  1. I didn’t want Allen to be playing yet because he really isn’t ready and the talent around him is very weak, but signing a vet now to play is way too late. I understand most of their moves so far, but they really seem intent on destroying Allen before he has even had a chance. He took 3rd team reps most of training camp, they have no OL, they have no WRs, they forced him into the lineup because they had zero viable experienced options on the roster, now they may bench him? I try try not to be harsh on the front office and coaches because I understand they are trying to rebuild and they had cap problems to deal with, but this looks like they completely failed to have any plan in place at QB to allow Allen, whom they spent a lot to acquire, develop properly. If they have to yank Allen for any reason, I think the wheels are coming off and there could be a new GM and coach again next year - and another search for a QB.
  2. Not sure how anyone could have objectively looked at this roster and had high hopes. Before they played one snap, it was clear that the OL and WR positions were bottom 5 in the league from a talent perspective. Never mind that They were going to have a very inexperienced QB as well. Watching this team flounder is frustrating, but I'm not sure that there was really anything that they could have done to have better talent on offense other than not drafting Allen and instead getting some OL help. Even then, there would not have been enough talent on offense to be competitive and then you'd still have to find a QB too - may still have to, but at least they have a QB prospect with physical talent. Hopefully, he won't be ruined physically and mentally by playing with this woeful supporting cast.
  3. He completed nearly 70% of his passes last week. I think that there is evidence that when he has some time to throw and has a reasonable (normal) mix of short, medium and longer throws that he can be accurate. I did not see the use of shorter passes as they did against the Vikings in this game until late. Maybe because Allen wasn't willing to throw them, but I didn't notice them in the routes.
  4. I wonder if having Kareem Hunt, Travis Kielce, Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins has helped his development more.
  5. Be nice to have a good drive against prevent defense
  6. Future does not look bright with bad throws like that.
  7. Don’t know how they ended up with the ball after that, but I’ll take it
  8. Defense has to show some pride and get at least one stop
  9. Agreed - some curious comments from announcers. Not sure how THAT could have been Allen’s fault.
  10. How can you give the defense a pass on this debacle?
  11. Another absolutely shameful effort by the defense. 28 points in the first half without the offense having a turnover? Just awful.
  12. After one half, it is clear that Peterman is not an answer at QB,, yet I really hope that the Bills have the discipline to not force Josh Allen Into the lineup. The combination of problems on the OL and at WR would make it difficult for a seasoned vet to even look decent. Allen is a raw prospect who played at a low level of competition. If he is thrust into the lineup with expectations that he can somehow turn this moribund offense around, the Bills will be looking for a new QB in the draft next year because fans and media will run Allen out of town. Allen is nowhere near ready and his supporting cast is awful. Compare what we've seen of Allen vs Sam Darnold with the Jets. Darnold is much more ready to play now. He processes what he sees faster and he does not have mechanical issues to fix as Allen does. Play Allen with this group at your peril and expect to hear people compare him to EJ Manuel by season's end.
  13. I see it pretty much the same way. I don’t think that McCarron would have looked much better than Peterman with this group, but I’d rather have him back to repack Peterman as the starter instead of having to throw Allen into this disaster. As you said, both the WRs and OL are major problems. Not much chance of success with that combination no matter who plays QB. NOw Allen will be fed to the wolves and it won’t take beyond next game for some to start calling him a bust. I expected the offense to be awful, but I was shocked by how poorly the defense played. I know that they have problems rushing the passer, but i didn’t expect anything like that performance.
  14. Time to start checking out the very top college prospects. Bills are going to have a very early pick in April.
  15. That’s because McCoy is the only player on offense that the Ravens have to respect so they are geared to stop him. They aren’t worried about Murphy beating them.
  16. I would agree, except that it isn’t like the defense is worn out from being on the field all day and finally yielding. They’ve been equally bad as the offense has
  17. I expected the offense to be bad, but VERY disappointed in the defense. Abysmal
  18. Agreed 100%. They jettisoned high salaried players to fix the cap for next year. They know that is going to be painful this season, but it needed to be done.
