When the Wheels Came off in 2009
dpberr replied to Gabe Northern's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The wheels fell off before the bus rolled out of the station. The combination of Jauron's micro-management of the offense, Schoenert's abrupt dismissal and putting a very inexperienced AVP as OC (on the fly) plunged this team into chaos from which it never returned. Injuries just magnified the collapse from epic to cataclysmic. -
If LeBron James doesn't re-sign with Cleveland...
dpberr replied to Buftex's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I'm a Spurs fan so I don't really care what goes on in the East, but I don't see this Miami Heat experiment lasting more than a year, especially if the Heat fall short of the goal, getting knocked out of the playoffs at the same juncture that Cleveland did this year. This is not the Boston experiment....it looks more like the Karl Malone/Shaq/Kobe Lakers. The "games" of the Big 3 don't mesh well. Three massive egos, only one basketball. -
List of whipping boys we should have kept

Bill Polian and Wade Phillips. Firing Bill Polian was one of the worst decisions in sports history. Firing Wade Phillips, in my opinion, triggered the epic collapse that the team recovers from to this day. -
Tomlinson: I will 'absolutely' win a Super Bowl

The Jets never live up to expectations. LT has nothing left in the tank. He's got about three years of mileage more than Thomas Jones had. -
Most important game of the 2010 season......
dpberr replied to BillsFanInLV's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The first game. It sets the tone. New coach, new offense, new defense. How the team plays in that first game is huge, especially if it's like last year's MNF opener, where we had the game, and the feeling of impending doom was sweeping into the room as the seconds ticked into the 4th quarter. It'd be incredible if Buffalo either came out and destroyed Miami or closed out a close game. -
I'll go along with that.

Great opportunity for a trade with San Diego
dpberr replied to Got_Wood's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't trade for McNeil. He's got spinal stenosis. Way too much of a liability to sign to a long-term deal, which would be a condition of any trade, I'm sure. -
Which Failed QB Would Have Been Most Successful
dpberr replied to grammer_police's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Count me in on RJ. I always felt he was the John McClane of Bills quarterbacks. He got lost in the chaos of the final act in the collapse of Rome (Bills supremacy). Wrong place, wrong time. -
My God, look at the wobble on the deep ball attempts...
dpberr replied to DarthICE's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I am very impressed with Easley. Looks like a total ball hawk. If you compare the practice videos versus this year, you'll see the differences instantly. The "new" offense definitely has a click and electricity to it. Ed Wang really needs to cut that hair. He can't pull off the long hair (and earring) without looking like a woman. -
I was with Haynesworth until he took the bonus check. If he hadn't taken that check, he'd probably be with another team by now.

I agree. I only see Lynch going to Seattle in a trade ala Philadelphia/Denver/Detroit earlier this year. Question is...what trade partner would want Leroy Hill, arguably Seattle's bes chip in a trade?

New QB possibility? Free agent to be
dpberr replied to BoozeCruise's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I thought this would be a thread about Rosenfels, who will probably be dealt by Minnesota. Quinn. No. Rosenfels. Maybe. Intriguing. -
I don't have a problem AS wanting to retire. I have a problem with his unprofessional Favreian approach to it.
-
Fits perfectly for this situation, which has dragged on for too long.

Carroll's crash and burn in Seattle is inevitable. Leopards don't change their spots. What happened in New York and New England will happen again in Seattle. Unfortunately for him, I don't think he'll find a home in Division I college football after it. This is the sort of thing that gets you blacklisted by ADs and school administrations. They tend to have long memories. So while it appears Carroll has avoided penalty, its simply taking a raincheck for later.

We've all heard the stories
dpberr replied to Logical Reasoning's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd hope that since the offense sees the 3-4 every day in practice, they will be able to solve it on gameday. The offense looked absolutely lost when up against a 3-4. I'm one of those optimists. I think last season went wrong in so many ways off the field...and the team has attempted to correct those problems and the injury-riddled talent cranked out six wins despite everything. Their corrections in the front office, coaching and conditioning have given me hope for this season. -
Objective, no. To be objective, you'd have to be talking about Lynch, Schoebel's Favreian retirement watch, why Maybin doesn't appear in any of the OTA reports and how the 3-4 looks like without pads on yet. I do think that his reports are informative and entertaining, especially since you've got new coaches, new defense. It's interesting to watch the players in action, and see who's doing what. It's eye candy to keep us interested.

I think it will depend on how the quarterback situation plays out. If it turns out Brohm falls flat, and Fitzpatrick and Edwards are who we thought they were , I don't see the team making a move. They will want to retain those picks for next year to trade or draft for a quarterback. I don't put a lot of stock in Levi Brown, sorry. However, if the coaching staff has strong confidence in either Brohm or Edwards, and they take off in the new offense, I could see them making a move for a Left Tackle.

Bills still in play for F. Adams?

Correct. See: Owens, Terrell -
What is right with the Buffalo Bills !!!!
dpberr replied to tonyjustbcuz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The fans. The city. If you've ever been to a game of a corporate run, big city team, you know how unique and special the Bills are in the grand scheme of football. -
Why won't the Bills give a #2 pick for Gaither?
dpberr replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Trading for NFL players is sorta like buying a house. If the house is overpriced, you hold tight, and let desperation trickle in for the sellers, who must sell, and let the house come down to market value. The price for Gaither is above market value. Buffalo isn't the only team that would like a young LT. Nobody has given Baltimore what they seek. So, sit back and wait until Baltimore gets antsy, and lowers the price. -
The entire NFL should do only throwbacks for an entire year, as the main uniforms. Not only would it be very cool to watch, but the cash registers at the NFL offices would beg for mercy.
-
It'll be Minnesota or nowhere. I think Childress is desperate enough. He knows he has to win this year. He'll forget 2005 in Philadelphia.

Matt Roth wants out of Cleveland
dpberr replied to Glass To The Arson's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to mention the massive amounts of steroids he's taken have destroyed his body. Looks like a physical specimen on the outside, but on the inside, his body is breaking down. The knee injury was just the beginning. He'll spend more time on the injury list than on the field in future seasons. -
Five Reasons The Bills Should Sign................
dpberr replied to H2o's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The guy doesn't want to play football. Unless that changes, everything else is just conversation.
