  1. More like I can't prove they were aliens but I believe they were. All I know is they got out of a flying saucer & didn't look like people.
  2. Opportunism at its finest.
  3. It doesn't look like a back track so much as a clarification. He said from the outset that he couldn't prove what was going on in Callahan's mind, but these were the facts.
  4. This topic always reminds me that more than half the people on the board have no idea what they're talking about. Edit: so far so good, but I expect the "more carries for Spiller the better" crowd to chime in heavily.
  5. I think the Vikings would have been pretty happy to have Fitz w/ the title of back-up when they rolled into GB without a QB.
  6. Marqueis Gray could be an interesting pick up. He's 6' 4" 250 lb QB/WR with a good speed & strength combo who looks to go late in the draft, if at all. Could play TE also. http://www.cbssports.com/nfl/draft/players/1631039/marqueis-gray http://www.gophersports.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/gray_marqueis00.html
  7. In a lot of these situations the government is the enabled: the person who brings a dozen big macs to the fatass who can't get out of bed, or gets liquor for the drunk, or gives the smack head money for a fix. Personally I'm okay with a safety net as long as it's really that. Like unemployment insurance, for example. A temporary pick-me-up for hard times. These long term public "assistance" (I.e. Dependency) programs create, enable, & foster a self-destructive culture. Think of the crime associated with public housing projects.
  8. I wasn't given an option there, comrade. But if this little dog & pony show gives you a false sense of security that enables you to reconcile the situation in your mind such that it puts you at ease, then far be it from me to deprive you of that.
  9. It's funny seeing how desperately some people need for this story to be false, as though it would somehow turn their world upside down if this coach threw the SB. For the record, I don't know if he did or didn't. I'm just amused by stooges who speak in impassioned absolutes about things they couldn't possibly know (like all the people who somehow know for a fact that Ray Lewis didn't kill anyone).
  10. He sounded pretty lucid to me. You can argue about his conclusion, but Jon Ritchie backs his story & the unnamed source contradicting him admits he doesn't know much, so why are you guys so sure he's mentally deficient? Is it because in the extremely limited knowledge & imagination of all of you, that you can't quickly conceive of a scenario where you would do that? Is that really it or is there more, because I must have missed the more.
  11. OT, but I didn't want to start a new thread. While Obama is "B word slapping" the GOP the media is enthusiastically sucking him off. ABC "News" just knocked down a straight hour of happy, positive, joyful "coverage" of the inauguration & the universal glee that America is experiencing. Strange how we're not getting the same solemn, matter of fact coverage, with constant reminders of the problems facing the president we saw 8 years ago. I wonder why that is.
  12. Agreed. I don't care if some illiterate half-wit who couldn't find a better job than TSA sees my dick... As far as I'm concerned they can suck my dick. It's the presumption of authority that bugs me.
  13. Love the Trent Edwards play by Brady.
  14. But isn't that true? BTW, your Man[ti] love is inspirational
  15. Anybody got some barbecue sauce?
  16. I didn't believe in them either. Too many really close calls against mediocre opposition throughout the year. I'm preparing to eat some crow, but I'm going to wait to see how this game plays out before I bite down on it.
  17. On the front page of ESPN's NFL page right now the headline reads "You've Been Warned" and goes on to say Colin Kaepernick is a horrible matchup against the Falcons D. I'm interested to see if they're right.
  18. Just out of curiosity, is there some evidence that the Bills plan to get Nassib, or is this all conjecture based solely on the fact that he was the HC's QB in college and the Syracuse OC said (long before he knew he'd be an NFL OC this year) that if he was in the NFL he'd want him?
  19. Maybe, maybe not. I'm not going to make the call either way, but he was one of the most hated men on the planet (primarily for being the richest man on the planet) before he started this. Since then the media has been much friendlier. Again, I'm not saying he did this b/c he thought a good public image was worth the cost, but I'm not assuming he didn't either.
  20. I think we're really close to having the kind of personnel to run a high output offense similar to the Rams when they were the "Greatest show on turf". We've got a pretty good O-line; as I see it we're 1 receiver (Torry Holt) and a QB (I know they had Kurt Warner, but Marc Bulger made that machine work too) away from having it like that: Stevie Johnson is a lot like Isaac Bruce, only not quite as fast TJ Graham could fill the Az-Hakim spot (Az-Hakim had similar speed and similar flaws) David Neson could play the Ricky Proehl spot (not fast but great hands and a knack for finding the soft spot in coverage) CJ Spiller could play the Marshall Faulk role in the passing game I wonder if Terrance Williams could fill the Torry Holt role?
  21. Let's not go crazy here. I mean purple I can see, but pink polka dot is where I draw the line.
  22. I agree. It's just like in Dallas. Chan Gailey would never been fired after taking his team to the playoffs in consecutive years if he were white. oh wait This would almost make sense if Gary Kubiak and Lovie Smith had the same employer. But why let a little thing like common sense interfere with some good quality race baiting?
  23. Come on, man. It's not that hard. If the Bills are 6-4 after 10 games and Fitz breaks his throwing arm, you bet your ass TJ would dress and there's a good possibility he starts. Imagine if we were 6-4, Fitz goes out, Thigpen's our QB, and the only QB behind him is Brad Smith. Do you think in that situation you'd say, "I'd much rather have a 7th round pick and save roughly 2% of the payroll (that won't count against next season's cap) than have a viable b/u QB now that our playoff run is on the line and Brad Smith is our safety net"? The only way your version of events makes sense is if they went into the season expecting to lose.
