  1. Kind of like giving up a 1st and a 3rd for an unproven back-up QB. Remember how well that worked out for the Bills.
  2. The Patriots were actually well under the cap this year, and they do not get much more old and washed up than Junior Seau.
  3. It was part of a 3-way trade between the Rams / Colts & Bills early in the 87 Season. Bills got Bennet who was holding out on the Colts Indy got Dickerson who was holding out(?) on the Rams and the Rams got Greg Bell and a Draft Pick from the Bills (can't remember what round)
  4. So now those Mock Drafts having the Bills taking him at #12 will actually have to do some research to come up with their pick.
  5. If they were blowing people away, I would agree with you. One day a team, hopefully the Bills, will not make the mistakes that keeps these guys in games. And Troy Brown, the one guy on the team I respect above all others, will not be there to bail them out.
  6. I am through getting emotionally involved in hoping the Patriots lose to another team. It is bad enough when the Bills make stupid mistakes, and the Pats take advantage to win the game. Having another team do it when they have a real opportunity to win is just too frustrating and not worth it. I will go on hoping each week that the Patriots lose, and avoiding Sportstalk, sportscasts, and the newspapers when they don't. The end is coming soon enough. I lived through the mid 80's, I can make it through now.
  7. I agree, I would not bet against them. I get the same feeling from the Pats as I did about the Bills during the early 90's. That nobody was going to beat them (until the SB ) In fact, this game reminds me alot of when the Bills went into Pittsburgh after the Comeback, and I just new they were not going to let Neil O'Donnel beat them. Still, I want them to get crushed. One thing in SD's favor that is not getting a lot of play is that Wade Phillips is one hell of a defensive coordinator, and crushed the Pats in NE early last year.
  8. Living in New England this time of year is unbearable!!!! The 'Nobody respects us' , 'We have Belicheck & Brady' mantra of the fans is nauseating. I honestly respect the Patriots and I am jealous of what they have accomplished. But the air of superiority amongst the fans and media is like nails to a chalkboard. I'm hoping for a complete demolition, unlike last year against the Broncos where they still blame poor officiating. Something like 34-14 would be most gratifying.
  9. Didn't the Bills have a Timeout left at that point, which meant if the Texans had run the ball, they still could have stopped the clock? Since the Bills scored with 19 seconds left, I don't think the lack of a Timeout would have hurt them.
  10. So, any guesses on what Willis says this week when he is asked whether he feels he is still the best RB in the league? You know the question is coming with SD coming to town....
  11. I wasn't in the stands, but I listened to the game on the radio (in the time before DirecTV). I actually remember it being the Jets game, and he had 4 TD's. Unless the recordes were set in two different games, 1 for TD record, and 1 for the yardage record.
  12. Did anybody else notice the number of cut-blocks the pulling Bills OL attempted on LB's. I must have seen it 5-6 times were the LB simply pushed back from the diving OL and made the tackle. I would rather see the OL engage and take the LB out of the play. On the plus side, it does eliminate the possibility of holding calls.
  13. That play was awesome. A lesson to all you youngsters not to drop your head. Fortunately A-Train got a piece of the guy later in the game, because it almost happened again.
  14. Your not really comparing any of our recievers to Harrison are you? Or for that matter equating JP with Manning. Of course talent is a major factor, but a WR's size increases the margin of error.
  15. I don't know. You can't agrue with his production, but receivers can typically fall in the draft, based on thier workouts. He has great hands, but I don't believe he runs under a 4.5. He may not be a third, but could be there in the beginning of the 2nd.
  16. I was wondering the same thing aloud yesterday, after one of the many times JP was pressured on a 5-7 step drop. You bring a very good point on the receivers. Their lack of size may make it more problematic to throw the quick slant. They are unable to adequately use their body to shield the defender from the ball. This makes it easier for the DB to cut the reciever off on his route and possible intercept. After yesterday's game, I noted that a big WR needs to be a priority for the team next year. That kid from ND (Smardje (sp?)) would look good, and may even be available in the 3rd round.
  17. Not to add to the conspiracy theory (alright maybe I am) but this morning when I opened the Globe, I was greated with a picture of Jonathan and Robert Kraft standing with Kyra Sedgewick and some other no name. The Krafts are going to be playing owners of a football team in a New Disney movie. They couldn't find anybody else to play the owners? Of course as you all know, Disney owns ESPN, among other things.
  18. Of course, they don't bring up that also extended the amount of time during the game that they could have ended up losing. They are all playing by the same rules.
  19. Of course if the BIlls had gotten it, it would have been ruled an incomplete.
  20. I saw his smug face on the Boston news last night. It would really make my season if they could knock him around tomorrow.
  21. I apologize for missing a post that ended sometime around noon yesterday. However, it would be interesting to know if the same situation happened to any other team in the league. Obviously, the Bills have not been good enough recently and I am not really a conspiracy theorist but I have been Bills fan a long time, and have seen way too many calls go the other way (Delay of Game call on the Roland Hooks first-down catch .) to not have the thought creep into your mind.
  22. Not that the Pats should need any extra advantages in beating the Bills, but I found this interesting. Since 2002 the Pats have had ample preparation time at last once a year: 2002: 10 days following the Thanksgiving Day game 2003: Opening Day (of course we won that one ) 2004: Prime Time in NE after a Bye 2005: Prime Time in NE after a Bye 2006: Opening Day & After a Bye Coincidence?
