  1. Not much chance and no upside to sneaking into the playoffs just to get dominated by a far superior opponent. This is team is not really talented enough to be a real playoff threat and sneaking in would only set the rebuild back further. I hope someday to see a good team that makes the playoffs and is a legitimate threat to win the Super Bowl. This team has way too many holes to be legitimate playoff team.
  2. Welp, don't count on getting a good QB prospect this draft after today's monumental win over the mighty Colts...
  3. This weekend with Bills' meaningless win and KC seemingly rediscovering their offense put a big dent in their ability to trade up. when the Bills need to win, they can't get a break from referees. Today, they ended up with a meaningless and damaging win because of a bogus call by officials that wiped out Indy's 2 point conversion. it is hard to fathom how big a set back this really is - the playoff drought continues endlessly.
  4. THIS is a candidate for worst thread of the year... EVERYONE knew that the Bills were not contenders going into the year. They have overachieved by a wide margin. McDermott should stay at LEAST 3 years.
  5. Well, I'd rather see Peterman. I have low expectations that Peterman can be the answer at QB, but I am sure that Taylor is not the answer unless you have the an all-time great defense and only need to score 14 a game to be a contender.
  6. Another HUGE step back. Dreading yet another year in 2018 without an NFL QB.
  7. WR does not matter until they find a QB. Benjamin, Mathews and Jones with Clay and O’Leary at TE is adequate. Get a decent QB prospect and the look for a wr with some speed in FA or middle of draft. Don’t forget that the D need DL, 2 LBs and some DBs. Still, I’m a convert - whatever they have to spend to find a good QB prospect should trump all other needs.
  8. It is nice that they love Sam Darnold, but if he goes into the draft, they are already out of reach and a few misguided and meaningless wins against Colts and Dolphins will take them further out of reach. i am not saying “tank”, but any wins the rest of the year undermine their ability to improve.
  9. You are OLD! I think that was 365 days ago! Sadly, I am old enough to EASILY remember Ryan Leaf being talked up.
  10. I am with you there. I'd like to see them move up for a truly good QB prospect, eve if it costs both 1st round picks and possibly more. I am just worried that they could get shut-out in that process and end up with a consolation prize. A LOT of their Trade-up-power hinges on them and KC finishing the season weakly. I hate wanting them to lose, but the fewer meaningless games that they win down the stretch the better. Hopefully, they can find a way to play well enough to give us hope, but still lose.
  11. They do have extra pick in rounds 1&2. Let's say that they end up with the 15th and 20th picks in round 1 - (could end up higher or lower depending how they and KC finish. In an average year those picks might get you one pick in the top 5 - if you can find a trade partner. But, given the perception that this is a strong QB class, teams at the top may want to stay there and pick a QB themselves and other teams wanting to trade up will inflate the price to move up.
  12. There has to be a quality option to take or there is a reason not to take a QB. Just because we want to believe that this is a deep and talented QB class, does not necessarily make it so. if none of Rosen, Darnold, Jackson or Mayfield are available, I think we may be out of luck and have to take a desperation shot on someone else later in the draft.
  13. I would be happy if they could get Jackson or Mayfield, but I think they will have to trade up for a shot at either.
  14. I haven’t seen enough to have an opinion on him, but it strikes me that folks are looking too deep because the Bills’ are SO desperate to find a real NFL starting QB. This might be an exceptional class, but it is TRULY rare to find even 3 good QB prospects in a single draft, I can’t believe that ther are 5 or more in this class, no matter how much we want that to be the case. They really MUST get a QB, but they are going to be out of range for a great prospect - they are gonna have to settle on someone who has some redeeming qualities and some flaws and hope that works out.
  15. I am not arguing that Rudolph won’t go in the first, just that he seems to be a consolation prize rather than a great prospect.
  16. I'm feeling a bit down and this post will reflect that... i think that the Bills will mess around and beat the Colts and Miami at least once, while I think KC will also manage to get to 8-8. - hopefully out of the playoffs. With two picks in the late teens, early 20s in round one and a mid and late 2nd, I just can't see how the Bills will be able to move up high enough to get Rosen, Darnold, Jackson or Mayfield - unless Mayfield measures very small. Beyond thos guys, the remaining options probably leave them better off picking other positions and trying to move to the top of the 2nd to take a chance on someone like Josh Allen or settling for Mason Rudolph. Allen and Rudolph don't look like great prospects to me. With Allen you have to talk yourself into believing that his accuracy can improve in the NFL and that his inability to dominate a low level of college competition is all because of his supporting cast. With Rudolph, you somehow have to ignore that his arm strength is middling and his accuracy isn't special - even though he throws a lot of short passes.
  17. I know that both Mathews and Benjamin have been injured. I have a difficult time believing that someone that has been as productive as Mathews over multiple seasons can’t be a big piece of the offensive puzzle. Benjamin has been hurt almost since he arrived, but also has been highly productive in the league. As an aside, Charles Clay was highly productive in the league before arriving here as well. i can’t escape the conclusion that between injuries and subpar QB play, we haven’t seen the potential of Mathews and Benjamin. Still, with Mathews’ contract expiring, not sure I could commit big money to him. I think the long-term play is to keep Benjamin and Zay Jones and add a player with some speed. if you disagree, have a look at what Marquis Goodwin and Robert Woods are doing this season. They were limited by injuries here for sure, but perhaps the QB play here limited them more...
  18. Not really. There were plenty of penalties on that play on both sides. I think the game was over by then - no? I’ll bite, maybe regrettably - what college team did you play on?
  19. Yes and whomever reposted made it sound like anyone would have responded other than the Bills. If that was not you, then my apologies to you.
  20. And you did what when you were playing 5th grade intramural soccer?
  21. Tyrod has been handicapped by injuries to Matthews an Benjamin, but he has surely underachieved with them and Clay.
  22. Yes, Woods is leading the Rams receivers in catches and Watkins is third. Watkins has 28 receptions so far (5 TDS though).
  23. Jordan Matthews averaged 75 receptions per season in his 3 years in Philadelphia. No doubt that he has been hampered by injuries this year, but I conclude that the offense and QB are limiting him.
  24. And the company will pass along rate increases to employees.
