  1. Smokescreen. If anything, may give a little bit of insight into what the FO is thinking about doing. Trading out of the #9 slot.
  2. How can you have an "outlook" before the conclusion of free agency, the draft, camp and preseason? If the Bills go out and have a killer draft (of their definition of course), those "experts" change their tune quickly. If the Bills go undefeated in preseason for whatever reason, you'll hear the words "darkhorse" and "surprise contender" being batted around. What you see is easy, lazy journalism being passed off.
  3. I tend to believe there's lots going on......it's just that the Buffalo FO is a black hole for the media. No one saw the Nix or Gailey hires coming, nor the release of TO, however expected.
  4. I'm not saying Buffalo won't try to get McNabb. I think St. Louis will offer a better deal if they are in the hunt.
  5. Meh. Everyone thought Adalius Thomas was going to be great too. The Bears are more desperate and will pay more.
  6. I think Banner wins in Philly and McNabb gets traded. Not to Buffalo, but St. Louis. They go with Suh at #1, pick up a guy to develop at QB in the later rounds.
  7. Given our busy injury bug, he's the type of free agent to pick up.
  8. Has a good shot at winning. The odds are in his favor in consideration of the past 1st place finishes of NFL players and athletes. Think it'll be tough to beat the Pussycat Doll though. You'd think she'd be good at dancing.
  9. What would the Bills hypothetically get in terms of #of draft picks and slotting if they decided to trade the 9th?
  10. Why does everybody think it's *just* about Buffalo? I don't think Shanahan was going to work for anybody but Dallas and Washington. Shanahan needs a ton of money, and a desire to spend a lot of it (big spending owner) to be successful. The majority of teams in the NFL wouldn't fit his coaching M.O.
  11. I agree 100%. Given the injury bug has feasted on the Bills, depth at LB is a primary concern. It's one position that you could upgrade moreso than QB or OL through FA.
  12. The *successful* Bills teams have been built through the draft. Not free agency or trades for other team's aging players. This team needs consistent depth. You use free agency to fill out a roster, not as a cornerstone of the team. (the Redskins) That formula hasn't hasn't changed. I think the urge to rush out and get the McNabbs of the world is because we've crapped the bed with drafting the past couple years. We don't trust the front office. Perhaps Nix will change that mindset.
  13. There's no quick fix for the QB position. You either draft this year, take your chances with a FA or go with Edwards. In such a deep draft, I think it's ridiculous to trade away picks for guys like McNabb or Campbell.
  14. No way would I do this trade. I don't think we should be trading away decent players like Whitner and draft picks for a guy who's head is literally swimming for a bazillion different coordinators at Auburn and Washington, with a lack of confidence that holds the ball ala Rob Johnson. Pass.
  15. With his concussions? He'd be smart to retire, and live a long, healthy life. Same for LT. With the exception of perhaps Preist Holmes or Curtis Martin, no running back has had great seasons when he's past 30.
  16. Florio is off base, and wrong. Meyer isn't at UF to shape NFL players. He's paid by Florida University to win games. Lots of games, bowl bids and championships. All of those things equals money for the university. He's not going to mess around with the mechanics of the goose who laid the golden egg for the university. If Urban Meyer went and changed the mechanics of Tebow and the end result would have been a less-effective Tebow behind center, there would have been hell to pay from the administration, the all important money alumnus, and the fans.
  17. I think he retires. I agree, I don't see LT taking a secondary role with a team, regardless of striking distance to the SB.
  18. I follow the Pittsburgh Pirates, San Antonio Spurs and Colorado Buffaloes in college football. I was a long suffering fan of the Pirates before their great years in the 90s and again suffering.....was a fan of the Spurs when they drafted Robinson in 87, and followed Colorado due to a family member who played on the team from 89-91.
  19. I'd think some of the Deliverance country in the US....where running water, consistent electricity, higher education, and stable employment are all fantasies, are worse off than the "bad" cities on the list. I'm sure hellholes like New Orleans, East St. Louis and Camden or Newark, NJ are very warm and inviting.
  20. I think if Lynch goes anywhere, and that's a big if, it's a draft day deal for a pick. Nix brought Cromartie to San Diego, but it's just not a position of need.
  21. I agree with Phil Simms's statement that McNabb was running for his life in those loses to the Cowboys. Despite all the names on the Eagles offensive line, it's not that good. Further, everyone knows that the Eagles only pass. It's a very predictable offense. If the Bills are considering McNabb, that almost ensures that the first pick will be a LT. Has to be.
  22. Joe D’Alessandris is all power. Old school coach.
  23. Solid hire in Joe D’Alessandris. I figured he'd be one of the coaches, but glad to see it official.
