  1. FA's are a different issue entirely. They go where the money is can be seen by the success they have had getting the personell they have targeted. In this case, TG was not in line for any more money, and was just looking for the extra exposure perk that goes along with being in NYC.
  2. Actually, because the game is in KC they will be able to reschedule their planned ceremony for TG for breaking the record.
  3. Please do that!! I never thought I would ever get sucked into a business conversation while posting on the message board, while at work no less. The irony...
  4. Wikipedia Definition "The legislation establishes new or enhanced standards for all U.S. public company boards, management, and public accounting firms. It does not apply to privately held companies. " Not that Wikipedia is a definitive authority, but this is consistent with my understanding. So, unless he is traded to the Packers, it is not relevant.
  5. It depends on what he wants. By going to NY his exposure to Madison Avenue advertising would be greater, if he is successful there, but I think he could have that now if he wanted. He would also be close to the Networks for future NFL Studio jobs. If that is what he is looking for than you are right Buffalo cannot compete. But, if he wants to accentuate his football credentials, he would be able to do that more in Buffalo than in NYC. He would also be idolized by countless Bills fans if he were part of the team that finally won it all. Your right, he's not coming... now I can relax and go back to checking the Board only 1 every 15 mintues, as opposed to once every 5.
  6. You make a good apoint about upping his profile, but I wouldn't say 'NO WAY'. His stature in this league is pretty well established, so at this point in his career, there is very little incremental increase in national exposure for him if he does go to NYC. I would make the argument that his national stature would actually increase more if he were to come to Buffalo, as he will be seen as the piece that puts them over the top.
  7. If you remove the dates, it is still not hard to tell when that started. Even so, I would still like to have TG here for that price.
  8. I would think that would change with a weapon like TG. Also, with TE's ability to see the whole field, he will see TG when he gets open. I hope they make an announcement soon because I am not getting much work done. This would be an OUTSTANDING move!!
  9. I watched every game last year, and most the year before, (my wife is a BC alum), and my impression of the problem was that the coaches were intent on putting him in a position to win the Heisman last year and forced the team to become very one dimensional. Unfortunately, that dimension included a number of WR's that will never see a pro football field after graduation. If BC had stuck to their overall team strength and used the OL to open running lanes, Ryan and the team actually would have had a much better year overall. Ryan has all the tools and temperment to be a great QB in this league for a long time.
  10. If there was any trepidation on TG's part, maybe they could get his former teammate - Kawika Mitchell - to call him to let him know what a great thing Buffalo has going for it. He could also tell him that being in Buffalo is much better than playing with the Giants. That big city stuff is overrated.
  11. What an outstanding Sunday... It all started when Red Sox lost in extra innings after midnight. Followed by: Dolphins losing on the last play of the game Dallas losing on the blocked punt in OT Patriots getting embarrased by the Chargers Won both my FFL games Won my weekly football pool
  12. I would have to look it up, but one of my favorite monologues was by Mr. Bookman the library cop. 'I've got news for you Joy-boy'
  13. I'll never forget the trips to KC during the early 90's run. Those were never pretty. I don't want to say I expected them to lose, but I told my son before the game that I did not have a good feeling about this game. The loss obviously raised some concerns but should be scene in the context of the entire season. They are still 4-1, have are now 2-1 on the road, and the loss was to an NFC team (crayonz is happy). Also, despite what you might think of the opponents, it was back-to-back road games, playing against a team that had just gotten home after getting pasted last week. They have their Bye week to work on stuff and get ready for the next run. As long as Edwards is healthy, they should be fine. This is a young team, and this will definitely not be the last bump in the road.
  14. I don't think any of the current players have done anything yet. My point was that Simpson is clearly a better tackler and has potential to be better than Kelso overall.
  15. I thought the similarities of this team compared to the foundation of the early 90's teams are really striking. Obviously the have that accomplished anything yet, but it does provide for some nostalgia. Kelly -> Edwards Reich -> Hamden (perhaps not in talent, but definitely in attitude) Thomas -> Lynch Davis -> Jackson Evans -> Reed Wilford -> Peters Conlan -> Poz Talley -> Mitchell Odomes & Willams -> McGee & Greer Postions that are better now: Whitner > Smith Simpson > Kelso Moorman > Mohr Lindell > Norwood Kelsay > Seals Stroud > Wright Key spots that still need to be filled: Hull, Bennet, Lofton, Metzellars, Bruce
  16. Josh Reed During Josh's first couple of years in the league, if my son dropped a pass while we were playing catch in the backyard I would say 'nice catch Josh'. During the game against Oakland he turned to me and said 'I guess when I drop a pass you can't call me Josh anymore'.
  17. But, only if it is against an NFC team
  18. I am really eager to see how the Bills come out the next two games, against tougher teams, especially SD. So far, before each game this season, the limitations of the Bills opponent has been the talk of the week. Thier opponents are fired up knowing they are facing an 'up and coming team'. This is a young team and while they are saying all of the right teams, it is going to affect their mindset. In my opinion the mistakes we have seen in the first halves have been more a matter of concentration than ability. Once they get their head on straight in the locker room, they come out and take care of business. My feeling is that when they are coming against a team that they aren't 'supposed to beat', they will be ready from the opening snap.
  19. Is it possible they cut him, because they need the roster spot, but plan to bring him back later. He might be a little banged up and was going to miss a few weeks. He is not really a risk to be picked up by anybody, and they can just cut McIntyre once he gets back. I am sure it would not cost them too much.
  20. I looked at the penalty twice in slow-motion on the DVR and I just don't get it. Fowler attempted a cut block, but the defender avoided his shoulder pads, but cut his foot on Fowlers legs. It all happened in one motion, I don't know how he makes that call.
  21. But those videos were not supposed to have given them a competitive advantage.
  22. As much as I love Parish, WR/PR is the one position that I think they do have adequate, although young depth. McKelvin showed in pre-season what he can do at PR. And not only does Hardy get on the field more, but I think we get to see Johnson get in some live action.
  23. Of course, one of those teams he played were the very same team that let him go. You think their opinion of him may be a little biased?
  24. I have a hunch our first loss will be at Arizona, which would not be the end of the world. - Out of conference opponent - Keep them hungry to get back on the field after the Bye Week. - Will be ready to roll against SD at home.
