  1. I would only *consider* trading him to the Eagles if they got a 2nd for him or if they plan to send Allen to the bench (and then have to draft another QB prospect). Leaving Allen in the lineup with no WRs, no OL and no RB would be a death sentence for his career, yet benching him now is also likely the same.
  2. I don’t know if Anderson is here to mentor or play, but I strongly believe that the Bills’ handling of their expensive (draft capital) rookie QB was poorly thought out. They clearly initially did not want him to play early as they had him taking 3rd team reps for most of camp. However, they completely failed to have a viable stop-gap veteran starter available to play now. Now, with him being forced to play with no other option and a (understandably) very poor supporting cast, it is a certifiable disaster playing an extremely raw rookie behind a very poor OL with literally no NFL starting caliber WR. It is almost as if they are trying to ruin him and have him run out of town before he even understands what life in the NFL is about. I am generally OK with Beane and McDermott, but this appears to me to be a MAJOR mistake. Now, they can’t really backtrack and bench him without most assuming that Allen is a bust. I don’t see a scenario where Allen could reasonably have a chance to recover if he is benched for career backup Anderson. Fans and media would pile on and Allen’s psyche would likely be destroyed. How very unfortunate that the front office could not realize that if the plan was to sit Allen (as Patrick Mahomes was) that they needed a viable veteran alternative.
  3. I would think that having the most punts downed inside the 20 could negatively affect hang time stat as those are generally shorter punts. The inside the 20 stat is important. I am not saying he is great, but you can see the leg strngth. Some more experience and he could be pretty good. Besides, of all the problems that this team has, punter is not in the top 10.
  4. Never understood why that signing was SO unpopular. Ivory has a lot of miles on him, but he showed he still has some left today. His runs were important and his physicality helped equal the tone that the D set.
  5. I stand corrected. Great running drive!
  6. Just watch. I’m hoping, but definitely not expecting a drive by this offense.
  7. Is there a NFL WR on this team? Holmes’ fault all the way.
  8. Well, last year’s defense lacked talent. They needed to shore up the D
  9. Why didn’t they try that half-fake FG play? I’m sure other teams will copy that play now that they’ve shown it.
  10. Here it comes - the halftime deficit
  11. I didn’t want Allen to be playing yet because he really isn’t ready and the talent around him is very weak, but signing a vet now to play is way too late. I understand most of their moves so far, but they really seem intent on destroying Allen before he has even had a chance. He took 3rd team reps most of training camp, they have no OL, they have no WRs, they forced him into the lineup because they had zero viable experienced options on the roster, now they may bench him? I try try not to be harsh on the front office and coaches because I understand they are trying to rebuild and they had cap problems to deal with, but this looks like they completely failed to have any plan in place at QB to allow Allen, whom they spent a lot to acquire, develop properly. If they have to yank Allen for any reason, I think the wheels are coming off and there could be a new GM and coach again next year - and another search for a QB.
  12. Not sure how anyone could have objectively looked at this roster and had high hopes. Before they played one snap, it was clear that the OL and WR positions were bottom 5 in the league from a talent perspective. Never mind that They were going to have a very inexperienced QB as well. Watching this team flounder is frustrating, but I'm not sure that there was really anything that they could have done to have better talent on offense other than not drafting Allen and instead getting some OL help. Even then, there would not have been enough talent on offense to be competitive and then you'd still have to find a QB too - may still have to, but at least they have a QB prospect with physical talent. Hopefully, he won't be ruined physically and mentally by playing with this woeful supporting cast.
  13. He completed nearly 70% of his passes last week. I think that there is evidence that when he has some time to throw and has a reasonable (normal) mix of short, medium and longer throws that he can be accurate. I did not see the use of shorter passes as they did against the Vikings in this game until late. Maybe because Allen wasn't willing to throw them, but I didn't notice them in the routes.
  14. I wonder if having Kareem Hunt, Travis Kielce, Tyreek Hill and Sammy Watkins has helped his development more.
  15. Be nice to have a good drive against prevent defense
  16. Future does not look bright with bad throws like that.
