The Bills have never been closers. Lost Super Bowls. Music City Miracle. Lots of games like today. The Bills need to start to draft or attract the players that do their best work in the 4TH quarter.

John Bongiovi interested in buying the Bills

At the rate we're going, even George Seifert will be included in the discussion of people wanting to buy the Bills. -
John Bongiovi interested in buying the Bills
dpberr replied to Doc's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I've always been of the opinion that there *is* a plan in place and has been for quite some time. I don't see Ralph Wilson being a man who leaves his legacy to chance. I don't see the Wilson family allowing their father's legacy to be dictated by others. -
Has anyone taken notice that

Made me LOL. -
Lease vs. Buy vehicle/Small SUV opinions
dpberr replied to Richmond_Bills's topic in Off the Wall Archives
If you do a lot of driving or your vehicles take their share of abuse and are exposed to the elements 24/7, you may want to purchase. -
Texans Release Safety Ed Reed, Signed by the Jets

He should have stayed with the Ravens, even with a paycut. "There's no leaving the island, Jack." -
A Few Thoughts About The Game, in no particular order
dpberr replied to Bill from NYC's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Hackett has to go. I know he won't be going, but he has to. -
I vote in every election. Last night we had local ones here in PA. I had a really lousy choice between two local candidates that I really didn't like. I couldn't stomach casting a vote for either and I hate leaving ballot spots blank so I kiko'ed it. I know at some point in the near future either one of those candidates or their supporters will glance at the write ins and wonder who the hell is Kiko Alonso? It's just my way of extending the Bills brand.

I'd agree that this team has a feel of the late 80s teams that were ramping up to the 90s juggernaut. I'd be delighted with 8-8. I think it will be a teeth nashing, hand wringing trip getting there.

Jonathan Martin AWOL, Incognito suspended
dpberr replied to uncle flap's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think it's a big deal. It's workplace harassment that could easily escalate into some serious workplace violence between two mentally fragile individuals in an environment that is without leadership or management that is respected. That will end badly without it being stopped. That being said, Martin will never play for the Dolphins again and Incognito is probably out of the league. I don't know what you do with Martin at this point if you're the Dolphins. Perhaps it's a sunk cost in a draft pick and you move on. -
It is Hackett's fault for not using his talent and being way too cute with the play calling. You don't put your 80th string quarterback in that position on the 1 when you have at least one, if not two shots to get it on the ground using FJ, CJ or the Big Frank to punch that in the end zone. It's akin to having Barry Sanders in your backfield and having Bob Gagliano throw the pass.
-
If there needs to be one man held responsible it's Hackett. Only in video games do you PASS on the 1 yard line with two great running backs and a battering ram fullback in your arsenal. That was the game right there. I'm sick of seeing CJ and FJ just barrel up the middle for a couple yards time and time again as well and the absolute criminal lack of screen passes. The Bills should be screen passing all day long with the talent they have.

You know...for me I'm not as down on the team as some are on the board. We are in every game despite starting practice squad or rookie quarterbacks every single game this year. Some forget the absolute poundings we took under the Jauron/Gailey regimes where this team would get punched in the face and it was over by halftime. You don't see the 2013 Bills getting down 21-0 nearly instantly and having to mount heroic comebacks game after game after game with a roster that had perhaps one comeback all year in them. At the very least the Bills are evalutating the 2014 backup quarterback. At the very best, perhaps EJ and the combination of Lewis/Tuel/Flynn can take advantage of the easier schedule and pick off a few wins. I don't think anybody has seen nearly enough of Manuel at this point to make an educated observation on his future.

I'd only want the Bills to add players, preferrably on the cheap (like a kick the tires on Fred Davis experiment or some practice squad raiding) I don't want them to trade Byrd or pick up expensive vets.

When were you most wrong on a player?
dpberr replied to plenzmd1's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As the original poster who threw Smith up on the board, I'd agree he was a better Patriot than he was a Bill. -

Antowain Smith. I thought he was a can't miss battering ram out of Houston. Our version of Christian Okoye. -
Rex Ryan is an above-average coach. The Bills always hire "nice guy" coaches and that's a part of the problem. I don't think stadiums should sell beer anymore. RWS should have a grass field, no matter how difficult the upkeep.

I liked your post. Thank you for contributing. The Toronto series would be immediately improved by getting rid of the domed football experience. The Bills do not play home football games in central air conditioning.

This Marrone fella, he's gonna be a good one
dpberr replied to zow2's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think Marrone is doing ok. I give him a pass on the record because the Bills have been competitive in every game, with chances to win it. With rookie/practice squad quarterbacks and no-name wide receivers and defensive backs what more do you want? The Bills have a better record than other NFL teams with their healthier, better players on the field. -
The kicking game: Powell/Carpenter
dpberr replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'd IR Hopkins. Carpenter has been as nice a surprise as finding a $20 bill on the ground. As for Powell, no more directional kicks. Just kick that ball as far as you can and it'll be ok.
