  1. You have been a member since 2010 and you still fall for a crayonz post?
  2. I actually liked Evans a lot, but I never equated him with 'supreme hands'. I felt very badly for him after the drop, but he has not been on the team in over a year and is old news. I prefer to give the current roster the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Easley has shown flashes and hopefully he works out this year, if not, Evans is still not the answer...
  3. How did Evans 'supreme hands' look in the AFC Championsip game? Easley is at least as viable as any draft pick after the top 2 WR's this year.
  4. Don't give up hope. We live 5 miles from Gillette, and my son is 15 so the Pats* have been a top for most of his life. With all their success he started out Patriots fan, but about 5 years ago he completely switched to the Bills (and the Sabres) and has remained loyal despite the crap he gets from his buddies at school. Of course, I feel guilty when those gut wrenching losses occur, but I tell them it builds character.
  5. If you do go to either one of those places, stick to the drinks and enjoy the atmosphere...in my experience the food has been substandard.
  6. I will be making my first visit to Gillette since the "just give it to them"/PI in the endzone game. A friend has season tickets, and he asked me to go earlier in the year, when it looked like it may mean something. I am a little concerned about the potential for a blow-out, but just about anything will be better than my previous experience. As far as Patriot Place, it is really just an open air mall, although the Bass Pro Shops, which is away from the "mall" section is pretty nice.
  7. I don't believe that to be the case with Maybin. We all heard the reports that Wood made to him during training camp. I think there may have been resentment on the team about the money he was making, and lack of productivity, even in practice agains offensive lineman that could not make the team. Granted, you would think the coaching staff would be able to get some value out of him, but there are too many holes on this team to tie that much money up on a guy that is only suited for 5-10 snaps a game.
  8. I have to 2nd C.Biscuit on Spiller. I think he definitely got better as the game went on. It looked as if he was concentrating on going to where the hole was supposed to be in the first part of the game, but it was bottled up. In the 2nd half he kept getting closer to hitting one. The greatest area of improvement will come when he strengthens his legs this off-season so that he is able to break that initial tackle. I am not close to writing him off yet. Also McKelvin did show character and played great on STs. Nobody has ever questioned his athletic ability, and that is what allowed him to excel on his punt coverage. That, and his only job was to tackle the guy, not also have to defend a pass.
  9. I think the more likely candidate is Detroit @ New Orleans or Atlanta @ Houston (both 1pm Fox) However, if they are looking to move a CBS game to replace it, then the Bengals @ Pitt or Titans v. Bills would seem to be the best options, so maybe. I don't think they can take the GB/NYG game because that is the marque late game of the Fox double header.
  10. So is getting one of the best all-time great QB's in the 6th round, but I don't hear the Pats* apologizing for it. The Bills, or should I say us fans deserve a little luck after the past 10 years.
  11. And China is developing a nuclear program... I know it was only a couple of days ago, not the 1960's but I couldn't resist.
  12. Maybe not directly, but he is no longer taking up a roster spot; and, it demonstrated to the rest of the team that no matter where you are drafted, you better buy into the system and perform, or you will be sent packing.
  13. Gailey's time management is one of the things I really like. He called the timeouts when they should be called, and gave his team a chance to score. I think what we are seeing is the difference a highly skilled offensive Head Coach can be for a team.
  14. I think a special mention is warranted for Cory McIntyre on KO coverage yesterday, especially since the Fox did not other than his mouthguard. On two consecutive kick-offs in the first half he made the tackle with a nice stick at the 15 yard line. On the first one, I think he may have also seperated the shoulder of the blocker (#84) first. On the second one, the another guy gave a half-hearted block that Corey tossed aside. Stuff like that just sets a great tone for the team!!
  15. When discussing risk, even in hindsight, the downside should always be considered. Other than the loss of money, which per the Bills Cap situation has had little or not impact, why exactly has it been a bad risk. I was hopeful, but I am not suprised by the result. At the same time, I do not see what the big deal is since he has had little or no impact on the operation of the team. In fact, it could be argued that his off the field efforts have actually helped the team. Probably not to the level of the money he has been paid, but it should still be figured as a mitigating factor.
  16. They say the trade may have actually saved his life, because without it, he would not have had to get a physical and the tumor would have gone undiscovered.
  17. Have you seen the highlights of the Raiders V. Jets? If so, you saw McFadden being able to bust big runs because the Raiders were able to clean out the OLB. That did not happen against the Bills, precisely because Merriman was able to hold the edge. I believe that is what the design of the defense required, and he performed it perfectly. The edge rush is lacking, but he has not played in two years, and is probably still working himself back into full-speed game shape. The were some brief glimpses in the Pats* game and I expect to see more as the season goes on.
  18. I would guess not much different than when they went 0-8 As long as people realize how tough this is, they will not be worried about one loss.
  19. Agreed. I have been fortunate enough to instill the love for the Bills to my son, despite the fact we live 5 miles from Gillette. He and I were definitely disturbing the neighborhood last Sunday, and he could not wait to get to school on Monday. I instantly thought of the Hail Mary PI when the call was made on Nelson in the endzone. Nice to see the calls going the Bills way.
  20. But losing to an NFC team would be a good thing...
  21. I can't think of a missed tackle all year.
  22. While he is definitely better in the DE role, we can still count on him to be caught overpursuing a cut-back, reverse, or counter at points during the game. I think it is a position in need of an upgrade next year, unless Carrington continues to improve.
