  1. I was on the fence before, but after beating down the Jets I'm convinced Gailey is the man for the job.
  2. Poor Scott Pioli. He built a strong and highly talented team and blew it all by putting a stooge in the driver's seat.
  3. This is the one game every year that I'm just as happy to see a loss. I'll sacrifice a draft spot for some momentum, but there's no momentum here.
  4. As much as I like Gailey, after tanking down the stretch I'm just not sure how he can maintain credibility and inspire confidence among the players. I'd like to see Nix stick around, even if only for another year. Sure, he's made some mistakes, but I like the talent he's amassed and, aside from whiffing on Russel Wilson, I couldn't in foresight complain with many of his picks. I actually wouldn't mind the stache sticking around for another season. Sure the first half was brutal, but the defense has played respectable football lately (with the exception of Sea, but those guys have been rolling over punks like a redneck trucker). It wouldn't break my heart if they flipped the whole staff, but I wouldn't be dissappointed to see the D get another shot either.
  5. Depending on what you're looking for as a coach, the Bills could be one of (if not the) most desirable destinations of all of these. Chargers - Nice weather, but it's a team in decline with high expectations due to relatively consistent success over the last decade and a big ? as to the QB situation and FO. Unless you believe in Rivers I think this is a poor option. Chiefs - This may be the most attractive landing spot of all. Small market, but the team has a lot of talent that's being misused. Plus, coming off a disasterous season, getting to .500 would be considered a great success. Like Buffalo, they need a QB, but will have a high pick to take one with and it's clear they'll be moving on at that position. Jags - Nice weather, but no visibility, no QB, soft D, and your only star is a RB who's about to get old. Eagles - This could be great or terrible depending on the coach. In Philly you're going to have high expectations and a lot of talent out the gate. But, the QB situation is questionalbe (is Foles the guy?), no O-line to protect whatever QB you go with, a lot of overpaid under-performing talent (especially on D), and a fickle fan base. But a strong organization and big market team probably represents a lot of coach's dream job. Titans - Small market, no QB, no real star power, no D, would have lost to the Bills if Locker played. Browns - The Browns have been as consistently bad as the Bills, save 1 season. Nice young QB/RB combo, but is this Drew Brees/LT or Trent Edwards/Marshawn Lynch? On the plus side, they play hard, keep it close, and could only be a few pieces away from being contenders. Gutting the FO isn't necessarily a good thing; will probably go to someone who has a relationship with the new regime. Cards - Too many missing pieces here. There's a lot of talent on D but the offense is riddled with holes. No real RB, QB situation similar to Buffalo, horrible O-line. The only thing they have on that side of the ball is a great WR who will be 30 next season. Not to mention it's a team that has sucked for generations, save Kurt Warner's stint with the team. Buffalo - Sure, the city is a **** hole and the fans are a bunch of whiny insufferable yankees and the FO has a ****ty track record, but there's a lot here to attract a coach. Solid O-line, dynamic young RB, Lot's of talent on D (a LB away from being solid), and a high pick with which to choose your QB of the future (because unlike a lot of teams with QB issues, there's no question that you're moving on). Plus, after 13 years of no playoffs, expectations are low and success will make you a legend.
  6. I do agree with you that he has a freakish (Lebron like) skill set, with athletic ability that just seems unfathomable in a man of his size. Physically he's all that and a bag of Cool Ranch Doritos. If he can get his mind right and ego under control he could be one of the greats. Time will tell if he lives up to the potential. My only point is that to this juncture, IMO, he has not, nor am I terribly optimistic about the future for him, but I've been proven wrong before.
  7. This would be ideal. My fear is that he'll be gone by the time we pick. The idea that we could pick him up in the 2nd or 3rd is, I believe, a fantasy.
  8. I've got a theory. So this guy's letting these kids use his house, probably an old loser trying to be cool with the kids, and they start to take advantage of him. The kids have no respect for him and start breaking in to steal his ****. He gets wise to what's going on, so he sets the trap. Tells them all he'll be out of town then waits to see who takes the bait. When they break in and come down into the basement he gets to exact his revenge for their betrayal under the guise of shooting home invaders. This explains the preparation and malice behind it all. Now, this isn't Trayvon Martin & I'm not a knee jerk retard who bends reality to fit my narrative, so I'm treating this merely as a theory rather than an assertion of what actually happened, but I think it fits the facts better than anything else I've heard.
  9. I'm kind of glad to see this kid brought down to reality. Don't get me wrong, he seems like a good kid and if he's really the football junkie they say he is he'll probably find some level of success, but the overhyping of this guy really turned me off to him. I think this could have (and would have) been said of JJ Watt at # 3. With QB, if you get a QB good enough to justify a first round pick, ultimately he is good enough to justify a top 5 pick, just because of the importance of the position and scarcity of options. While BPA is usually the best policy in the early rounds, you have to weigh QB a bit higher.
  10. You can hang your hat on all the stats and excuses all you want; that doesn't mean anything come playoff time. When the game is on the line and his team needs him to pull it out he usually falls on his face. He reminds me of a bigger Losman, actually. All deep ball with no short or intermediate game, and he sucks at closing a close one. He's still young enough to learn, but I doubt he puts in the mental effort necessary to do it.
  11. $10 million of that's already gone. So how're you going to get around that?
  12. Of course you keep him. Everybody has always said he'd be a great b/u. Well, then have him as a b/u. You're not getting that money back, so why in God's name would you release him.
  13. It must be you b/c you actually made sense earlier in the Chan Fired thread. On the wagon?
  14. Tebow had more wins in 11 games than Newton in 16. He puts up stats but he doesn't win. And BTW, he has a solid D, top WR, & solid RBs. The Newton apologists sound like sycophants.
  15. I practice a fair amount of psychology and, based on my experience, I've come to the conclusion that there's something wrong with this guy.
  16. Interesting. I'd have thought snuff films were more your thing.
  17. You might want to fill that Bucs team in on this because a lot of them think Gruden brought the energy they needed to get over the hump.
  18. I liked him on The Apprentice.
  19. NOTE TO BOARD: It is no longer appropriate to point out perceptions of QBs based on race. This means if someone compares Geno Smith to Jamarcus Russell you must base any response on the assumption that the comparison is based purely on their play. And race has absolutely nothing to do with the perception that Geno Smith, despite not running in college to amount to anything, is considered the hybrid run/pass QB of the future. Pointing any such obvious truth is likely to offend the low IQ, big p*##¥ segment of the mod community and is therefore strictly forbidden here at PCD.
  20. Kind of a bummer going for QB and WR in a year not terribly strong for either.
  21. The fact that he waited 24 hours & his first move was to seek a lawyer shows he knew it was wrong & trying to avoid punishment. He's got an uphill battle.
  22. The problem is when politicians & pundits call for a ban on assault weapons they are referring exactly to AR-15s & the like. Next time you hear some brainless, dickless, gutless pu$$yhole lib whining about how safe & peaceful our society would be if we only had an assault weapons ban, ask him what's the functional distinction between an "assault rifle" & a semi-automatic hunting rifle. Hint: there isn't one.
  23. Yeah, except for the fact that no matter how you dress it up, it's still much ado about Tarvaris Jackson. Look what Seattle did after replacing him. Look what MN did by replacing him. If we'd been in contention & Fitz got hurt I'd be glad to have him, but this guy is not the answer at QB & he never will be. Saying Fitz is a b/u & we need a franchise QB & then calling for TJ is like complaining about watery American horsepiss & then sending your wife to pick up some Bud Light.
  24. I think, therefore I do. I've been skeptical of this ass hole since the story broke, and I think he should be in prison. But this business of firing warning shots is !@#$ing stupid. When you have an intruder in your house you're supposed to "lie in wait." The best "warning shot is working the slide action on your 12 gauge. You've got the right conclusion on the guy, you just got there the wrong way.
  25. Maybe not. I'm not sure what their cap situation is but I think he'd be a UFA if they don't tag him. No?
