how do you know this is going on? ok maybe talent-less was a bit of an over statement how about, a losing team, and has gotten winning results (so far) in year 2 of his regime?

I was pointing out that the things Simon tried using as examples of Marrone's "schtick" are all created by fans/media...nothing actually ever said by players.... what WE, as fans, THINK about certain skill levels of certain players is most likely quite different than what Marrone and his staff (you know, the professionals) know about their players....how do we, as fans, know Mike Williams talent is any better than Woods/Hogan? The answer is, its probably not, or he would be on the field. How do WE, as fans, know that Urbik is clearly better than the other guards? We dont, we THINK that he is, because of what we have seen... The hate for Marrone as "having it out" for certain players on the team is pure fabrication, and seems like a with hunt The guy is currently getting results, and has taken over a talent-less team and has - through half a season - turned us into a contender, yet some of us want Pegula to clean house and restart the entire "rebuilding process" all over again - the main reason why we have sucked for 15 years is NO CONTINUITY

Someone pleaseeeeee explain to me what Marrones "schtick" is? And why some of us think the players (veterans) hate it? Is there any concrete examples of this or is this all the media driven nonsense (his apparent "dispute" with Hughes, who he's been getting great results out of by the way? His "argument" with the FO after training camp? Not playing mike Williams - who we have not needed because our WRs are doing great - thus causing his agent to request a trade? Also, notice how mike acts on the sidelines, true team player despite his apparent "rift" with his head coach. His demotion of Robert Woods in training camp that worked perfectly and Woods publicly said he needed and benefited from and now he's playing like he should? Or is it his handling of the guard situation where he has not played Urbik for reasons none of us actually know, other than the fact they were trying to ride it out with the rookie and now switched and inserted Urbik?) I'm dying to see what everyone is talking about as far as Marrone and his "schtick"? THANK YOU - sorry to repeat post, must have posted at the same time - this is what I'm saying!

This Game Worries Me More So Than Any Other...
PaattMaann replied to ctk232's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Let's get through the Kansas City game first - then worry about short week Miami (which will be short week for both teams) And Fred expects to be back for the Miami game, at least in his own words -
Great post - until the end, and only because I disagree with you blowing up the coaching staff is a terrible idea, for the sole reason (there are several though, but this one is the most important) that continuity is what breeds success in the NFL - constant turnover of coaching staff and front office has been a major factor in why we have been in rebuild mode for 15 years You may not like marrone (I personally like his mantra of constantly getting better, holding players accountable, not confusing effort with results) but he's getting results, no? Is there public dissension among players? I think you may be reading a little too much into certain players (where has it been said urbik has been sitting because he doesn't kiss marrones ass? Couldn't it just be that we drafted a guy we are high on and thought he would improve the more he played, and that for a while he was showing glimpses of improvement so why pull the plug before it was glaringly obvious we needed too?) and their dislike of Marrone...I see a team that has good chemistry and is being led from the top down The crossman hate I just don't get.....special teams have been pretty damn special I'm not going to touch the Hackett debate because I think - as you pointed out - it's not all on him and he has definitely had success with his passing schemes, and his "predictability" is probably a combination of factors that you mentioned Russ Brandon has been doing a hell of a job marketing and running business side of the buffalo bills for years, I don't get why he would/should be replaced either....as long as he's not making football decisions, which he's not (and you also seem to infer - blindly - that he could be pressuring Whaley into decisions, which I think is unfounded and kind of just wrong), he shouldn't be replaced either Now if Pegula were to bring in an outsider to view the situation and make recommendations in the offseason/next year going forward, that sounds like a progressive and intelligent way to go about continuing to build a winning organization Great post - looking forward to more of these for the 2nd half! Go bills!

I have been trying to figure this out - looks like its DEF a bar, unless someone went through the trouble of writing the drink specials on the black board in their basement haha and in a couple shots I think I see random old white dudes sitting at the bar -

Kansas City; What's going to happen?
PaattMaann replied to Clippers of Nfl's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope the Jets injure every one of their players - dont feel bad about saying it either....ill take a win against a limping team just as much as ill take one against a fully healthy playoff contender.... the ONLY thing that matters is throwing up those W's as stated repeatedly throughout the thread....like last week this game will be won in the trenches, if we can plug gaps/holes and stop Charles, and we can pound the rock....we should win, if not, we will need to count on miracles (which we MIGHT be running out of our share by now) -
Dareus is under our control for two more seasons (contract next year, ability to tag him for the 16/17 season) - yes I want to re-sign him to ensure he is a bill for a long time, but we have the ability to ensure that for at least two more seasons Hughes is a luxury, and if signing that luxury to a 8-10 million a year deal for the next five jeopardizes our ability to upgrade the o-line, add impact players at WR or TR or RB, continue to build franchise wide depth with QUALITY players and re-sign our young stars (Glenn, Gilmore, Watkins, possibly Orton, kiko, etc.) then I'd rather let him walk - situational pass rushers can be had for cheaper and we already have some good DEs on the roster that can contribute immediately Yes we are currently in good cap shape, but I do not want to rush to ruin our good cap position by handing out huge deals to players who may not be worth that kind of money Hughes on a 3 year, 21- 25 mill contract? Maybe I'd be down for that....anything more than 3 years ties up a lot of potentially needed money in the future

What To Take From the Jets Game ?
PaattMaann replied to T master's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
the very premise of the opening of this thread makes it pointless the REASON we should have beaten the Jets handily (and we did by the way) was because they give too many turnovers and have horrible QB play....soooooo, saying "if they didnt throw INTs and have terrible QB play, the game would have been close" is like saying "if we were playing a completely different team"....we beat the Jets because they were what we thought they were....any NFL win is a good win -
Players have to want to resign extensions before their current deals are up though - it's a two way street I agree with OP about bringing in replacements for lost talent - not always easy to do You only have so much money to work with - the current broncos roster is beautifully put together BECAUSE they have hit on their younger drafted players (Thomas's, some linemen and pass rush) - not to mention they have the best QB to ever play the game under center, that can't be overlooked The basic premise of the OP post is sound, it's just in the execution

Yes, parents are douche bags....but then I just think of my 60,000 a year pension when I retire at 55 years old and everything calms down for me -
Yes the blickmann is something I could certainly work up to - but def not laying down the money on that when I haven't even brewed yet haha Great point about keeping notes - seems like a must
-
hmmm thats not a bad idea (the build it yourself pooj) - ill have to consider that...am I lazy and wanna drop some bucks? (Then the only real expense to start would be the turkey fryer for boil) as to the extracts/full grain....I think I will definitely start with extracts, even if im going to do 5 gal. boils....because like you said, they are pretty damn good and its "easier" to start with... Question: if im doing 5 gallon boils wont I need more than a 5 gallon carboy? (room at the top)
-
Thanks for the input so far - I am in the process of reading the free "How to Brew" (2nd half is printing off at work right now haha), some great get started info there... im really torn between "going all out" and buying big enough equipment/stuff to hand full grain brews or "starting small" to see if I like it....im feeling like im going to like it, so why waste time on the stuff just big enough to "try it out".....its the real dilemma I have to solve first.... im looking at buying a turkey fryer (at least 32 QT) to boil in....and pairing that with a starter kit from Extreme Brewing (http://www.amazon.com/Brewers-Best-DELUXE-Brewing-Equipment/dp/B00AC55H24/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1386477856&sr=8-2&keywords=brewers+best) so go big or go home?
-
I want to get into home brewing, I have some ideas about what to do (how the process works), but am looking for suggestions on start up equipment, and places you all go to buy your supplies (barley, hops, etc.) Any information would be appreciated....again, ive got ideas based on a few friends and google, but am looking for any advice any of you home brewers have. Thanks in advance!

I've never said I work hard - other teachers cry about their jobs and how hard they work for "little pay" Me, I say I get overpaid for working half of a calendar year And good link gug - they haven't caught me yet!!!! Mwuahahahahaa -
The league of parity - for the most part Excellent thread OP - please post more often (we could use the influx of fresh thinkers and posters as opposed to the "why EJ sucks", "fire Hackett" and "our o-line is the worst in history" threads) One thought though: since it is the league of parity and there is a razor thin difference between a team going 9-7/10-6 and being the playoffs and finishing 6-10 and watching the playoffs at home or from the 19th hole - why has an organization like the bills went this long without ever finding that "luck" and sneaking into the playoffs? Do we suck so bad that even luck can't help us? : )
-
Draft Shawn Oakman from Baylor, DE - hoping like hell there is a way he falls into the mid 2nd round haha...but highly doubtful....(maybe because teams see him as "too raw"?) 6-9, 280 pounds of pure disruption.... Maybe he can even play guard? I kid, I kid...
-
exactly - thats why they brought this guy in - give boobie the day(s) off on special teams and be the insurance RB in case something happens to the Brown Boobie
-
I'm tired of an offensive coordinator who dials up fumbles in the red zone!!! Is it sooooo hard to call plays where your guys secure the football???? I see other coaches call plays where their guys don't fumble, why can't ours?
-
Well obviously, better ones? Lol
