  1. I think 2nd for Austin is a bit rich. He is very small, but fast and quick.
  2. “Bundle everything else” is like pulling a few pennies and a lint ball out of your pocket. The two 6ths and 7th won’t buy much in a trade. Except that the Bills don’t have a pick in the 4th. If they traded their 5th, both 6ths and 7th, it might get them into the bottom 1/3 of the 4th.
  3. I like Pierce, big, fast and strong. He isn’t the most agile WR around, though. He isn’t going to out-quick too many DBs.
  4. What is he going to trade to move up? Do you want to give up the 3rd round pick, too? I think they will stay put. There will be good players at 57 and they filled their glaring need. They can now just take BPA at most any position except QB or DL. I like Pierce, big, fast and strong. He isn’t the most agile WR around, though. He isn’t going to out-quick too many DBs.
  5. My untrained eye liked Booth and Gordon better, but if Beane thinks Elam is better, I trust him.
  6. I think that he is good, but he is tiny. I know that there are players who don’t fit height-weight prototypes who do very well in the NFL, but the successful ones are the exception rather than the rule. You may be right that he goes higher than I expect. I think a trade back may be what they hope they can do, but finding a willing trade partner who is offering fair value may be difficult.
  7. My opinion is that end of 2nd is a wee bit high for Calvin Austin.
  8. I think people are really underestimating how many outstanding teams are in the AFC. There are a number of outstanding QBs including Mahommes, Burrows, Wilson, Watson, Herbert, Matt Ryan… and there are high potential youngsters I like Trevor Lawrence and Zach Wilson. Too soon to write off Tua in Miami as well, especially with the WRs and TE they have.
  9. I don’t think Hall is a bad player, but I think some have visions of an instant Hall of Famer. He is not a sure thing especially behind a middling OL. I guess better than Allen have to run so much, but most RBs can take some carries - don’t need to use a first round pick for that. I’ll grant that Hall is a better receiver than Singletary, but not sure he is better than Duke Johnson at receiving.
  10. I don’t know how true the report was, but I have read that Daxton Hill’s interviews with teams were very unimpressive.
  11. I think it will be Kyler Gordon CB Washington
  12. I would never give up that much for Williams
  13. Unless the OL run blocks better than last year, Hall won’t be any better than Singletary. Yes, Hall is probably a better receiver.
  14. I think that is too high of praise for Linderbaum. Very good prospect, but “best center to ever play”?
  15. I think they will take a corner in the first and I think Booth will be gone, so: 1. Kyler Gordon Kind of looking for OL help in 2nd or 3rd, but will say: 2. Jalen Tolbert
  16. Pretty exclusive company in Dickerson. I think Breece Hall is a good 3 down RB prospect and probably not a big reach if he goes in the bottom quarter of round 1. That being said, he doesn’t strike me as really special, just good - I could be wrong on that, but that’s what my untrained eye thinks it sees. I’d rather have a good player at another important position than a good RB who might get 15 carries a game.
  17. Gordon over Elam from Florida all day. McDuffie certainly more hyped, but Gordon has the size that McDuffie doesn’t and Gordon is also a very good athlete (almost 40” vert). In my opinion, his 4.52 forty is not a disqualification.
  18. I’m not a qualified scout, but I watched 2 full games of him and his lack of desire to tackle was stark. I think his coverage was good and he showed effort there. I think that the Bills prioritize tackling for DBs almost as much as coverage ability, so I don’t see Elam as a good fit here. If he were available at 57, they might consider him, but they might rather take a smaller school guy who needs development, but is a willing tackler.
  19. Agree, if there is someone they really want at top of round 2. I would lean towards this year’s 2nd and 3rd rather than 1st and third next year.
  20. Many think we won’t be getting first round talent at 25. This is not considered a top-heavy draft, but more meat and potatoes where you can find solid players in the 2nd or 3rd round. I imagine that you are aware that when trading future picks the are discounted by about a round because the receiving team has to wait a year for it - sort of interest on a loan. So, next year’s first in a trade would be roughly valued as a 2nd this year. Right there you are losing some draft capital, so they need to be really sure that they are right about the player that they trade future picks for.
  21. Assuming that Johnson would go in the top 10 of the 2nd, it is unlikely that they have the ammo without trading picks from next year to move up in round 2 for him - if they do, they won’t have a 3rd at all, much less ability to trade up in 3rd (unless current roster player is traded).
  22. I was with you until the bolded section. Established star QBs in the AFC: Allen Mahommes Burrows Herbert Watson Jackson Matt Ryan Russell Wilson Up and Coming High Upside: Not all these guys will be good, but all high draft picks with talent Trevor Lawrence Zach Wilson Mac Jones Tua
  23. Fair enough. We’ll have to see what Beane thinks of these guys. As another poster said, beyond not being professional scouts, we don’t have access to player character information (interviews with player, coaches, trainers, teachers, etc), injury information- for example heard today that teams are a bit afraid of Kenyon Green’s knee, and we can’t see the players in person to estimate who is already maxed out and who still has room to grow.
  24. For sure, they could do much worse than taking Zion Johnson. Looks to be a very good player with Bills’ preferred football character, helps protect the franchise. Still, not the most important position and he doesn’t seem to have ability to play OT even in a pinch. Why would you call Kyler Gordon “low ceiling”? He has more than adequate speed, though not elite speed, but he has good size and some real explosiveness 39.5” vert. and he is an eager and aggressive tackler.
