Hey Guys, I did not invent the word CHIX. I've seen it several times on the board so I thought I would use it. I just really want to know...Tebow & Clausen & the available LT's in the draft...are they lacking that much? Are our QB's & LT's really better? Did Chan Gailey & Buddy Nix see this & avoid more mediocracy, or did they really think we had some potential studs? I am really wondering if CHIX is blind, or are these guys that shrewd that they're planning for next years draft? All I know is I spent almost 400 smackers on the NFL Sunday ticket & the NFL to go so I could watch my beloved Bills on my laptop at work, & I'm starting to wish I gave the money to charity. GRRRRR I'll tell ya, if Tebow or Clausen shine anytime soon, I'm gonna send a hundred certified letters to OBD.

I've been thinkin' all week...and the more I think, the more ticked I get. Here's why: I predicted and posted several times on this board...at the beginning and during training camp...that Trent Edwards would be pulled before game four. Am I some sort of smart guru?...no. I just stated what was obvious to me after watching TE the past couple of years...that he's not a gamer. He's a fantastic quarterback ...in practice, but when real bullets are flyin' he's dazed and confused. I wish the top brass would just cut him now. I was wrong on one count though...I thought he would be replaced by Brohm ...because another thing that's been obvious to me is that Fitz is a career back-up. He is a gamer however... and he'll take us to the brink of victory in a few games...heck, he may even win a couple for us...but we all know he's not "the one". It just seems to me that Brohm has the greater potential. I really believe that what I've just written most of us on this board believe. I remember about a month before the draft one of the talking heads predicted the Bills would take Spiller with our 1st pick. When I first read that I laughed out loud...thinking "no way"... because if there was one area we were set in, it was the running back position. Spiller was a luxury pick and everybody knows the bottom feeders can't afford luxury picks...that luxury picks are for playoff caliber teams. I predicted we would take Tebow or Clausen with our first pick, and the best available LT with our 2nd...maybe even move up to do so. After the draft I thought, "well, I'm just a shlep...CHIX must know something." Well guys, here we are again...our team is embarrassing us once again...and our QB & LT deficiencies are slapping us in the face. It's obvious Spiller can't block for himself. I'm feeling the season is over already. Isn't it awful when the preseason is more enjoyable than the regular season? I can't help feeling the new guys have failed us. How could they have not seen what all of us amateurs knew? Am I wrong here?

Is it safe to say we are officially cursed?
Glory Bound replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with you concerning the fact that there has been plenty of bad decisions & self inflicted wounds within the organization...no doubt about that. And we all pay for bad decisions, don't we? But can anybody prove there's no such thing as UFO's...or Poltergeists?...no. And nobody can prove there's no such thing as curses either. Just cause you said it doesn't make it so. -

HAHA That's an awesome story! I'm thinking that only Flutie himself can lift the curse, and if I was him I would keep it goin' til ole Ralphie boy is playing checkers with Elvis. This guy plays his heart out...gets us to the playoffs...only to get benched. UnBILLievable! -

Glory Bound replied to beggar13's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Take down O.J. the double murderers name & slap up Flutie's...then perhaps the curse will be lifted. But if the so-called curse you're talking about is actually karma, think about all the people within the Bills organization thru the yrs, coaches included (yes Wade for one), that RW has screwed over...then think about the honor & integrity of the Rooney's...then count the SB rings for each team. -
The QB We Should Really Target.......Ryan Mallett
Glory Bound replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
When Ralph Wilson introduced Buddy Nix, didn't he say we needed Luck?...Maybe he was talking about a different kind of luck though....hmmm? -
You need to watch this video
Glory Bound replied to Mike in Syracuse's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
He doesn't act old. Now Ralph Wilson is old and acts it. And what does his southern heritage have to do with the price of eggs? It's what's inside of him that counts. I like what he says...both he & Gailey. -
With three options available, I seriously doubt whether Jauron would have even thought of taking a safety. Too far out of the box for a pop warner offense. He would have gone for it or punted. My guess is he would have punted.

Dang man...you're in deep! If I were in your shoes, I think I would move to Fairbanks. I hear the aurora borealis is awesome up there!
-
Or perhaps the embarrassment you feel when everybody realizes you're the self-appointed grammar guru of The Stadium Wall...a highly esteemed position by at least one person.
-
Let's see...should we punt?...or should we go for it?...or should we take a safety? Hmmmmm?? Should I get hit over the head with a baseball bat?...or should I get poked in the eye with a stick?...nah...I'll take the kitchen knife in my shoulder blade. To all you guys questioning Gailey's decision, I just don't think it's justified. The outcome was gonna be the same...pain! Kudos to their punter for effectively dashing our hopes & sticking the dagger in our back.

In my family, I am the one that tells the stupid old jokes. So...you're saying they all feel like I feel today being a Bills fan? UGH! I need new jokes man. Thanks for enlightening me......

We're embarrassed because we allowed ourselves to be duped. Most of us bought into CHIX...that we didn't have inept QB's, they just needed coached up. We've been duped into thinking we could afford the luxury pick of Spiller at #9...that maybe this dude didn't need blocking. We've been duped into thinking our OL could get the job done... that we could ignore that issue the first few rounds of the draft. That's why I'm embarrassed today...not cause of the way they played, but because I feel tricked thinking things would be different & our new head guys knew what they were doing. Same church...different pew.

Ya know, we get mad when the talking heads in the media show us no respect, but truthfully...do we deserve any? Does anybody really think we're gonna march into Green Bay or New England & win either one of the next two games? I forget what the odds are of an 0 & 3 team making the playoffs, but I know it's slim. It's terrible that after one freaken game I have this sinking feeling again...that we're not gonna be in the playoffs again this year. The Bills looked pathetic as usual, with the exception of that one drive. And then let's take Spiller...our #1 draft choice & difference maker...he sure made a difference all right! Sheesh! A week ago today I called Direct TV & ordered the Sunday ticket for $320.00 & the NFL to go for an extra $50.00. I'm making a vow to myself this morning...that I'm not gonna allow this bunch of girls to cost me anymore loot 'til they start playing like men. When I do my grocery shopping this morning & the checkout person asks me, "paper or plastic" I'm gonna answer "paper"...it's not wise to put plastic over your head.

Multiple Pro Bowler = Star...I like that. And I agree on Fletcher. That was my original thought as well, but Strive-4-5 made a legitimate case for Spikes. And we DO have someone...Spiller. It just hasn't come to fruition yet.
-
I'm thinking star...as someone who has played like a star for the Bills. So that would exclude T.O. The question is...is T.O. on the downside of his career like Bledsoe, or does he still have gas in the tank & was the victim of a dysfunctional offense? I guess we'll know the answer to that after this year in Cinci. My guess is he still has it. Fast Freddie has played like a star at times...but just falls short as a legitimate star for the Bills. Maybe in time, but now with Spiller in the mix, that will be more difficult for him.
-
Well...since I would argue that Biscuit & Talley were legitimate stars...& since your point is quite valid, then the proper answer to Beggar13's original question would have to be Takeo Spikes - 2006. My apologies. Can anybody think of a more recent legitimate star for the Bills? I would hate to think we're having a 4 yr gap here...Spikes > Spiller.
-
Yeah...I know what he said...& I'm thinking the last one was in the early 90's. If I'm wrong, somebody please enlighten me. Spikes...hmmmm???...not so sure?
-
You must be young...early 90's. A whole slew of 'em. Our glory years! They're not all in Canton yet.
-
Read my signature I added on the 28th...a C.J. Spiller quote. Is he the only person that thinks we have a legitimate shot at being the best team in the NFL? His attitude is so refreshing. I can't wait to see him get Rookie of the Year.
-
End of season...no. But a VERY important game for both teams nonetheless... because of the toughness of both schedules. The winner of Sunday's game will have a significant edge over the other.

Stadium Wall vs Buffalo News/
Glory Bound replied to Webster Guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Spotting the yahoos on this board is easy & fast. I read their first few words...then the flag goes up, & I skip down to the next post without even giving their idiotic words space in my thought process...therefore they don't bother me one bit. It's kinda like channel surfing on TV. When you tune into something idiotic, what do you do? You switch the station right away without dwelling on the idiocy you just witnessed. Any other method of dealing with the immature humans on this board will make you nuts. Most of them are probably teenagers anyway & their brain isn't full developed yet. A good sense of humor helps too.
