  1. In that case, Cleveland makes the most sense since a 2nd to them, is essentially nothing for this year and the plethora of picks and money they have and it immediately provides QB relevance and the opportunity for their newly anointed QB of the future to grow for a year.
  2. He's had health related over the last few years, but when he's healthy, he's an outstanding RB....low center of gravity, quick, good cuts, strong runner.
  3. I think it's interesting he has Chase listed as the 6th most pursuit worthy QB with Allen, Darnold, Mayfield all falling below him and then the last two. Chase Daniel has not been a name thrown around much in the last year or two, and it would be interesting if the Bills were to sign him as the position holder for the Drafted guy, unless Chase wanted a 5 or 6 year deal worth starter money.
  4. Um, I'm none of those things and I don't want to trade up for the following reasons: 1. This IS a deep QB Draft, and when you have so many picks, you allow the Draft to come to you - especially when you're a team in dire need of talent. You sit at 21 and take Rudolph or Jackson (which I'm not a fan of, but others seem to really think he's great) and trade back from 22 if possible, if not take the best DT / LB that is on your board. 2. Trading up not only gives up Draft picks, it essentially removes talent from other parts of the field that the Bills truly need. IF this team was deep all over, or had star power at a number of positions, then I'd say going way up to #2 or #3, would make sense. But, we see what happens when the Bills had to move from 9th to 4th, and Watkins' issues notwithstanding, the Draft capital it took to move, was too much. 3. I think a QB needs to be developed, no matter who it is, and giving that much up when you're QB is developing AND you have holes all over the place means you're probably struggling every week. People say Goff and Wentz, and they're fantastic, but they were not great in their 1st year and at the time they didn't have the talent and coaching around the rest of the team to help them elevate their game, the Bills are not there yet either but COULD be with all of their Draft picks. 4. Essentially for me it comes down to this: would I rather have Rosen, a 3rd round DT, 4th round LB / WR / RB and a two 5th Round players of the same or, Rudolph and Hurst, then Phillips, Vander Esch, Sony Michel, and a WR and another LB? I think Rudolph will be a good to great QB, maybe never Rosen or Darnold in the NFL, but I certainly think he can be a very good QB who can win early and often as long as the rest of the pieces fit. Now, ALLLLLLLLL of that said, while I personally don't want the Bills to trade up - IF they do, of course I'm going to support whomever it may be with all of my fandom because I love the Buffalo Bills and will hope that the enormous gamble pays off. On a side note: I don't think it's necessary to attempt to insult a section of people that don't agree with you, especially when you use the word "foolhardy"....
  5. I agree with the overall premise of this thread: pick YOUR guy, regardless of where in the Draft and be confident that the assessment is the tool, not the position in which he is Drafted. I am one who thinks Rudolph will be a very good QB, and certainly one the Bills could utilize to re-make their Offense beginning next year. I also believe Beane values the Draft more than FA, which is why I'm doubtful of the Cousins to Buffalo scenario, regardless of the money. IMHO, Beane and McD are reshaping the roster to be the identity they want, which is why I think Hughes, Taylor, Shady, Richie all go...and why it's possible Glenn goes, but now with a new OC and probably a new QB, they may keep him to help the young QB as one less changing part. I'm hoping the Bills stay put, or if they move up, it's a relatively short distance and NOT up to #2 overall or even #3 overall as I think it would take a king's ransom to do it, and this roster needs youth all over the field and they have a lot of departing FAs, which is a good thing IMO as well. Just to be clear, I really like Cousins and was vocal about it when he was Drafted, but at this current time where the roster is for the Bills and where the team is, I just don't see it. However, if I'm wrong and the Bills get him, of course I will be a fan because it's not like I want the man to fail, I just don't think it's a great idea to spend all that money when there are so many issues with the roster. Furthermore, I would hope the Bills see the strengths of the Draft, i.e. QB, and realize to use it to their advantage.
  6. Tolbert was a 1 year contract, he’s a FA.
  7. If they’re going all in on a QB to move up, it would seem 1. Has to be Rosen or Darnold & 2. They have a “bridge” Vet QB they think they can get to hold the spot for 2 years
  8. I have no idea if this is accurate - but I’ve been saying most of the season Shady would be traded. And it might never happen, but people were ready to send in a headhunters for me suggesting such a thing...and if it ends up being true, to those people I won’t mind being a bit juvenile and saying “I told you so”, because they were quite rude. Anyways, if it happens I think it’s what’s best for the Bills.
  9. Just wondering what was supposed to be here??
  10. I am one of Tyrod's most outspoken detractors (accuracy, inability to make reads / audibles on Defenses, can't anticipate a guy open / throw him open, etc.), but if Mike Glennon got $15 million for his resume and to be a back-up, Tyrod's 18 million is basically right on par. Because he adds a dimension Glennon does not, doesn't turn the ball over, and throws a better deep ball - all the other things are still true of Tyrod which is why I don't want him starting for the Bills and because of his history with them I don't want him on the team at all, to avoid controversy and the darn Tyrod debate that has raged for 3 years, but if I were say, the Cards or Browns who both will probably Draft a QB, he would be well worth the money and trade capital for that team since it won't take a 3rd and probably just a 4th to get it done.
  11. Presuming he received a Combine invite, it would be interesting to see what he runs at the Combine as far as 20 & 40 yard time. He's a strong runner, has some nice shiftiness to his game, but looks a bit slow in terms of that straight speed. At this point I think a 3rd is at least a round too high for him. If he runs a fast 40 time, or even a great 20 split, he could find himself in the top of the 4th, but given the absolute beast of a Draft this one is for RBs, I think 5th is probably where he belongs. JMO of course.
  12. In many respects - in my mind at least, you're right in terms of indicating any measurable change from last year to the upcoming one....but, also consider right now, we have a deficit at CBs based on Gaines NOT being under contract, so in terms of the immediate, it does improve the team IF Davis were to sign, only from the standpoint of signing a Veteran CB with really good potential. In the end, I agree in that we don't know that it is an improvement but also, if the team were to somehow get both Gaines and Davis - barring injury from either player, THAT would certainly be a projected improvement until the season starts.
  13. You may not agree that it's a good sign, fair enough of course.....but, to say that without question Gaines is a better player, is quite a stretch of logic IMO. Davis at one point was the top CBs in the league, and while he didn't return to that form with the Colts, I don't think I'd write off his career just yet. Buffalo, in recent years, has been a place where players who once were thought to be "done" or their career to have sunk to an ultimate low (Richie / Hughes / Lorax) have been revived. If the Bills sign Davis, I have faith in McD to get the most out of him and given his potential, I think that makes it pretty promising.
  14. In reference to your other point about Rudolph being a “one read guy”, you’re somewhat right but entirely wrong about his Senior year. Don’t take my word for it, go listen to Traspasso on WGR this morning and he’ll say it himself. In Rudy’s Sophmore and Junior years, that is an accurate statement - but in his Senior year, game after game he is making across the field reads and holding the ball and staying in the pocket, throughout every game - and guess what? His numbers improved to almost 5,000 yards, 37 TDs and a rating around 170 while completing 65% of his passes. And....he’s getting better.
  15. That would be 3...Eli, Big Ben, and Rivers are all guaranteed to have the gold jacket.
  16. CB is a definite need based on departures and some lackluster play by those who didn't start....if it happens, it would be a good sign of things to come.
  17. But to be fair, in the article he specifically said he would slot Rudolph at 21 but just for the sake of "seeing what happens", he went off script to see how it altered the Draft, only to have Rudy going to Steelers and compared him to Big Ben, absent the arm strength. And he also addressed in the interview that he didn't put Rudy as QB1 just for "click bait", his words....but went on to explain why he had Rudy as the top QB, all with good reasons and addressed the fact that Rudy doesn't have the arm that Allen or Rosen have, but explained why he had Rudy as QB1....not that it matters, but it's the same thing I've been saying since December.
  18. Shhhhhhhh......you're making sense....
  19. I can certainly understand why that would make sense in one vein of thought, and others like bandit27 would agree with you....but JMO, I would rather have Glenn who has played on the left side his entire career and played both tackle and guard in college (and when he came out, many scouts projected him to Guard over Tackle), he allows a Rookie QB to have his blindside protected very well and by a young, athletic set of men while RT is "less" of an issue based on FA or Draft because I would presume it would be easier for any Rookie to adapt if pressure comes from his open side. So I'm not opposed to it, and if the staff thinks RT suits Glenn better than LG, then by all means...but I would NOT fail to move Glenn to LG simply because of Richie...as much as I know Richie has done an admirable job and been exactly the OPPOSITE of what I anticipated, i.e. a good teammate and hard worker to prove me dead-wrong, he is on the down slope of his career and RT is an issue no matter what you do. Also, IMHO, LG poses less of an issue for Glenn's foot based on the movement required to play Guard vs. Tackle. But, wth do I know.....so, if the brass says, RT, then I trust them and won't complain a bit.
  20. Yeah, for me I'd be much more concerned with RT as I think Miller could rebound nicely. As for where to allocate resources, if the Bills were to indeed trade up to whatever spot, i.e. #2, for a guy like Rosen, they would HAVE to be all in on their Offensive line. Meaning, if it were me, I would NOT trade Glenn, I would make him the LG and trade / cut Richie, keep Miller, and sign a RT. Then, you sign LBs, WRs, two CBs, trade Hughes, Tyrod, and yes Shady, for either picks or players and you need to get a true outside WR as Zay is far better in the slot. So a Brice Butler type of guy, then you use whatever Draft capital you have, on LB / DT / RB and Offensive line depth.
  21. Yes, you're right...how he holds the ball in specific situations, mainly when the pressure gets to him and he's trying to buy some time or in those limited situations, his first step or two when he tries to run a bit, the ball security concerns me more from projecting what "could" be an issue with faster, stronger Defensive linemen and the need to hold that ball appropriately at all times. But, that's also why I essentially say it's a piece to work on, but not anywhere close to a real concern that dissuades me from making him my selection.
  22. The bolded statement demonstrates to me, you haven't really done your homework. Here's a link to help: https://www.sports-reference.com/cfb/players/mason-rudolph-1.html This information shows the following: 1. 3 year starter with his Sophmore year producing 3770 yards, 21 TDs, 9 INTs, Rating of 149.1 & 62.3% completion rate Junior year - 4091 yards, 28 TDs, 4 INTS, 158.9 Rating, & 63.4% completion rate Senior year - 4904 yards, 37 TDs, 9 INTs, 170.6 Rating, & 65% completion rate 2. He won the Johnny Unitas Award over Baker Mayfield, showing countless professionals think he was very productive 3. He IMPROVED each year in nearly every category except INTs and that came with a 2:1 ratio of improvement, re: TD:INT - which means, he's STILL getting even better 4. He threw for nearly 5,000 yards in his Senior year ....that's not productive? The argument against Rudy has been his arm strength, but to me, that comes from people who haven't watched him in various situations, taking the popular narrative without forming their own opinion, or in some cases I just disagree based on what I see. The legit concern is his holding the ball when he gets pushed in the pocket and moves out of the pocket to escape, as I don't like how he holds the ball and it can lead to fumbles, which is reckless. But, IF that's my only real concern, I note it, indicate we need to work on it, and take him at 21 and don't look back.
  23. Bears, Texans were a lock much like the Bills, Jets, Denver, Browns, and Cards are this year. KC would fit similarly to the Steelers as I mentioned as it would be planning for future. Bills were not in the QB Draft market last year, neither was Denver as they believed they had their guy and Jets were idiots. Cardinals also knew they had Palmer and believed he had one more good year left. So those are just inaccurate. The market is richer with talent and greater at need this year, so trading UP doesn't make sense to me. We disagree, that's cool. I'm not changing your mind, and you're definitely not changing mine. So, time will tell. Go Bills!
  24. This was the hire I hoped for once it came out the Bills were in the market.
  25. If Bills Draft a QB and plan to start him from Day 1, my preference would be to have Glenn start at LG, and cut Richie or trade him if they could. I think Glenn and Dawkins would be a really nice blindside protection combo for the Rookie.
