  1. I'm all for adding talent, and I'm not one who thinks that everyone who's done a bad thing should be blackballed from one particular arbitrarily selected profession, but I hope we don't bring this guy in. Doing so means we cut FJ or we go into the season with 3 aging RBs with a lot of miles on them, and I think FJ brings a lot more value to the team. Rice doesn't appear to have that much tread on the tires.
  2. I'm suddenly realizing that tradition may not be all it's cracked up to be.
  3. No, it wasn't that. I should make it clear that I don't recall the exact amounts, but it showed that household expenditures significantly exceeded household income.
  4. I remember reading years ago (I think it was in Thomas Sowell's The Vision of the Annointed) That the poor spend something like $2 for every $1 they take in. Let that sink in.
  5. So then, what has he done that's detrimental to the league?
  6. Because the inverse is also true, and in either case it's less probative than 2 separate complaintants. Even you must understand that.
  7. It's not just this case and I'm not really defending him. Compared to you I am, but you're a vengeful, retributivist moral crusader who thinks he's got the insight to be the arbiter of justice. Your problem is hubris.
  8. Good God you're dense. I didn't say it's more likely than not that she was lying. I said (in reference to the "where there's smoke" argument) that If it were 2 separate women each independently accusing him then I understand why people would jump to conclusions. However, since it's the same woman who accused him in the first place there's no reason to jump to conclusions because the odds of someone who made a wrongful accusation (IF that happened) in the first place making another one are a lot higher than the odds of 2 separate people making such allegations. It's not that complicated. You should be embarrassed that I had to spell it out like this for you. Hell, you probably still don't get it.
  9. Are you really too stupid to comprehend that sentence? It doesn't mean that either situation happened; it means one is more likely than the other. !@#$ing dumb ****.
  10. Didn't AP only learn of that child's existence right before his death? You're one of the most morally judgmental people I've come across and I've come across quite a lot of self-righteous moral crusaders in my time. If you are a prosecutor then God help anyone who finds himself falling short of Lord WEO's code of conduct. I'd bet everything I own that you don't even live up to your own moral code. The irony is that if you are a prosecutor you've probably inflicted more cruelty than most of the people you condemn, and you probably feel righteous about it.
  11. I claimed no such ****. Learn how to !@#$ing read. Your argument is that the league should punish him for violating the conduct policy even if they don't know he violated the conduct policy because he's been accused and they can. Did it ever occur to you that our justice system is based upon a presumption of innocence because that's the most just way of approaching the issue of punishing conduct and that maybe that's a good policy to follow even if it's not mandated by law?
  12. I think ignorant is a poor choice of words. I'd have used dumb or stupid.
  13. Usually that's true, but there are exceptions. Kurt Warner was on his 4th team when he took the Cards to the SB. Not that I think Cassel is Kurt Warner, but hey, we could get lucky.
  14. I don't sit around actively wishing for it, but I'll have no negative feelings associated with his descension into hell.
  15. Look what he's done. How many lives have been lost or ruined due to his actions. Why would I want him to continue walking the planet? Better yet, why do you?
  16. I got a Craftsman. The first one was a POS that locked up, but I took it back and the second one worked great.
  17. If I had Cassel's money I'd have 10' ceilings.
  18. I wasn't claiming her first accusation was or wasn't false. I'm curious how you know it wasn't false though?
  19. Didn't he miss the season before last when they went to the SB?
  20. That's a good point. I did my deck without earplugs once and had a ringing in my ears for 2 days.
  21. I'd recommend going with gas, but I prefer power to convenience.
  22. !@#$ 'em. I don't care if it's cancer, a heart attack, or a fiery crash; I just hope the dirty POS is killed off in the near future. The sooner the better.
  23. I did jump in without much review beyond what was in this thread and the link I posted, but I didn't take his side; I just pointed out the willingness of many to jump to conclusions. When I thought this was another woman accusing him the presumption made a little more sense. But knowing it's the same woman changes the equation because the odds of 1 person wrongfully accusing him twice are considerably higher than two separate people wrongfully accusing him. For all I know he could be an abusive scumbag and she's just trying to raise her child in safety; or he could just be a guy in a bad situation dealing with a crazy B word who has his kid and likes to call the cops; or it could be a case where you've got 2 !@#$s and an innocent kid stuck in the middle. All are plausible, but a lot of people pick the one that fits their narrative and run with it. And it seems to me you settled on the 1st option a long time ago.
