This doesn’t sound like hating cops:

Agreed, but can either team really afford to pay backups significant $? I do agree that Giants will be looking for cheap players in FA, perhaps they can sign a Bill or two, but I think they will be looking to cut cap $ and build through draft with inexpensive and young FA. I could see McKenzie or Wallace being on their radar.

I am very sorry for your loss and I must say that I enjoyed reading your Dad’s posts.

Gunner's 2022 Mock Draft (v3 and FINAL - p.17!!)
OldTimer1960 replied to GunnerBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
If they can grab Jameson Williams - even if he were to miss much of the upcoming season- that would be worth it, in my opinion (of course assuming that he will eventually make a full recovery). -
At RB, it isn’t just pure speed that matters. Vision, elusiveness, toughness power and ability to help in pass game (blocking or receiving) all matter. is Singletary All Pro? No, but if there is decent blocking, he is pretty good running the rock. He isn’t as much of a receiving threat as we might ideally like. Could they do better? Maybe, but with JA now eating a ton of cap, I think you need to spend the early picks on other spots to get good, cheap labor at more important spots.

I think a CB with top speed has to be a consideration after watching KC WRs run away from the Wallace and Jackson. Interior OL should be a consideration also, perhaps as early as round 1, but I thought OL was OK last night. I think run defense against good offenses is vulnerable, but it isn't what did the Bills in against KC. A LB with speed to go with Edmunds size/speed and Milano's great play. Given Gabe Davis' big games in the playoffs, I don't see a WR early, but would not complain. I am in the camp that believes a really great RB is still valuable, but I don't think that replacing Singletary is imperative. Now, if a truly great RB prospect is available and you think his skills translate to NFL, it might make sense. Interior DL would be helpful, but last half of season I thought Harrison Phillips played well next to Ed Oliver.

The good and the bad (just one each) for you in this game
OldTimer1960 replied to Italian Bills's topic in The Stadium Wall
In those windy conditions, the ball would be blown all over if Allen doesn't throw heaters. If you are going to pass in those conditions, that is how you do it. Unfortunately, it does make the ball harder to catch. -
How confident are you about the Bills going into the playoffs?
OldTimer1960 replied to Steptide's topic in The Stadium Wall
I am not highly confident. This team has been very inconsistent and the AFC playoffs will be stacked. There are no easy outs in the AFC playoffs this year and - at best, Bills will have about a 60% chance of winning each game. If they have to win 3 games to get to SB that is (again at best) .6 * .6 * .6 = about 22% chance to get to the SB. -

Or a terrible loss to a horrible Jags team or a weak effort week 1 against the Steelers… -

Yes, the offense needs to be able to run the ball well when defenses or the weather stifle the passing game. I have been consistent in saying that the RBs are not the biggest problem with the run game. Singletary, Moss and Brenda are a good enough combination for a good offense. The complaints abut Singletary’s and Moss’ speed is way overblown. Maybe, with some commitment to the run game, the OL could be adequate at run blocking. -

I am very glad that they won and credit to the Falcons who played like the playoffs were at stake (they were). Still, not the performance that a serious championship contender should put out there. I want to Billeave, but I see a pretty good team that really is about even with 6 or 7 AFC teams. There will be no easy outs in this year’s playoffs and the only way this team runs that gauntlet is if Josh Allen plays lights out.
