  1. This is only going to get worse (or better depending on your perspective ) A guy called into WEEI this morning discussing the fact that he had to pay $175 a piece for his 5 tickets, and another $50 for parking, and if they are going to play like that, they better get used to the booing. How long until Kraft gives a call to his buddy Goddell to try and getting a secret exemption on the cheating rules.
  2. Interesting analogy, as Kelly went down with an injury just as they were going in for a tying score. I am definitely not saying they were going to win, but after the effort put in to get there (the comeback game), once they saw the writing on the wall, it went down hill quickly. The Pats* are done.
  3. While their 'talent' at DB is going to be exposed all year (see the Delthea O'Neil attempted tackle, and Pennington's 17-20), I do think that their front seven is in the Top 10 in the league, which is why it was so evident that they did not have any desire yesterday. They kept getting knocked completely out of position by a less than average OL, for the entire game. Oakland tried that formation a couple of times yesterday, and had a couple of good runs, but overall it was shut down pretty well.
  4. I believe yesterday is the first phase in a season long lay down by the Pats*. Yes they will win a few more games just based on their weak schedule, but they are definitely not a threat for the division. The reason can be boiled down to simply hunger and desire. This team put everything into last season, and now that they see there quarterback gives them no chance to win the Superbowl, they are not going to be willing or have the desire to put in the effort necessary. Meanwhile, they will be coming up against teams that will enjoy nothing more than exacting a little revenge for their classless attitude last year. Could be fun to watch.
  5. The great thing is that we have to really think about an answer. I REALLY like this team. I know that they have not accomplished anything yet, but I like the personalities of this team even better than the 90's teams, and it all starts with Whitner!!
  6. Well, the fact is that Crowell would not be in the line-up this weekend anyways. I like Ellison, and feel that if the powers that be thought Crowell was that much better, they would have had a different approach to his injury situation.
  7. The amazing thing is that he did almost the exact same thing while a Senior in High School in a nationally televised game. He was running in for an uncontested touchdown and leaped in an attempt to do a flip from the 5yd line, and came up a yard short. He got penalized 15yds for unsportsmanlike conduct as a reward. They block youtube at work so I cannot provide a link, but I am sure you can find it if interested.
  8. Two sides to this argument. Your right, but the way the defenses were playing, playing OT would essentially have been deciding the game with a coin flip. Each team would have very easily gotten into field goal range.
  9. I don't know...wasn't there a Roughing the Passer penalty in the Jets/Pats* game that looked very similar? Oh, that's right, the hit was on Cassell so it had to be a penalty...
  10. That FG attempt at the end of the game was ridiculous, and very Greg-O-esque... (I still can't believe Madden and Michael were so quick to say it was the right call. )
  11. I think that is exactly what Shanahan was doing, and I give him props for doing it.
  12. I like Greer a lot, but Yobouty is really starting to show why he was valued so highly..
  13. As somebody that was there when they were still D-III, and my friend was a walk-on LB for Jim Haslett, I don't think I ever would have seen a highlight of the team on ESPN. They were just Mark May's top May Day play, and the last call on Pump up the Volume. Somewhere, Clipp Smith is smiling.
  14. I know he has been injured, but I believe he may have some potential.
  15. I agree with you, despite the fact I also had a Loni poster on the wall. Since we seem to be discussing that generation how about Catherine Bach - Daisy Duke
  16. I apologize if I missed it, but Farah Fawcett was on my wall Farah Fawcet Poster
  17. I believe he used the Giants, because a significant number of the 'die-hard' Patriots fans used to be Giants fans, and will have no trouble switching allegiances back.
  18. Just want to relay a quick story on the Fair weather fans... My co-workers husband is a 'big' Pats* fan. Last night she was sying that now she will see how big a fan he really is. Then he tells her that his friend has already called him wanting to sell their seats to the Pittsburgh game later this year. (to his credit he said no) Only one week in, and this is shaping up to be one of the most fun seasons in a while.
  19. Corto, Costanzo and DiGiorgio... Sounds like it could be the members of a Crew from the Soprano's...
  20. Sometimes dreams do come true... (If you didn't already you will have to go back to page one of this post) Two years in a row, and we are enjoying some bad new about the Pats* Here's hoping the day is not too far away that they become irrelevant to the point that we do not care anymore...
  21. I am sick of Favre to, but I would rather it be the Bills that bring him and the Jets back to earth, and announce their presence as a team to beat like they did in 1988 (another similarity to that year). Let Favre take one hit from Stroud and lets see how those 39 year old bones feel. The Patriots are down, and they need to be burried!!!
  22. They put so much effort into last year, and with the let down of the Super Bowl loss, and now Brady going down, they are in for an extreme let down. Their defense is not close Championship caliber, and was covered up by the explosive offense last year, which is now gone. Their OL and DB's are well below average, and Maroney is not somebody you can rely on. Belicheck without Brady is something like 41-58!!!
  23. I was actually disappointed last night... I turned into the late sports shows hoping to see them crying, but they were all in denial... 'Cassell looked great' not said - the Chiefs are one of the wost teams in the league. 'They still have more talent than at the other positions than any team in the league' - except for DL and WR, I don't think they have more than the Bills 'They should still be the favorites to win the division' Without the video tapes, and now without Brady, they may not finish .500.
