  1. Agree that Wallace wasn’t great, but Jackson failed to beat him out and neither are premier athletes (in NFL terms). It is way past time to invest in this position.
  2. Maybe if they didn’t have to give safety help all the time, they might blitz once in a while to improve the pass rush. I get that the scheme can help weak CBS succeed, but be sure to know that if they didn’t have weak links at CB, they could do more defensively.
  3. A weak vet that costs less than Wallace is, at best, a stop gap. A team that plays 4-2-5 mostly rolling with what they have and a stop-gap vet is asking for a major problem. For sure, if they improve the pass rush significantly, it helps the DBs, but where is pass rush help coming from? I don’t see them being able to afford Chandler Jones who is very good, not great nd Danielle Hunter is a pipe dream who would also cost draft assets that they currently can’t afford to part with.
  4. When your corners are White coming off serious injury, Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis it is a big hole. Tell me where there is a bigger hole on a team that plays 5 DBs as a base defense.
  5. Who is playing #2 CB? Dane Jackson? What if he is playing CB1 with White missing time? It is way past time for serious investment at CB.
  6. Draft one high and one 4th or 5th. CB is a barren wasteland on this team with adequate, not great pass rush.
  7. Pretty much a guarantee of CB in round 1, no matter who is available. It would be a joke rolling into next season with Dane Jackson and Cam Lewis as your CBs with possibility of White missing time or never returning to form. Don’t like maybe having to bypass good players at other positions and/or reach for CB, but it is a very important position with no answers past White coming off of a major injury. Would not surprise me it they take two corners in the first 4 rounds. Unfortunately, likely means that they miss out on some very good WR prospects and probably would be looking at 3rd tier prospects at edge in the 2nd. That doesn’t even consider the poor situation at DT or interior OL. Not the best situation for sure.
  8. This guy has been productive and is a nice complement to Singletary by bringing pass catching skills.
  9. Interesting signing. Likely means no RB in the draft unless very late.
  10. Shenault is MUCH bigger than McKenzie and does the same things, but more productive too. 6’1” 220+ and had 50+ and 60+ receptions in his two NFL seasons. I would not give up too much for a player like him, but for this year’s 3rd I would be quite tempted.
  11. Glad for Trubisky. Good luck to him.
  12. I think Landry would be a good signing and seems to fit the culture of hard workers. WR is a need, but lower than CB and OG - in my opinion. If they don’t re-sign Phillips, DT becomes a bigger need as well.
  13. Chark is an interesting option if he isn’t injured.
  14. That would be a great draft, but completely unrealistic. Neither Wyatt nor Jones will be available at the Bills’ pick in the 2nd round let alone their 3rd pick. I don’t really even expect Wyatt to be available at pick 25.
  15. Plenty of position players have washed out from 3rd round, too.
  16. I am hoping for Ryan Fitzpatrick. I think he would be a great fit as backup.
  17. Good news then, I think I saw him vs. Alabama body catch a few - maybe that was rare. Watched some more of what I can find and I think my criticism wasn’t warranted. He looks plenty fast on the field, too.
  18. Does he catch well enough with his hands? In limited views, I felt like he favored body catching and that would not be good with Allen firing bullets at him.
  19. I don’t think they would have to move up if they want Davis - and I hope they go another direction anyway. He is a freak athlete at that size, but too many concerns for my taste including 1. He lost a bunch of weight for the combine. Why wasn’t he in better shape last season? Is there a motivation issue? 2. He won’t be able to bully NFL OGs as easily as he did college guards - he did play against the best college competition, but that still isn’t the grown men of the NFL. 3. Why didn’t he play a higher percentage of snaps at Georgia? Now, he may be maturing now and might stay in better shape and he certainly has size and talent, but I am not sure enough of those things (and don’t have the ability to interview him and his coaches, trainers, teammates, etc…).
  20. It was a good, not great defense last year that now has glaring holes at CB and DT. Even if Phillips stays, they need reinforcements at DT and CB is a barren wasteland at the moment that requires a FA and a high draft pick to ensure that they are covered if White isn’t ready at the beginning of the season.
  21. That is not the same thing as saying he didn’t do anything bad. All it means is that they did not have enough evidence to indict him as it is a “he says she says” case. That doesn’t mean that he did or did not do anything wrong.
  22. No thanks on McCaffrey. He already has a lot of wear and tear and has started having injuries. High-mileage, undersized RBs are not a good investment, in my opinion.
  23. No team with a good QB not on a rookie contract could afford Mack. That eliminates a lot of teams from being interested and kept trade compensation low.
  24. I wouldn’t say that adding Engram would make this team more physical. Can add some receiving chops in 2 TE sets, but I don’t think he would add much in run blocking.
