  1. You don't really seem all that Canadian.
  2. So the evidence is that he broke down a door and was "being violent," whatever that means. But in WEO World he beat her. You sound like a prosecutor. You don't have a whole lot of facts, don't know his side of the story, but you're 100% confident that you know he's guilty and what the punishment should be. And you probably think your presumptuous judgment makes you a swell guy.
  3. BOOM! Great answer. If $15/hr is the minimum anyone should work for why do you pay your employees so much less?
  4. I always tip at a buffet. Not my usual 20-25%, but always a few dollars even if my drink isn't refilled as quickly as I'd like. Not tipping is the same thing as stealing from low wage workers IMO.
  5. That's the long and short of it right there. Not a shred of evidence has been made available to the public, but based on nothing more than accusations many here and elsewhere have already declared him guilty and are calling for penalties. And THEY claim the moral high ground without so much as a hint of irony. They have a kid together. If he's a decent human being he can't just leave that woman alone.
  6. It is to some people. Unless, of course, people have really strong opinions about things they know very little about. Actually, come to think of it, the latter sounds likely.
  7. It looks like this might not be as simple as it seems. Apparently the woman in question is his ex-fiance, they have a child together, and [i think] she's the same one who accused him of DV the last time.
  8. Personally, I don't like corporal punishment. I spanked my daughter a few times when she was young, but I hated it and stopped doing it. And I don't think any 4 year old should be punished that severely. But for us to judge the wrongfulness of his actions, particularly in judging his soul and his intentions, in an egocentric manner may be an injustice in itself. 30 years ago this wouldn't have been a blip on the radar. Now it's a national outrage. It's not unreasonable to assume that AP grew up in a culture that still sees that kind of punishment as acceptable, even healthy. The saying "spare the rod, spoil the child" is so well known because it was so often said. Societal standards may well have evolved for the better, and I'm not even against punishing that behavior to deter recurrence, but I think it's inappropriate to brand this man a POS based on that alone. It's much more appropriate to brand him a POS for voluntarily taking a job that pays him millions of dollars a year and having the audacity to analogize it to slavery
  9. Obviously you've never seen Kevin Costner's "The Postman." Dude, making fun of people for being Canadian is not cool.
  10. Hating on the Jets is something we all can agree on.
  11. Rex got run out because he's not a punk ass tough guy wannabe and therefore the Jersey Jest fan base couldn't relate to him.
  12. I actually know most of the people I'm friends with on FB personally, and thus I have some insight into the social lives of most of them.
  13. I would have hoped you were above this kind of crap. Typical though. Any time someone stands up against the white knight crusade this is to be expected. I've noticed on FB that the guys who are quickest to judge on these matters are the ones that have the least experience with women. Coincidence? I think not.
  14. That might be a better solution. "Kyle Williams Caveman" just doesn't have a real ring to it.
  15. Can the same be said of EJ or is too enigmatic for such judgments?
  16. How can you share something that was never yours to begin with?
  17. Who was the source of that quote?
  18. In fairness to JTSP, "Bush lied, people died" has a better ring to it than "Bush was skeptical but ultimately went with the advice of aides based info provided by multiple intelligence agencies, people died."
  19. This is a bit OT, but the most recent graduation speech I heard was from VA AG Mark Herring. He was awful. It sounded like a campaign speech. He managed to work in some political issues that seemed completely forced and out of place and we're all about his work on those issues with no tie in to the graduating class. It was worse than the guy at my sister's convocation who gave a speech about "idle time" who illustrated how sitting on the couch watching TV leads to watching porn.
  20. ^ Still considers Flutie the greatest Bills QB of all time.
  21. The fact that the guy's had a half dozen or so threads being an undersized 7th round tweener who is poorly suited for our defense and plays a position we're strong at, and you can't think of even one other player who fits a similar profile says it all. Maybe being from MO skews your perspective with this guy, but this situation as it pertains to the bulk of those posting on the topic is exactly how I described it. I'm perfectly content to let others draw whatever conclusions they may about me.
  22. No. Nobody wanted to take a flier on Sam for any legitimate football reason. It's not like he was a first round talent who slid He was projected to be a mid round prospect at best bbefore an abysmal showing at the combine. If you can name one similarly situated player who's ever gotten more than 1 "flier" thread I'll be happy to reconsider my position.
  23. Take your poorly constructed straw man elsewhere. You've refuted nothing I said and made several presumptions that You've apparently pulled straight from your ass. You mention people whose opinion differs from mine. What opinion is that? And where did I say everyone who supports equal rights is grandstanding? If you're going to attack my posts you might want to work in your reading comprehension. I have no problem with the saying; just seemed a little smug in the context you used it.
  24. The mother of your avatar !@#$ed Beerball.
  25. Some people just find it nauseatingly annoying how do many people get off on telling the world how politically correct they are. All those "should we take a flier on Michael Sam" threads really say "look at me; I'm super excited about this guy being gay and I'm more politically correct than most people." It's not Just with gays. It's any and every issue, whether race, sexism, violence against women, etc.) where people see an opportunity to grandstand. Sadly, it seems people actually forget they're grandstanding and actually believe they have a deep passion for this crap that didn't originate with their own self-image. Did you give yourself a pat on the back for that one?
