Sports posters are just like sports cards. When you're a kid they're tokens of your idols. When you're an adult they're pictures of men.

How much is your typical cell phone bill?
Rob's House replied to Canadian Bills Fan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
2 phones, 6 Gb shared, unlimited talk & text - $140. AT&T -
In fairness to dipshit, in the liberal mind being a racist is on par with murder and child molestation, so it's not all that outrageous of a comment in his bubble.

The first one you listed is the only scenario I'd even be open to hearing further discussion. In the second two, I'm really sorry for their situation, but cutting up a living baby that feels pain is not an acceptable solution to either scenario. I'm having a hard time thinking of a scenario under the first that would be acceptable.

It makes me want to throw up. Torturing a baby, even if it is terminal, is inexcusable IMO even if it is safer for the mother.

http://www.lifenews.com/2015/06/02/kansas-abortion-clinic-sues-to-stop-ban-on-dismemberment-abortions-tearing-babies-limb-from-limb/ This is disgusting. I want to hear someone pitch the case for dismemberment abortions.

I didn't even realize there was such a term until right now. The smug self-righteousness is nauseating. My misanthropy is spiking

This is the part that gets me. It's like there's a contingency of policially correct !@#$s that have to take everything to a level of absurdity. Now some of them act as though it's both incorrect and offensive to refer to a dude with breasts and a dress as he, science be damned.

I see. I'm more inclined to attribute the difference more to the changing nature of insurance and how it is regulated, but we could discuss that for days. I don't see a big problem with having some minimal level of medical service for indigents, but I'm guessing where we differ is the level of service provided. -
McCoy contract good/bad? Will he last?
Rob's House replied to Dibs's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I have mixed feelings. It's highly likely that by the end of his 3rd year he'll be a JAG. He's got a lot of miles on him, and the quick-twitch speed and agility that separate him from the pack are among the first to go. The odds of him being worth what he's scheduled to make in the last 2 years of his deal are slim. The fact that the dead money to cut him in his final year is relatively low makes it better, but I don't understand why the extension in the first place. Was it just to make him happy? And why would you pay millions of dollars to placate a disgruntled player who's already playing under a fair contract? -
I don't find any of this surprising. I haven't completely discounted her chances because I've learned not to overestimate the intelligence of the general public on such matters, but I've been telling friends who think she's a shoo in, not to bet on it. We can talk about her record of accomplishments (or lack thereof), her cradle to grave nanny state policies, or her !@#$ ups as SoS all we want, but her Achilles heel is that she sucks at being a person and sucks even worse at connecting with others. In addition to being generally unlikable, she's transparently fake. It's not like her staged "spontaneity" tour was a revelation. Anyone who's vaguely followed politics over the last 2 or 3 decades knows about her bogus accents and stories. And the way she does that fake laugh, or how she always has that fake smile plastered to her face, screams insincerity. Add to all of that, her populist rhetoric doesn't mesh well at all with the pampered elitist who was born with a silver spoon in her mouth and has spent the bulk of her adult life in the lap of luxury being waited on hand and foot. Similarly, her independent feminist persona betrays the reality of a woman who coasted on her daddy's coattails up to the point that she could grab a hold of her husband's coattails which she now hopes to ride into the Whitehouse. And unfortunately for her, everybody (including her supporters) knows all of this. They know she's a phoney stuffed pants-suit trying to service her own ends. And while her political allies may choose to ignore that on account of shared ideology, most people will not.

So, the "problem" is that the middle class were getting a lot better care under the private system than under the socialized model? -

Rob's House replied to birdog1960's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The element that throws the system off is envy and/or guilt masquerading as compassion. If you have a public health care system there necessarily have to be spending limits put in place because (as I've said here at least a dozen times) you can't provide everyone unlimited access to the most advanced medical technology known to man, because we literally don't have the resources for it. The problem the "compassionate" crowd has is you having the ability to willingly spend your own money on treatment that isn't covered. See, to them it's a problem, not because it hurts anyone else, but because it's not "fair" that you got to live where someone else didn't. So they'd prefer that you for too. And they call it compassion. -

Jags awarded Jeff Tuel off waivers
Rob's House replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Maybe it says more about how bad out QB situation was than it does how good Tuel was, but when he played it was the first and only time all year we had a QB that looked comfortable in the pocket and had a feel for what was going on around him. Kind of like when Trent Edwards looked awesome coming in for Losman because it had been a while since we'd seen a guy who could convert a 3rd and 4 with a 5 yd check down pass. -

Is the incivility really that extreme over here? I know we make fun of and call each other idiots from time to time, but with the exception of the occasional spat between posters, or beating up on an insufferable troll like gatorboy, do you really think the tone here is all that hostile? -

Anyone who can't handle a little **** talking on an anonymous (or semi-anonymous) message board has problems. I think the real reason so many avoid this place is that you can't come into an argument high on conviction and low on knowledge without being exposed. And most people's political beliefs are based on a pretty flimsy foundation. -

Matt Simms has good chance to make team
Rob's House replied to mead107's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Really? Drawing a line in the sand over that trio? Same reason we cut Tuel. He was Rex's guy just like Tuel was Marrone's guy. The new regime didn't see in him what the old one did.
