  1. I do live near Boston... Pete and Fred are probably on official suicide watch...
  2. He is a link to the picture for a Patriots Fan Board. As the poster says, it does not look good...for him Brady's knee - you need to scroll down a little
  3. With the way the line played today... That said, I can't wait till he gets back and the line really starts to roll!!!
  4. Watching on PIP during the commercial, Brady tool a shot to the knee similar to what Carson Palmer took in the playoffs!! He had trouble putting weight on it, and they took him to the locker room. Another thing...it was a completion to Moss but he fell down and fumbled without being touched.
  5. Some people said the same thing about Lynch, which may be true, but once they perform on the field, all is forgiven. The rest is all background noise. I sincerely hope he earns the big contract he is looking for so it is a win-win for all involved.
  6. The circumstances with Peters and Crowell have got me thinking about the team that, much to our chagrine, has been called the Model franchise. The 18-1's have run their organization with the TEAM first attitude that I think the Bills and many other teams would like to emulate. In Peters case, how do think Piolo / Belicheck would have handled it. Exactly the same way the Bills are. There are a number of Pro Bowl players, including a couple on the Offensive Line making less than market value for the sake of the team. They would not be held hostage to a player with 3 years remaininng on a contract. They would simply move on with the players that wanted to be there. In Crowell's case, do you think Belicheck would stand for a player doing what it appears Crowell did at the last minute? - He likely would have done the same thing, since he couldn't cut him outrght now that he was injured. Say what you will, but most of the players on the 18-1's put the team first, and it has helped lead them to a level of success that I am sure we all hope the Bills will attain in the near future.
  7. Now that may actually be interesting... A good chance for some unprepared remarks, which can be fun.
  8. No... They are all, Democrats included, really just speaking to the less than 10% of the population that have not made up their mind yet. Not being one of them, I do not feel inclined to watch. Besides, I am starting Eli tonight on my Fantasy team (as opposed to D. Anderson), and hoping for a big opening night in front of the home fans.
  9. Believe me, I have been around long enough to remember what jerks there were on the teams during the Super Bowl years, but they should up to play every week. I root for the team, not individuals ('its all about the laundry'). If Peters does show up, I will be rooting for him to succeed. For now, it should be treated as if he is out injured and carry on. Something it sounds as if the players on the team have already done.
  10. Yes as he did, as an UDFA that nobody else wanted. In years 3-4 he made substantially more, after the Bills worked with him to help him become the player he was last year. He deserves more money, eventually, but has decided to put all of his desires above that of his teammates, despite the fact that he was scheduled to make millions of dollars. Not the type of guy I really want on the team to be honest, as I find it difficult to root for them. I would just as soon trade him, but not until the off-season when the draft picks that would replace him can have a more immediate impact.
  11. Did I just sleep through the last year or two? If not I am pretty sure they both have contracts for this year.
  12. Great analogy!! I still remember Hal Garner crawling to get that sack. Hopefully this is a case of history repeating itself. Another similarity...the Bills won despite being without there one of their best players for the first four games that year - Bruce Smith
  13. Sorry, I guess I presumed everybody checked the TwoBillsDrive site every hour like me...
  14. I can just picture him walking into the hotel with his pillow, and the look on the guys face with his jersey on after he gave him the high-five.
  15. LED ZEPPELIN Over the Hills and Far Away Many have I loved - Many times been bitten Many times I've gazed along the open road. Many times I've lied - Many times I've listened Many times I've wondered how much there is to know. Many dreams come true and some have silver linings I live for my dream and a pocketful of gold. Mellow is the man who knows what he's been missing Many many men can't see the open road. Many is a word that only leaves you guessing Guessing 'bout a thing you really ought to know, ooh!
  16. I am firmly in the camp that Peters should get paid more money; but, I also think he needs to get to camp and have the Doctors examine him. He can still hold out of practice, but by being in town and cleared to play, he will be holding up his end of the bargain. If he is healthy, the public sentiment, while seemingly around 50/50 currently would push strongly to Peters favor. The Bills would be hard pressed not to give him a healthy increase after what they have already paid out. By not showing up, Peters is giving the Bills an easy excuse to to engage him.
  17. Are we sure he is still alive? Has anybody anywhere seen him? You would have thought that by now one of the Buffalo area television stations would have sent their investigation team out to try and get an exclusive interview...
  18. I actually live in the same town as Bruschi, and have actually had a child on a team with one of his kids. While he does try to stay on the sideline and out of the limelight, those who have interacted with him have said he is an extremely nice guy, and he has given generously when ever asked for a charitable donation, or taking the time out for an appearance. Although, he did give me a brief sideways look when I showed up to one of the games with one of my Bills shirts on. Of course, I whenever I look at him I always think of this : Bruschi is a Golden God btw - his wife is one of the nicest persons you will ever meet.
  19. Who is Michael Silver, and why do I care... And who cares what that short piece of sh#t owner of the Redskins thinks (yes, that is my guess).
  20. I picked up this book to read while on vacation because I have liked some of the movies based on his books (High Fidelity, About a Boy), and his bood 'A Long Way Down'. It is autobiographical and details his fanatacism for his english soccer team Arsenal that developed from the time he was a boy. I must tell you, there were a lot of things that were similar to being a Bills fan and touched close to home, and was very funny. If any of you are interested in reading anything longer than the post on this board, I would highly recommend it.
  21. Agreed. I don't know why some people are so hung up on the statement. He takes responsibility, apologizes to all parties involved, but does not go into specifics because of a pending lawsuit. What else would you expect. No permanent damage was done unless he gets in trouble again, which could probably be said for all of us at one time or another.
  22. Heading to Aruba for a week on Sunday for our 15th Wedding Anniversary, with no kids!!!
  23. This too shall pass... None of us know Marshawn or should pretend to. Who knows what he is thinking at this moment? Hopefully he realizes he got off lucky feels badly about the incident and learns from it, just as any young adult should, but you never know, and personally it does not really have a bearing on whether I hope he does well for the Bills. I never to put to much stock in the 'high character' of a professional athlete or any public figure. Too many times you will only end up disappointed. I believe that most of you who are now down on Marshawn would have had similar reactions to Kelly and the boys back in the day. I never really liked Kelly as a person when he was playing, based on the stories around town (although he did by us a round once ), but I always rooted from him once he put on the uniform. In a few weeks, the season will start and all of this will be forgotten by 99% of you as long as they perform on the field. You may never really like Marshawn because of this, but you will continue to cheer for his contributions on the field.
  24. The Polian/Levy theory is a myth. Living in Buffalo at the time, there were stories on the street that were just as bad about Bruce, Jim and Andre specifically, but that was before the instant information age. Marshawn is a 22 yr old kid that had made a mistake, that he will pay evenutally pay for. Fortunately, nobody was seriously hurt, and hopefully he learns a lesson from it. He is human like every other player on this time. That is why you should ever put any player on a pedestal because you will only end up dissapointed.
