  1. Add to that a guy who calls himself "the deflator" and mentions Brady (among other things), takes the footballs into a bathroom to use a non existent urinal before the game, and those balls are found over 1.5 psi below allowable limit. Just another coincidence.
  2. Actually 538 took a serious look at it, and after initially panning it found the findings were significant. http://fivethirtyeight.com/datalab/fivethirtyeight-dissects-the-deflategate-report/
  3. The NFL incompetence was really an opening that Brady and the Pats could have taken advantage of. If in that first press conference Brady, instead of saying he doesn't worry about the balls, said that he asks his equipment guys to get the balls at as low a psi as possible, then it is on the officials to catch it. Then, while a violation, that would have been seen by most as just gamesmanship. His straight denial, accompanied by McNally bringing the balls into the bathroom, exposes the truth to what happened, especially when accompanied by the texts.
  4. I don't agree. Belicheck created the win at all costs environment with SpyGate, and all the other little rule bending he does. Also, he may not have had a direct hand in the deflating, but I'm sure he did not mind the results when it came to the reduction in fumbles.
  5. I ultimately think them not cooperating with the investigation is what the NFL will focus on when handing out the punishment, and it will be severe. The must know, as we all do, that Brady directed those guys to do this, and that they have likely been doing it for quite a while. Unfortunately, they cannot 'prove' that, and even with all the circumstantial evidence, the apologists will have an out. The fact that they were uncooperative is clear cut, and as the article indicates, is unprecedented when compared to recent investigations. This violation is clear cut, and if they do not come down hard on it, it sets a very bad precedent going forward.
  6. I think it may be more like 4-8 games, due to his being uncoopertative during the investigation. The NFL needs to rely on teams and players to cooperate as they do not have subpeona power, therefore, in order to show that nobody is above the league, they will need to set a precedent.
  7. I know the quote comes from the movie but please do not in any way equate Howard Stern with that hack.
  8. Just perusing the arcticles on TBD and it is really striking how easy it is to pick out articles written by Sullivan or Gleason. I am sure this one is written by Jerry, but I refuse to click on it, just to read another in the long line of articles with a negative spin. I am all in favor of writing critical objective articles, but an article before even the draft takes place with that angle adds no value, and unfortunately is indicative of the drivel continuosuly provide. I really think Sullivan may just be shooting for Rodak's job at ESPN.
  9. The 'smoking gun' in this analysis is the dramatic improvement in the rate of fumbles after 2007 to present compared to the league average. Prior to 2006, the Pats were right in line with it, afterward they were better by an unbelievable amount. What could possibly account for that improvement? Quite the coincidence....
  10. Facemask on Bruce against the Bengals (Easiason) in the 1988 AFC Championship game when he actually just had the front of the jersey. When your winning, you don't remember the bad calls.
  11. No, unless it is just to Niagara Falls. Anywhere else, then my interest in football would be limited to fantasy and I would focus my attention on Tottenham Hotspur in the EPL.
  12. I noticed that too. My only thought was that it was applied to the result of the run on that play, but that should have put the ball closer to the 18 yard line. I am still waiting to see the ilegal use of hands penalty they called on Williams. The replay showed that he never touched him, so I would suspect they had the wrong number, but who knows with this crew. Yes...they still should have won the game regardless......
  13. It also did not help that the Saints had an extra week to prepare and watch film, which I am sure helped them to spot the defensive set-up and take advantage.
  14. Don't forget CB. I would prefer they be able to keep Williams at Safety, and McKelvin as quality depth.
  15. Exactly. I would rather go into the season with some optimism. The worst that can happen is that we will be disappointed...again...and then do it all over again next season...
  16. My grandparents lived in West Seneca, and in 1973 I watched the game when OJ broke the 2000 yard barrier. From that day on I was hooked. I lived in Rochester at the time and used to listen to the games on the stereo in the living room when they were not televised.
  17. The contract was not the issue with Fitz. It was that the coach thought he was better than he was, and did not use the talented running backs on the roster effectively. Fitz never should have been forced to try to win games on his arm. He was not good enough.
  18. After seeing how tall Marrone is in that picture with Buddy and Russ, I was struck by how tall he is. Then I started thinking back to all the previous coaches I can recall, and realized that all of them were pretty short. Just another way this pick breaks the mold of past Bills hires.
  19. The only thing that should change is that instead of Choice coming it will be Freddy, which is a significant improvement, especially the way Choice ran during the Miami game. Freddy is a smart man, and I don't think he will begrudge the rotation. In the past, I think part of his concerned stem from not having a contract extension. Now that he is set financially, I think he will settle into whatever is best for the team.
  20. I am fine with the low ranking at this point. It will make it easier to pick up the Bills D late in my Fantasy Draft.
  21. Not expecting much, but curious if any camp watchers have seen him out there? Maybe today after they practice in pads.
  22. Born in Rochester, NY...Grandparents lived in Orchard Park...went to UB...now in North Attleboro, Ma...10 miles from Foxboro
  23. After the draft I started to think about the prospective roster and the potential cuts. Now with the cutting of Florence, it got me thinking about what an upgrade this roster is over the past decade. When is the last time the Bills had cut multiple players (not FA, or trade), that were deemed valuable by other teams? And I am not talking about 'playbook' pick-ups...
