Have I Mentioned Recently How Much I Hate Bicyclists?
Rob's House replied to Chef Jim's topic in Off the Wall Archives
I had a run in with the Spandex Mafia yesterday. I'm driving down a 2 lane road with a 45 MPH limit, and in front of me is a car going 15 MPH with a line of about a dozen d-bags peddling their happy asses down the road. I can't understand why the car in front of me doesn't drive around them, as we're puttering down the road for the next 2 miles at which point the road widens and the car moves into the right lane behind them and I realize it's running interference for these !@#$s. If you want to ride 10 deep that's cool, but go somewhere you're not going to hold up traffic. I wish someone had stuck a baton in their spokes. That would have brightened my day. -
But you were responding to my post which made no mention of or even hinted at cries of a police state (if, however, it was government and not the league or owner that imposed the name change I'm not sure how you would defend that). It's not that you don't approve of the name that's irritating. In fact, if a new team was entertaining it I'd be more understanding of the opposition given the way our castrated society has been conditioned to racial hypersensitivity that goes beyond anything anyone could rationally explain, that people would have a problem with it. But the Skins have been around for decades and are a big deal to a lot of people and making a big deal of it is silly. Further, and the point I was making, is I'm sure a handful of Indians are anxious to jump on the racial/ethnic victim bandwagon and have a grievance to complain about, but by and large the people who seem to whine about this the most are white people who feel good about themselves by taking on someone else's bull **** cause. But everyone's entitled to their own opinion. They think I'm a bigot, I think they're pussies. That's just the way it is.

Poll: Should the "Redskins" name be changed?
Rob's House replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in Off the Wall Archives
If this is a "senitment" thread shouldn't the tag be "sentiment" instead of "Redskins Name"? -
What should the Bills do at #8?
Rob's House replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I agree with most of this, but JHC is too tight in the hips to play corner, he's a better fit at safety. For those who say we should ignore the pass rush b/c we dropped money on it last year, I'd say that's analogous to telling the kitchen manager not to order beef because you already spent money on beef yesterday; nevermind that half the beef spoiled and you have orders to fill. -
No HOF Inductees This Year
Rob's House replied to Rob's House's topic in Major League Baseball's Topics
I disagree with most of this. First, it's not about rewarding the players, the hall of fame is for the fans. Baseball went through a steroid era & a lot of the best players took part. So do you pretend they weren't the dominant stars of the era? Do you change it from the Hall of Fame to the Hall of Virtue. And to each his own, but this whole first ballot thing makes absolutely no sense to me. Just comes off as hubris by the arrogant d-bags that get to vote for it. -
The NFL HOF is only slightly less of a joke than the baseball HOF. Too many of the voters have no greater expertise than your average TBD poster & many suffer from a severe case of cranial rectumitis. I understand the idea of keeping the bar high, but when you're keeping out all-time greats b/c you weren't really a fan, or because they weren't media friendly, you really don't deserve a vote. But you may deserve an ass whoopin for so flippantly weilding a power you don't deserve.

This argument that there's something in the water at USC that keeps QBs from playing well in the NFL (I'm assuming it's water b/c it obviously has nothing to do with offensive system or coaching staff) is probably the most intellectually lazy arguments to pick up traction around here. It makes about as much sense as dismissing a prospect named Mike Williams b/c past players named Mike Williams weren't motivated. I swear I could get more thoughtful analysis out of a 4th grader.

Let's start officially measuring sentiment on TBD
Rob's House replied to Just in Atlanta's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I like the idea. I assume these would have "sentiment" in the tag line to make them easy to search. -
I'd like to take a moment to thank Beyonce....
Rob's House replied to The Poojer's topic in Off the Wall Archives
That'd be more likely to happen if she wasn't throwing her breasts and ass around every chance she gets. Not complaining, because that's the only use I have for her, just sayin. -
Great receivers, but possibly the worst O-Line of any major college football program.

It doesn't matter b/c all Buffalo QBs suck. Name me one Buffalo QB who was good in this century.
-
I thought it was in the main Marrone thread. Like I said, I'm not certain of it.
-
Also dude, "child, please" is not the preferred nomenclature. "Nigga, please," please.
-
I heard (not certain) that Marrone wants to run a West Coast offense, which I also heard (again, not certain) that Barkley is best suited for such a scheme. Could happen.
-
I was thinking Buffalo. If Marrone goes with a West Coast offense it might work w/ his limited arm. Maybe he could be the guy. F-I-T-Z - Fitz! Fitz! Fitz!
-
Fitz is all class. I can't see him being disruptive or divisive. He's also smart. He's had his day in the sun, it hasn't worked out, & he knows his best chance at another shot is being a team-first guy even if that means mentoring his replacement.

If you could cherry pick any 2 NFL players.

Calvin Johnson & AJ Green. Move SJ to the slot. -
Seau brain was damaged (CTE), family sues NFL
Rob's House replied to dayman's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm curious what % of players have CTE and how the % of suicides among players w/ CTE compares w/ % of suicides among the general public. -
What should the Bills do at #8?
Rob's House replied to Solomon Grundy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Assuming someone would go for it I'd be all for trading our first for another team's 1st next year & 2nd or 3rd this year. Take one of the QBs this year & if he plays well great, if not we've got ammo to move up next year & take a top prospect.
