  1. I agree whole heartedly. The idea that last year was the year ignores the fact that we never had a chance at either of the two guys that made last year "the year". The Colts weren't trading their pick, and Dan Snyder wasn't going to be outbid, not to mention he had a highter pick to bargain with last year. I think Buddy's right on here and is doing a good job of putting together a good team built on a strong foundation.
  2. His stock can't have risen but so much. Sure, he's played well in the limited action he's seen, but the guy's only got 11 pass attempts on his NFL resume.
  3. "just sayin" is a wonderful phrase. It allows you to say the most offensive **** you want and then absolve yourself of any responsibility just by tacking a "just sayin" on the end.
  4. Fitz: 305 yds, 3 TDs, 0 INTs Spiller: 18 car 125 yds, 6 catches 75 yds, 2 TDs. Bills. 35 Seagulls 14
  5. That's pretty broad. I'd want Then to know who "they" are, then do the analysis I described before. I'd want a breakdown of the gun violence to see what portion of it was coming from what areas & under what circumstances before proceeding with further policy analysis. Again, I'm not looking for an answer. Just thinking out loud...or in print, rather.
  6. We're all having the dialogue right now (shouldn't it be a polylogue? But I digress). There's no perfect world. All we can try to do is maximize the good, minimize the bad, and bang out as many hot chicks as we can. No, because I still don't know what "it" is.
  7. I agree with you. The only problem is when we get into trying to classify crazy & alter the rights for those it applies to things get complicated. Personally, I'd feel better knowing my daughter had an armed cop at the school, & an NRA type gym teacher had a carry concealed permit and a piece he keeps on him, than knowing she's in a "gun free school zone". Not looking for an essay, or even an answer; just illustrating the kind of analysis necessary to draw a meaningful conclusion. I'm curious as to both what "this" is (specifically) & what the basis is for determining it happens with disproportionate frequency here before delving into further analysis.
  8. What, specifically (as opposed to generally) is the problem, what is the presumed cause of the problem, what other factors need to be considered, what are our basis for comparison, how constant are the variables we are not accounting for, what other examples run counter to our theory, and what evidence do we have to support a belief that our proposed solutions will have the desired effect?
  9. If anyone's got any reasonable take on what should be done to prevent things like this I'm all ears. But a bunch of idealistic, knee-jerk, anti-gun rhetoric that selectively ignores the reality of the situation bores me. I agree that these things should be discussed through the prism of politics because politics isn't just an academic exercise. Real people suffer real consequences from the decisions of our political leaders.
  10. It's my celebrity doppelgänger from one of my all time favorite movie scenes.
  11. If he's there in the 3rd then hell yes. FJ isn't getting any younger & it's a 2-back league.
  12. I saw this earlier. It's more an indictment of Politifact, which is a left-wing activist group. According to its own article the "lie" was a misinterpretation of a Bloomberg story by Paul Bedard that was run in the Washington Examiner, & relied on by Romney. It sounds like a case of failure to check your source's source more than an outright lie. It's certainly a stretch to call that the biggest lie of the year.
  13. I agree with your overall sentiments, but this case is a bit different. According to this guy's own words, she posed about as much threat to him as if he had her handcuffed to the radiator when he shot her. Of course I'm sure if that were the case some up-tight law & order ass hole would defend that too.
  14. This is rich. Libs get their guy, get the opposite result, & then tell the people who predicted this "I told you so."
  15. That's where he lost me.
  16. That's just, like, your opinion, man.
  17. Fitz didn't lose the game, Skins aren't trading Cousins w/ RG3 hurt, & for what it would cost to get him we could draft a better prospect.
  18. I think they're keeping Jackson in to help with pass protection.
  19. I believe the Rams will be without their top pass rusher.
  20. Chargers have underperformed for the last 3-4 years, and just don't have the talent now. Stat sheet analysis doesn't show you how those games play out. It is true that Rivers hasn't been clutch over the last season or two, but it's also true that the team around him is responsible for a lot of those drops, picks, & fumbles. Rivers is the best player on the team.
