  1. Just because your QB has some bad games and makes some suspect throws doesn't mean you should give up on him.
  2. Agreed, personally, I feel like if the previous coaches didn't 6 then neither should Chan. If we are out of the playoff race by December again next year he needs to be let go. It seems like Fitz gets a lot of blame and Chan has been getting too much of a pass for our second half collapse and I just don't understand that.
  3. I just this morning got around to seeing the highlights from the Lions/Packers game and Matt Flynn was spot on to receivers who were well covered in some cases. And these weren't just great receivers making nice catches, these were guys getting hit well in stride. I recall him playing well against the Patriots last year in a game that Rogers had to miss. I'm not giving up on Fitz but if we have a chance to get Matt Flynn without having to give much up, we should definitely take it.
  4. Interesting tidbit of info, ever since the NFL moved to the 4 team divisions in 02 teams who have entered the playoffs at 8-8 or worse are 4-0 in the first round: 2004 (8-8) Minnesota 31 Green Bay 17 2004 (8-8) St Louis 27 Seattle 20 2008 (8-8) San Diego 23 Indianapolis 17 ot 2010 (7-9) Seattle 41 New Orleans 36
  5. I could see this game ending 6-0 or something like that (whereas the Lions/Saints game could end up 45-38) but I just don't see Denver being able to move the ball at all in this game to even have a chance to win. The only way I believe Denver stands a chance is if they force some turnovers deep in Pittsburgh territory cause the Steelers offense has been pretty sluggish lately even when Mendenhall has played.
  6. Hopefully the Dolphins will win this won for Jason Taylor so that he can end his career on a high note.
  7. RGIII in a heartbeat. Honestly, I don't think it would be too crazy to take him over Luck either.
  8. It would be great if we won and either Pitt or Balt won to knock NE out of home field advantage. At this point, even if you are a "lose for a better draft pick" person, I just don't see much of a difference in talent pool between what 7-9 will get us versus 6-10.
  9. I grew up on Kelly vs Marino however I've found myself rooting for the Dolphins when they play the Patriots and Jets lately. Infact, I hope they beat both teams in these last 2 weeks. So I guess it just depends on who is doing well at the time amongst out division rivals.
  10. I will never understand why we passed him up when he wanted to come. If someone can make the Browns a contender, despite the fact that it was decades ago, take him. At least it goes to show that there ARE at least some talented coaches who do want to come to Buffalo.
  11. Florence has taken a lot of criticism and it has been well deserved. But what did everyone thing of the TD pass to Brandon Marshall in the 3rd quarter? I know, why dwell on one play? I only ask because we debated this at the Bills bar I was at. I personally felt like Florence covered him as well as anyone could have and Matt Moore just threw a perfect pass. Even someone like Revis, IMO, could not have done any better in coverage. So what's the verdict, good pass or poor coverage?
  12. Same could easily be said last year. There were reasons we could have beaten the Ravens, Steelers, Chiefs, and Bears last year. We would have beaten 4 playoff teams and finished 8-8. In the end, if we were 8-5 right now I think it would just set us up for heartbreak later in the season. I don't want to stink and have a good record because we were on a roll in some early season games. I want to actually be good and competitive on a consistent week to week basis whether or not that's even close to happening.
  13. One that isn't mentioned much was the 10-3 loss to the 49ers a few years ago. To a certain degree I tend to find that one a little more embarrassing than the Cleveland game that ended similarly because going into the 49er game we at least still had a reasonable shot at the playoffs. Mike Singletary was still in an interim head coach role.
  14. Detroit actually already has us beat by literally a few hours. The same day we played our last playoff game they played thier last playoff game in an evening game. The Lions can be a good example of how to get better. Once you get rid of the people who don't know how to draft (Matt Millen) and bring in people who know how to build a team then those high draft picks year after year will eventually start to pay off.
  15. I felt the same way on 11/18/07
  16. The whole talk of Peyton Manning getting the MVP this year is a little over the top. It's suppose to go to the most valuable player that year not the guy who was officially proven to be the most valuable for the previous 13.
  17. I'll admit to being wrong about both guys picked ahead of Dareus. Oh well, just glad we don't have to live with the regret of passing them up.
  18. These are good, however I don't understand the Broncos nor Falcons logo (I see it's an angry bird, just not sure how it applies).
  19. Call me optimistic or call me delusional but I'm still a BILLiever.
  20. Yeah, I posted that before hearing this news. I wonder if they'll try to sign Garrard.
  21. Exactly! The Texans are the best team no one is talking about. They have been playing without their star receiver for 6 games and are still putting up points and winning games. The D has improved and I don't think they would have lost to the Raiders if they hadn't played them right after Al Davis died. They look like the best all around team in the AFC right now IMO.
  22. No problem with it whatsoever. It was certainly the least of my complaints about the way we played today.
