  1. What wrs would you like to dress. I think Buff State has a couple healthy ones. Tavon Austin has already shown that he is adequate at best in the NFL. He has speed, so there is that. Count me not in Isaiah Hodgins - love his effort, but he doesn’t get separation and he isn’t strong enough to be a dangerous possession receiver. I think he is a figment of late preseason games. I don’t think Marquez Stevenson is an answer, either. We’ll, I agree that if he isn’t impressive in practice, then sitting is his role. But, I also think the “rookie treatment “ for a mistake early is counterproductive unless backed up by failure in practices.
  2. He has a broken ankle.
  3. Depth Chart: Diggs Davis - really too injured to be effective, but gutting it out McKenzie - concussion, likely out at least 1 game Crowder - out for season broken ankle Kumerow - out, ankle Shakir - likely starting v. Pitt Boy, that is f*cking ugly. Davis should be sitting until healthy, but they NEED a body on the field. Shakir will be fine, I think. Nobody else even has much chance at all of playing this week. Can’t go into a game with only Diggs, Shakir and a seriously hobbled Davis. Who is available? I loved Isaiah Hodgins effort in preseason, but he can’t create separation against preseason fodder. I don’t think he will contribute anything of note in the regular season. None of the other practice squad bunch is likely to help. I guess maybe Tavon Austin could make a play once in a while, but I would not want to count on him much. Do they have $ to sign a vet? Is one available who could be more than just a guy? Is Emmanuel Sanders in shape? Beasley signed elsewhere. TY Hilton? Will Fuller? Things are desperate enough to consider a trade, but really can’t take on significant salary so maybe for a young guy they liked that hasn’t hit it big yet?
  4. Edmunds is really good. I think he is the most under-appreciated player (by fans) that I can remember over >50 years of fandom. People don’t give him credit for the plays that he prevents the opponent from even trying. He is a major factor in the middle of the pass defense and many throws are not even attempted there because of his length and speed. If the Bills can’t resign him, he will be missed more than many think.
  5. Well, I did not Billieve in the first half. Shame on me, but that was a fugly first 29:00. Unbelievable, that the team hung in and came back against a good Ravens team. Even more impressive is doing it with a depleted roster. So many key players out and more playing injured (Davis, Morse). Super impressed with the depleted D. Gave up 20 with 7 due to early turnover. Playing without Oliver and Phillips, the DL still hung in there. Milano was great. Edmunds played well, too. Rousseau has started the season very well. Speaks a lot about Kaiser Elam’s play that we really haven’t been talking about him. Elam’s tackling seems much better now than what I remember of him in college. Whole secondary really held up well. WR position is decimated. They need to sit Davis to let him get healthy, McKenzie will be out with head injury, Crowder had a rough game,…. Going to need Shakir to really step up and hope that Crowder plays better. Need James cook to help in passing game, but doesn’t seem they trust him yet- not sure if it is his pass blocking or early season fumble and drop today, but they need him to contribute. I wonder if Emmanuel Sanders is in shape… OL really needs to do better run blocking. I *hope* the issues are partly lack of continuity because many of them didn’t practice much in preseason with injury and they’ve been missing several OL players early this season.
  6. Extremely impressed by come back. D needs to continue to hold up - pretty incredible with who they are missing.
  7. Problem isn’t the RBs. Run blocking is horrible.
  8. Awful. Time to pack it in for the day.
  9. OL can’t run block and wet/windy conditions require run game.
  10. No chance today. Put the backups in.
  11. OL is worthless in run blocking.
  12. Can’t jump to conclusions about the season until they get healthy, but could be out of playoff hunt before they get healthy.
  13. White, Benford, Ed Oliver, Jordan Phillips, and a BUNCH of guys playing injured, including Gabe Davis and Mitch Morse.
  14. Not looking good. Too many backups and practice squad playing.
  15. Zach Moss, like almost any RB, is dependent on the OL and play calling to give them room to run. The Bills' had, at best, a makeshift OL in the 2nd half yesterday and running room was hard to come by. I'm not saying that Moss is great, but he isn't as bad as people make him out to be. He has some power and he can make a shifty cut now and then. I think the blame is misplaced on the RBs for lack of run game.
  16. Allen is going to have to be great to win this with depleted DL, no Davis and young secondary.
  17. This is a tricky situation. Bills hired an employee (drafted) with no knowledge of the allegations. No charges have been filed against that employee (yet). They were informed of a civil lawsuit against this employee about a month ago (according to their statement). Now, I’m not saying that the allegations are true or that they are false. At this point they are allegations. What is the employer to do in that situation? If they fire the employee based purely on an allegation, that doesn’t seem fair to the employee (who may or may not be guilty). If they don’t fire him, some (many) will argue that they are enabling a criminal or that they are only concerned with winning and not about social issues. It is very easy to sit back and criticize the Bills in this case, but it is not cut and dry what they *should* have done. Again, no judgement from me whether the accusations are true or not. We must let the DA decide whether to prosecute or not and wait for the civil case to make it through court (if it isn’t settled first).
  18. They haven’t stocked the weapon closet like the Bengals have, but Allen (1), Diggs (1+), Cook (2), Knox (3), Davis (4), Singletary (3), Moss (3) were all fairly highly drafted.
  19. You base this opinion of Cook’s character and intelligence on what?
  20. Maybe Gilliam comes in for that, but he isn’t really “blocking TE size”, either. Maybe you are right that they’ll bring in a blocker.
  21. I hope that I’m wrong, but Morris is pretty small for a number 2 TE. He seems to be built a little like Charles Clay, hopefully he can contribute some as a receiving TE, but he isn’t likely to be blowing defenders off the line in the run game. While Sweeney seems able to catch a few passes here and there, I don’t think he is much of a threat and I don’t think he is a very good run blocker- maybe a year removed from a serious COVID bout, he will be stronger?
