They defended him pretty well before too. They just really nailed it after.
-
Or he was on a bad trip with something that lots of people have tried recreationally. It’s sometimes hard to tell if these guys need help or just to be embarrassed so they don’t dabble again
-
He was 10-20 for 97 yards and an interception Even his 4 td game in his first year he was 11-23 for 165 yards he was objectively not good that year. If you extrapolate out his stats he would’ve been sub 3000 yards with like 12 tds and 14 ints with a robust 56% and 6.1 ypa for efficiency stats

Greg Gabriel Short Article On The Bills Drafting a QB
NoSaint replied to ndirish1978's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think declaring either of our guys second tier is pretty optimistic at this point. -
The concussion was major - didn’t he also have an issue with a football related injury where he could’ve had major (life threatening?) side effects? I can’t blame him for being timid. thing was he was never THAT good of a qb for us. Decent, especially as a mid round pick. But even in that concussion season he only had one game over 65% before the hit, and hadn’t thrown for 2 tds in a game yet that season. Through 4 games he had 4 tds and 4 turnovers. The year prior he started 9 games and finished with 7 tds and 8 picks. 4 of those 7 tds in a single game. And overall sub-60% completions. People act like he was a hall of famer in the making but I think he was just a marginal talent that the league caught up to (sure maybe he was a bit more timid after the hit- but I think the downward trend would’ve come regardless)

Bingo. quite frankly, we cut, let walk or traded every 1, 2 and most 3s in pretty much a single offseason and survived. and it’s not like our roster is so disheveled that no rookie could ever survive. the risk is terribly overstated by many and rewards would be priceless. Play the game and minimize the cost but ultimately— go get your guy.

But... ummm... why not post the rankings you created if insisting on starting the new thread instead of using the existing thread you posted in?

Wait, you made a post on this topic in another thread then started a new thread and didn’t even include that posts content? is this one of those parody threads?!?

Enough with The Whinging About Starting New Threads

Yea, shocking that you walk into an established community and tell them to find somewhere else to go and it gets push back. Im all for new folks and the board evolving... but if you are walking into a country bar and hitting the jukebox with techno and telling off the folks that have been there for 20 years... yea, it might be a “you issue” and not the bars fault. That’s not a private club, that’s just being respectful of communities that you are newly entering. not a terribly big deal- the guys that pull that tend to flame out pretty quickly. -
Last year we had two more players with pro bowls on the depth chart and still traded up to add dawkins. Based on the losses of glenn and wood, and comparing adding a guy like bodine to ducasse and Dawkins... I have a hard time buying either part of your argument

One might argue that the new guy that wants change should be the one starting his own board, not the dozens of guys that started this board and have been coming for years (decades for the originals) I always liken it to walking into the neighborhood bar — do you respect the regulars or tell them to get out if they don’t like you? -
I think there’s a lot more that needs to come into play here for a real discussion. We are talking a decrease of less than 16 inches and starting at 2012 is like a 9 inch gap. Obviously methodology needs explanation... but also things like how the spread on distance actually breaks down by ranges before making assessments. Agreed but at, say, 35-ish passes a game... where those 15 air yards went can be as subtle as 1 screen pass instead of a throw at the in the mid range for instance. Or using the one year shorter window it’s like 9 yards a game different in the air. Which effects outcomes but is it a drastic change in the structure of Nfl offenses?

Why is Derrius Guice showing up at #22 for the Bills?
NoSaint replied to Punt75's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It wouldn’t be my first choice but I think any outsider likely sees a 30 year old feature back with a ton of carries. -
This will be an interesting crossroads does the guy get into trouble leaving the mentorship of Patrick Peterson and being much closer to the former bad influences of Nola

I’ll mention again, I’m good with him coming off the wall. In case anyone was wondering.

Saints owner Tom Benson passes
NoSaint replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Definitely a spot where what someone wants to have happen or thinks will happen may not come to fruition but we all know you are good at weighing sources and sharing accurately hes such an interesting case as an owner. You may feel different but it seemed he really wanted to move, not just used it as leverage. But he also gave a small market in Nola a championship (after decades of failure).... it’s one of those spots where his legacy is messy but the city’s relationship with the team is rock solid. While I think Ralph went to the wall for buffalo, I think New Orleans (and benson) got lucky that he wasn’t able to move the saints. -
I Guess The Market Is Dry For EJ and Preston Brown
NoSaint replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Seeing zach brown, a more athletic lb, struggle to get the deal he wanted the last few years left me feeling like brown wouldn’t be getting the brinks truck. gaines I think still sees a pay day - cb vs lb is a different discussion. That said, the longer he lingers the better our shot -

In this case I think it’s likely wise to listen to Kirby about the difference between what’s on paper vs what’s in hearts and minds. my impression is that the plan is there but it’s very possible it ends up a band aid and not a true long term solution. -
Its so tricky to peg early qb draft slots. Unlike the top lb or wr who will land in a pretty tight range — one gm disliking a qb can see a fall from 4 to 25 all of a sudden every team getting decent place holders might slow the run run a bit... or not at all

Sammy Watwins to KC on a 3 Year Deal
NoSaint replied to *******'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Thats monster- essentially a2 year 34m fully guaranteed with a third year option at a discount of 14m.... -
Easy - would you rather sign shady (or any in their prime feature back) and get the first qb for about 10-15m per year for the pair or Bradford and Barkley for 20-25m per year or cousins and Barkley for 35+ per year
-
Though please baby Jesus don’t let them create long term dead cap issues for RB with a ton of miles that will be 30 before camp. can and should are very different things here for that player. You want to target guys that you fully expect to fulfill their contract if restructuring May as well always push it later. You can rollover any unused. Essentially if you can be disciplined with your credit card it can give you flexibility, but if you are reckless you can get into trouble.
-
I doubt that’s the incentive... I’ll bet it’s tied to percentage of snaps and the sliding scale likely gets him there far lower than 100% not a big deal but just the more likely structure
-
Because they probably aren’t wildly different talents...
-
Other than disengaging I’m at a loss for how to respond to “just go over the cap”
