haha I've never done either, but I would venture to say trajectory & ball speed would make a kick-off harder to handle, but easier to judge, where the opposite would be true for a punt returner. Anybody have any experience in this to tell me how I'm wrong? Just guessing here, but I'm wondering if McKelvin is having trouble judging the punts???

I'll take it...thanks! Ok, catching a punt is what a guy does when the other team does bad...& catching a kick-off is what he does when the other team does good. How did I do?

Here's my Training Camp Report from Friday 8/6/10

Sounds like this Joique Bell is the real deal as well. Sure wish we had such an arsenal at our disposal at some other positions like we do at RB. And it appears that McKelvin's days as a Bill are numbered. Thanks again Mike for another well written & thorough report. -
I don't understand the Bills QB bashers on this board for not taking some things into consideration and automatically assuming the four guys we have can't be "the guy." Let me list a few things to consider. Bill Walsh's endorsement of Edwards. TE's words when criticized on all the checkdowns.."I just do what the coaches tell me to do". TE's ability to shine so far in camp this year. Gailey's hands on approach to QB's, & DJ's lack thereof. Gailey's past success in nurturing QB's. Offensive line injuries last yr. Brohm's college career. Fitzy's ability to command..perhaps he just needs a functional system (yes...I'm aware of the accuracy issue..can it be fixed?). Brown's stats last yr...& also his drive, evident in his interviews. I'm not saying any of these guys will be the next Brady or Manning, but I'm also not ready to say that all four of these guys has no chance of being a quality starting NFL QB. I am very interested to see what Gailey can do with these guys. At this juncture, I could care less what QB's will be available in next yrs draft.

Yeah...I see your point... It's just that I've played a ton of sports when I was younger. The entire concept that somehow losing could be a good thing for any team is so foreign to me...kinda perverted actually. I can't imagine any athlete or any coach agreeing with Jerry Sullivan on this matter. It goes against anything I've ever been taught by any coach, and it makes me think that Sullivan has never played sports. I suppose that shouldn't disqualify him from being a sportswriter, but I am certain former athletes make better sportswriters & sportscasters. Anyone that's ever been in the heat of battle would never say to themselves or out loud, "we'll be better off down the road if we lose now."

Amen Bro! And a true fan would be hoping Bill Walsh's words concerning TE come true...that he breaks out this yr...or that Brohm becomes what everybody thought he was a couple yrs ago..or that Brown is our diamond in the rough...or that Gailey proves to be a much better coach than DJ, which will translate into some victories. Or that the new defensive scheme makes a difference, or that Spiller is what we think he is,...or........................I could go on & on. Bottom line: Sullivan is no Bills fan

Here's my Training Camp Report from Thursday 8/5/10

I always thought Roscoe was one of our better recent draft choices, & that he's been under utilized. He makes a mistake & DJ pulls the plug on him...sheesh! It appears Gailey has recognized his talent. I'm starting to think this is where Gailey is light years ahead of Dicky J...the ability to spot talent early on, & get the best guys in the thick of the action. How long did we have to shout at DJ to get Fast Freddie in? -

Mike, have you considered a hand held tape recorder? I was telling my wife that's how I thought you must be doing this. I am surprised to find out that you're taking notes on the fly. You must be a fast writer... -
I was thinking of popping out of the cake wearing my favorite pink tutu at the 50 yrd line at RW stadium while the "Shout" song was playing. I am hoping all the guys on the board here will attend. Please bring a nice gift for CJ...he's gonna end our drought!

OK thanx! , I'll circle the 5th on next yrs calendar. Kudos to Gaughan...down with Wiki. First round playoffs, he gets a poodle puppy. Title Game, he gets a new flat screen TV. Super Bowl appearance, he'll get a trip to Disney World. Super Bowl Victory, he can have my house, all it's contents, all my vehicles, and my wife's entire collection of black stilettos.

Let's hope! This is insignificant in itself, but it makes me just shake my head. Mark Gaughan in yesterdays billboard article states that Spiller's birthday was Thursday the 5th, yet Wikipedia says it's the 15th. C.J., if you read this, please e-mail me & let me know who is right. After leading us to the playoffs this year, I would like to send you a nice gift for your birthday next year & I would like it to arrive on the proper date. And I'm wondering if our local sportswriters are getting a lot of things wrong?? Can we believe what we read?

OK...let me guess. You were out partying all night & just felt the urge to post something before you crashed...

I sure wish the guys in this forum that feel the need to make personal attacks on each other would take it off the board & go to a personal forum to duke it out. There's way too many interesting threads interrupted by childish attacks. It's like looking at a picture of Angelina Jolie with a huge zit on her face. C'mon guys...sheesh! -

A little too tolerant perhaps? If I cheated on my wife just once, I would be living in my van at a campground somewhere. -

Mike, I'm not gonna pretend I understand tragedy, or even make an attempt to explain it from God's perspective. But I do believe He's in charge of everything, and if it were possible for you to receive His explanation, I believe your bitterness would leave you. -

Because 10 days before the Bills played the Redskins in the Super Bowl, God's Spirit entered into me. I could barely speak English for three days. It was not my imagination or a form of religious hysteria - it was a real event. This event in my life was so powerful (& still is), it erased all doubt. And the good news is, it's for you too! -

Murdered?..no. Loved ones die prematurely?...yes. My loss was great, but I don't blame God. -

Good point...one in which I intend to ponder today. I think your point may have a greater impact when celebrities are involved.
