  1. Yeah, the only issue is that the Tweet indicated, "sustained", as in new injury....and I'm not picking, I'm saying it would appear it's a new injury, new development with long-term implications. Obviously, I have no idea...
  2. Again, this would need to be of significance for it be considered "bearer of bad news", so that really does leave just a couple names: Tyrod, Shady, Clay and Benjamin....honestly, even Glenn would not be surprise unless it's a full on career-ender. Otherwise, for Offense, I don't see it....I like Eric Wood, but even his loss on the team is quite replaceable, and Dawkins, would also be a real step back, but there's still FA and Draft and IF it isn't Glenn, then he can step in when he's healthy next season....so that leaves the four previously mentioned....also, maybe it was a freak accident that happened yesterday? Making Tyrod a candidate as well as the other 3, but as Yolo and others have said Shady is loving life at Pro Bowl, so I doubt it's him....who knows?
  3. Tyrod broke his vagina....great, now what?!
  4. As with many QB opinions this time of year, the take on Mike White seems to be all over the board. On one site, they talk about his lack of arm, and two other sites they talk about his NFL quality arm strength, in another forum the discussion is that he plays "half field read", and on another they talk about his ability to audible at the line....it really is incredible to see the disparity in opinion once you get past the usual 4 in this Draft of Darnold, Rosen, Allen and Mayfield. Those 4 are polarizing enough and then to try and read up on / watch Mike White, it seems like a schizophrenic turd eating baby that can't make up it's mind..... To his credit, he sat out in between his Sophmore and Junior years to learn more from the QB at WKU and immediately saw returns. His Junior year was fantastic as others have said and additionally, he chose to stay for his Senior year despite some telling him he should go and could go to the NFL so he could learn even more. But what intrigues me about White, is that he came to football late, only starting his Senior year in high school and leading his team to state playoff games in FLORIDA, meaning it wasn't Colorado where the bison roam...it's a truly competitive football state with some real stars. This tells me that 1. he recognized he needed to continue to learn and grow and stayed in college to do exactly that, unfortunately his teammates decided the NFL looked better and he didn't have nearly the same year as a Senior and 2. he still has so much potential to develop even further where most QBs in their 5 year Senior season, have reached their cap. This tells me, that taking a QB like Mike White in the 2nd round - and based on what I saw in the highlights for myself - is a good decision if he lasts that long. QBs always go at least one round earlier than they "should", so I could also see Buffalo trading back one of their picks for a late 1st and picking up an extra 3rd or 4th and Drafting him at the bottom of the 1st or the very top of the 2nd.
  5. The end result is the following list of players for Buffalo, in order of the positions listed in the guide: RB Damien Williams FB Derrick Coleman WR John Brown WR Andre Roberts TE Jeff Cumberland OT Austin Pasztor DT Daequan Jones DT Kyle Williams DE Ezekiel Ansah DE Arthur Moats LB Bruce Carter CB EJ Gaines YUCK!!! No thanks to everyone except Kyle - obviously, Ansah is ok but not at the money he'll want, and of course Gaines. Everyone else, there's the door...thanks for coming.
  6. Settle down Sparky...it was more a reflection of this type of discussion appears to be a daily occurrence in a new thread....nothing more than a sarcastic observation. Enjoy your day.
  7. Hmmmm, I feel like I've seen this thread before....
  8. Yup, that's the one! And I was mistaken, it's called Military Cutoff Rd....great place to shop. That place is like a casino: walk in with a pocket of cash, walk out wondering if you can mortgage the house....I think, and I might be mistaken, but they have little mini- concerts near the movie theater sometimes. Wilmington overall is just a cool vibe.... Have you ever been to the Oceanic? Food is "okay", but again just really chill place....on weekend nights, they have a band play on the pier with white lights along with the pier and serve dinner outside on the pier...or you can sit in their restaurant looking out over the Atlantic. I know a lot of places have these things, but from Central New York to Wilmington, it's a nice atmosphere and great change in scenery. I lived in Clearwater, FL when i was a kid for a few years in the early '80s.....that's a whole other story. Anyways, small world....
  9. I think this year will be a bit different just because we have so many UFAs walking out, you HAVE to replace them just by the law of numbers. As long as the replacements are the Hyde - Poyer type, I'm great with that...and for all the talk about trading Sammy, it's been a muted point that EJ Gaines was a revelation for the Bills Defense last year. That belongs entirely to Beane and his staff....and what also makes sense, is that I really don't think the Bills are trading up this year....had the Bills been close to top 10, then it's at least in the conversation. But, now I think they look for another path to find the solution for the QB issue.
  10. Yup, Brunswick Forest is about a quarter mile up the road on the left from my parents. Plus all that commercial area and they added about 1,000 - 2,000 homes in Magnolia which is the development where my parents live...so about 8,000 in Brunswick at last count I knew, plus their own development in the first couple years they started living there, in 2002. EDIT: I want to correct my numbers: when my parents arrived most of the development was already there, but they were adding multi-units, town homes, to the tune of a couple hundred with each housing (2), so the total added was more like 500 "homes" but about 200-250 actual structures, which makes more sense now that I think about it because the size of the sprawling landscape and its inhabitants when they arrived. Sorry about the confusion....that also means the added homes has to be closer to 6,000 - 7,000 when you included Brunswick Forest, but still that's a lot of fricken "homes" and development in 16 years......woof! Was the mall over near Military Highway? If so, I’ve been there.
  11. Bruh....spooning leads to forking....so, yeah.
  12. That's the truth!! I can't remember the name of the dish, but when the family and I went to visit my parents in September, my father got this dish that Chinese sausage in it....oh....my....God!! It was unbelievable. Sweet and Savory, my favorite dessert place! And at some point a few years ago, they changed their chef or cooking staff, because for years their shrimp and grits were quite frankly, just beyond words.....but then they made some changes and their menu food is still good, but not as good as it once was which is disappointing but still offer the most incredible desserts. Key lime pie!!!
  13. Have you been to Indochine restaurant? It's a mix of Vietnamese - Thai cuisine....honestly, some of the best damn food I've ever had. And, it's got a great vibe. Wilmington area has a phenomenal presence to it as a region...it has some college atmosphere, historical culture, and invigorated development. My parents live in Leland, about 10 minutes from Wilmington, and they've built about 10,000 new homes, miles and miles of hundreds of acres of commercial development across the road from him (road being 4 lane highway)....in 17 years.
  14. My parents live near Wilimington and go to Wrightsville Beach and Kure Beach often....I've down in the middle of summer (going again this year) and it is hotter than a witch's tit! I've also lived in Valdosta and Quitman, GA, middle of the state about 45 minutes to an hour from the Florida border, and if there's a hotter, more humid place...it has to be Africa. Seriously, unbelievably hot in the summer months...I worked contracting, my first job at 15 down there, hanging sheet-rock on the second floor of a loft / garage, woof....anyways, Wilmington is beautiful and I would retire there or Charleston when the day and time come, but right now I like living in Central New York. However, on topic, I would like the Ken Dorsey hire if the Bills hire him...however, I would REALLY love if the Bills found a spot for Darrell Bevell (and of course he wanted to come to Buffalo) on their staff. That to me, would be epic.
  15. Ok, so here's the link following his arrest for his actual words....only to have them followed by the flag-planting scenario and crotch grabbing issue, so if this isn't buffoonery to you, then so be it - but don't act like it's coming from some personal narrative of mine....I don't think the kid has it to be an NFL QB, but if that were all, I would simply say no Thank You and move on...but, when character issues arise out of the most important position in the NFL and it's at least a "possibility" the Bills would draft him, then yes I take note of his character: https://www.foxsports.com/college-football/story/oklahoma-sooners-baker-mayfield-qb-arrest-charges-apology-heisman-trophy-030117 Moreover, I clearly have said at least twice, that even these immature acts are not damning in themselves IMHO, but more the breadth of time they cover and the various ways in which they manifest themselves, meaning it's on field - it's off field - it's disorderly conduct and resisting arrest - and it's poor sportsmanship in the time of victory....those are serious concerns for me. If they're not to you, again - cool, but don't paint me to be someone with an agenda, I'm merely stating my opinion based on fact. To this point, see my statements above for clarification. Thanks.
  16. Here's an article written by Brian Billick from 2014, worth a read for the discussion you're having as it presents both sides, but does come to his own conclusion: http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000388507/article/firstround-quarterbacks-should-start-from-day-1-in-todays-nfl
  17. Again, we will disagree. I personally think he made the right decision. Remember when Jim Kelly went USFL to avoid the Bills? Or when Elway made similar statements and decisions? It happens because it is...a business decision. A decision where they feel their career will have the best trajectory - regardless of their reasons. And considering Eli has won two Super Bowls while Rivers has barely sniffed the playoffs indicates Eli and Archie knew what they were doing. But, we shall agree to disagree, and let it be that. Enjoy your evening Sir and Go Bills!
  18. We can agree to disagree but I think you can be a gentleman and a shrewd business man. Seen it, done it. One is character the other is how you conduct business - you can be a gentleman while making demands. But I think we’ll just agree that these two sides are not to be reconciled.
  19. And earlier in the post to a question asked, I said a guy showing signs of immaturity at age 22 is not difficult to overcome IF that young man is sincere in his interest to grow up....also, Eli’s refusal to play for San Diego was a business decision based on his perceived fit with a team. But that was about who he wanted to play for, not about doing stupid childish things and then refusing to learn from them.
  20. You can’t say no one cares, otherwise you would never have heard of these stories because they wouldn’t be reported. More to the point is you don’t care....and that’s cool, America is a great place for differences of opinion. But, people like me do care - I don’t want a bloviating buffoon to be the QB of a team I love so much and support year-round. I’m not asking him to be perfect or saintly, but Peyton Manning, Drew Brees, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, Philip Rivers, are all guys that can do great work on the field and be a gentleman of integrity and good character. There are others like Russell Wilson and Dak thus far, it’s not asking too much for the QB to be a decent human being without the childish antics.
  21. His last year was littered with some over-the-top gestures and moments in lapse of judgment...IMHO, at 22 you can certainly mature and grow beyond them but you must demonstrate a sincere interest in doing so....to me, his answers after the Ohio State flag-planting were panned and insincere and the groping of his jock further demonstrated that he has yet to grasp the meaning of leadership in terms of character...so, I don't think he'll do well in the NFL in the long run, but I also think his greatest struggle will be with handling the immense responsibility of being a QB off the field in moments when you must allow integrity during the game to prevail if you want to be the face of the franchise, and be respected.
  22. I'm going to go with a special kind of stupid....and I will eat my crow if after 3 years, not one, not two, but 3 years he's meeting or exceeding expectations. RGIII was good for ONE year....I don't Draft a QB in the 1st round to be a 1 year wonder....I draft him to be "THE" answer at QB for 12-15 years.
  23. If I'm the Bills GM, I trade down, but not far....just enough to pick up another 2nd in 2018 and 1st in 2019...which probably keeps me in the top 10 or just outside the top 10 - and this is assuming the Bills STILL have one of the other 1st round picks, so the 1st overall AND another 1st in 2018, making it 3 2nds in 2018 and 2 1st in 2019....IF that were to happen, then I trade back and probably still get a good QB, ala Allen or Rudolph and just keep going BPA since the team needs so much help. Coupled with a strong FA, it could truly be the turning point of the franchise for a decade or more....
  24. I want to clarify some history here - and keep in my mind I'm on record for giving Doug Whaley credit for some really good finds but also failing in other areas as well so to me a balanced and reasoned approach to his tenure - but Buddy nix is responsible for: Gilmore, Dareus, Bradham, and Hogan was signed in 2012 while Buddy was still the GM and Whaley probably had a huge influence on that since he was the Pro Personnel Scout, but Nix was still ultimately responsible for all things personnel related so you have to give him at least equal credit. Darby is solely Whaley as was Watkins, but so was his enormous gift of Draft capital to get him....to me EJ is attributed primarly to Nix - and again I've gone on record several times saying so - but Whaley shares that because while Nix was the GM for the 2013 Draft and therefore it is HIS responsibility to make those picks ultimately, I'm also sure since Whaley was promoted less than a month later, Whaley had a pretty huge stake in that argument as well. To keep in mind Eric Wood, Cordy Glenn and Aaron Williams were also Nix's picks, not to mention Searcy who was starting for the Titans just last week against NE. There are others, I just wanted to put some context to the DW love....again, so you don't misinterpret my statements (unintentionally) that I think DW was great in some respects, ala Pro Scouting, but really NOT good in others, Watkins Draft capital - EJ Manuel (even though it technically belongs to Nix). He Drafted Darby - well done! - Kevon Seymour, signing Richie and Drafting Preston Brown who has had a yo-yo career with the Bills thus far and signing Zack Brown who was terrific in his one year here. All said and done, DW was a .500 level GM and the results on the field were exactly that....although Sexy Rexy had much to do with that too....ugh!!
  25. Please, don’t ask me...I was shouted down and nearly shunned that made this very same suggestion before he went to Philly. Foles is a decent QB, he much better than Tyrod but not nearly as good as the elite. He’s just “good”, not great - but “good” would have changed this team’s fortunes for the last two out of 3 years.
