  1. The Bills could win the Super Bowl. They could win Super Bowls. In a row. All 51-3. They could go 16-0. You could have CJ Spiller running up and down the field like a gazelle in the Serengeti. You'd still have the national media not giving the team or the city any respect. To the Hollywood types, Buffalo is a caricature. Buffalo is never going to be "popular" in the high school of national sports media. It'll always be the vo-tech kid. There won't be Bills jerseys in rap videos. You won't see Bills merchandise in Allentown, just as you don't today. Haha. Part of the reason I enjoy being a Bills fan. It's not trendy. It's not cool. It's definitely not easy. You gamble that all the depression and frustration will someday payoff in a high of equal value. We can all never be accused of bandwagon jumping.
  2. Not quite. June Jones runs the 21st Century version of the Run and Shoot offense at SMU, and previously at Hawaii. He tried it in the NFL when he was coaching the Falcons and it failed. The Run and Shoot is about as gimmicky as it gets today.
  3. What is truly puzzling is why Washington got rid of Brennan for Beck? Is the injury to his hip that bad, or diminished his ability to play? I'd rather scout the Arena League for a QB before taking Beck.
  4. Brennan had an impressive preseason before getting injured. I don't buy into gimmick programs like they have at Hawaii, but I admit, his performance in preseason did catch my eye.
  5. If you are the GM, you've got to consider...do I go through another season of the known quantity (TE, RF) and potentially get the same result as if I played my unknown quantity (BB, LB)? If the known gets you to say 4-12, and the unknown can get you to the same place, which do you choose? For me, I choose seeing what BB and LB have got.
  6. I agree somewhat, but I expected more from Trent Edwards. I think above anything else, that's what gives Bills fans the doom/gloom. Just seeing the same ol from him. I'll be looking for the defense to be faster this second game, with more reaction than thinking.
  7. I will panic if: 1. By the last preseason game, the defense still looks as slow. That means they are not reacting to the play but instead thinking about assignments, routes, etc. That was one of the bigger problems on Friday...the defense, especially the young guys like Moats, were thinking. That makes you very slow on the field. 2. If Edwards remains QB after a repeat performance of Friday night. 3. If Edwards remains QB despite Brohm or Brown obviously outperforming him. 4. Guys like Nelson and Bell get cut.
  8. Is it even remotely possible for Maybin to be transformed into a MLB?
  9. Thanks for posting the video. That was a lot of fun to watch. For me, witnessing a Bills Super Bowl win would be tantamount to finding out I have a $150 million dollar winning lottery ticket, or the birth of a child. It'd be right up there.
  10. Last year was the bottom of the barrel. It cannot get worse than that preseason from a year ago.
  11. Prediction: The Bills 3-4 defense will be better than advertised, igniting a fire of hysteria in Washington.
  12. I do not believe any preseason analysis of teams since 1999. Every preseason analysis had that as a season of doom for the downtrodden St. Louis Rams, even more so after Trent Green was lost for the season and the team had to rely on some dude named Kurt Warner, and some old, out of touch coach named Dick Vermeil. That's all you heard about. The press was just so completely absolutely wrong, not only on the Rams but other teams...that it was the point that I just stopped paying attention to them.
  13. I bought in long ago. It was a shockingly practical move to hire Gailey after going through a decade of Williams, Mularkey and Jauron, and I think the Bills will be better for it. He's a proven winner, and experienced. Not sure what more fans could possibly ask for.
  14. This team won six games despite Jauron and that grease fire we called a season last year. I think we'll go 9-7, with the last game of the season being the clincher, with the playoffs on the line.
  15. Clapping? Why stop there? Nothing says good play in a 7/7 like tearing down the goal post.
  16. How about a Ric Flair woo in lieu of a clap? Six shooters to cap it off?
  17. I agree. Frankly, I think it's the Texans, Saints or retirement. Texans for proximity, Saints, best shot for a ring within relative proximity to Texas.
  18. I agree. I wouldn't count on the Texans being the destination if AS is looking for a payday over $2 million. He'll have to give a *significant* hometown discount to play there based on what they are paying the other significant members of their starting defensive rotation. He might get some interest, but it'd be ironic if it was from teams even further away from Texas than Buffalo.
  19. I love the meltdown some are having over Spiller not being signed.
  20. The product on the field notwithstanding, the Bills are a well run, stable franchise when you look at the books. Very profitable, with a ridiculously low amount of debt. Their business model works from a financial point of view.
  21. I'm not panicking. If there is one thing the Bills do well, it's the business end of the operation.
  22. I own three handguns, a rifle and a shotgun. Competitive shooting is a hobby I've participated in since my early teens.
  23. Yeah, in a way. I love the underdog, and if T.O happens to help the Bengals take out the Patriots or Steelers in the playoffs, yeah I'll enjoy that immensely. For as much criticism as the man has gotten, he has never run afoul of the law. Ever. I respect that in light of fans hero worship of the likes of Ray Lewis, Ben Roethlisberger, etc. And, he was a good soldier in Buffalo last year despite everything that went wrong.
