  1. During the game, on the endzone camera you could see Josh taking a quick peak out in front of a crossing route before delivering the pass to be sure his WR was not about to get drilled. There have only been a handful of throws all year that left me scratching my head...and a couple of those were because he got his arm hit.
  2. This is the type of game in which promising Bills teams and especially QBs have never lived up to, especially after going down early. This was a statement game and an A+ effort all around especially by Allen.
  3. Marcus Murphy and Keith Ford were the #3 and #4 RB’s last year...I support every effort to improve that and nothing they’ve done so far has broken the bank.
  4. The team had won just 8 games the previous three seasons so coming in the first season (1986) Kelly was the conquering hero...1987 (strike-shortened) the potential was clear but not quite met...going into 1988 there was added pressure to take the team to the next level, which of course he did...and the rest is history.
  5. He was on Carolina...Obviously McBeane are pretty familiar with what they are getting. Based on recent history I am going to trust their opinion. All about the process!!
  6. If I could edit the title and put in the Jets I would...although if they don't beat win I would consider it a fluke. These guys are for real.
  7. Nicest catch was the one that was out of bounds. Not concerned about him one bit.
  8. I really don't give a sh#t what the media thinks. Bills will not get real respect until they actually make the playoffs, and even then only if they win once they get there. I am looking at the big picture, not individual game results. These are games the Bills lose in the past. The Bengals are desperate and at home, and the Bills will not be sneaking up on them. I think the Bills are on the right track and a win will solidify MY feeling that they are ahead of schedule.
  9. As a stand-alone win, yes, beating the NFC Champions in their building is impressive, but as a statement win for the new direction of the franchise this would be a bigger statement win.
  10. As the OP...I guess I should expand upon what I meant (or provide more fodder for criticism). I did not mean to diminish how big the upsets were over Denver and Atlanta. My point was that it says something about a team when they can win the games they are supposed to win, especially on the road. The last 17 years includes quite a few exciting upsets (admittedly not too many back-to-back), but they have not been able to sustain it. Usually the next 'unexpected' loss coincides with the Bills sudden rise in exposure, expectations and power ranking following a fast start or big upset. If the Bills win on the road against a traditionally difficult opponent with all the rising expectations (and injuries) it will be clear evidence that this team is different. I have a very good feeling about McDermott and his level or preparation. If he can keep this team focused, and they come out and control an 'inferior' team on the road it will indeed be very impressive, and not necessarily because of the win. It will show that the team has truly bought in to the PROCESS, and they may finally be on their way to long term success.
  11. Watkins: "They were never going to throw me the ball because he's so damned worried about interceptions."
  12. As impressive as the last two wins have been, it is altogether different to go on the road against a familiar conference opponent as a slight favorite and pull out the victory. It was not too many years ago that the Bills went to Cincinnati 'on a roll' and got their ass handed to them. I am cautiously optimistic at the moment, but get this W and I will be fully on the bandwagon.
  13. After the failed screen pass near the end of the game the players appeared not too bothered that the play didn't work. As they came off, McD was ripping them for not staying focused. Ryan would have been laughing with the players. That is going to pay dividends as the season(s) goes on.
  14. Growing up I loved: Lucius Sanford Isiah Robertson Ben Williams Sherman White Jerry Butler PS That 1980 team was good enough to win it all.
  15. All that matters is results. If dropping in coverage was resulting in the same dominating defense we saw at the end of last year, nobody would care.
  16. Intuitively, it just makes no sense that a defense with that much talent on the DL and statistically 2 of the best corners in the game, is this bad. The only rationale explanation is the scheme they are playing. Fortunately, there is still time to turn it around, especially with the Jax and the Bye the next two weeks.
  17. I have been down this road so many times, that it is tough to be optimistic; but, when I sit back and think about it, outside of QB & TE I can't think of another position where the Bills are not better, and in some cases by a wide margin. Even the coaching talent is as close as it has ever been. I really think the better team is going to win by a similar score as last week, in a very similar game. 27-14
  18. Looking at his Bio he is from Florida originally, and used to cover the Dolphins, so he probably has not been fully indoctrinated yet into the New England mindset.
  19. Looks like somebody hoping to support his Head Coach. You should also not discount how all the other players look at this. They know Rex is going to have their back and which adds that little extra motivation. First post probably makes more sense with the picture attached.
  20. They better, or they are going to have to come up with an excuse as to why their fumbling frequency numbers went up this year.
  21. Beyond the just the deflation (which based just on the fumbling stats is a big deal), I think were the "Integrity of the Game" clause really comes in is Brady's refusal to cooperate fully. The NFL does not have subpoena power, which is why the CBA requires players and teams to fully cooperate with investatigations. Every other team that has been investigated recently (Saints, Baltimore, Miami) has fully cooperated. Ravens players all surrendered their cell phones. The Patriots have already been penalized hard for their non-cooperation and accepted it. I think that was more to do with avoiding public airing of more issues than it was to save Brady. Brady has not, and is still not cooperating, and it will set a very bad precedent for future investigations if he is allowed to get away with it.
  22. Basically they are going to try and get off on a technicality
  23. The concern over the defense is laughable. Rex Ryan has NEVER had a bad defense. Always in or near the Top 10, and hasn't had this much talent to work with since he was DC with the Ravens. The only stat I am really concerned with is number of wins, but this will be a top defense.
  24. & Jermesky and McNally to testify under oath. There is no way they want to go to court.
