  1. Good, they can have him. Infact, I think we just found the team that we can trade down with.
  2. I will admit I was a believer in Trent for a period of time. The game where I really knew I was wrong about him was the MNF game against Cleveland where he threw three pics to begin the game. There is a youtube video I was watching yesterday which included a game from a few years ago where we whooped Miami. He was spot on in that game and he actually threw the ball downfield. As I watched I kept thinking 'why couldn't we have seen this TE more often?'
  3. I said Gabbert just because I think he is the best QB coming out and I think physically he has the best chance (height, strength, arm, etc). But I'm really not sold on this year's QB class. I couldn't even say other because there's really no one else I'm confident in except for maybe Devlin as a sleeper.
  4. Correct me if I'm wrong but wasn't he hurt his first season?
  5. +1 I haven't seen much mention of Bowers being our first pick around here and I can only hope that is because people think he won't be available for our pick. If he is still there at #3 and we pass him up we've made a big mistake.
  6. I knew this rule existed in other leagues (CFL I believe) but I didn't realize it existed in the NFL. Interesting.
  7. +2 As for the list, I think we are at a good spot though I feel like our 1990 team was better than the 92 Forty Niners.
  8. Not sure how I'd react to a win but a loss? It would depend upon how we lost. If it was a blowout or we were just simply out-played I'd be bummed but then start to think of next season. However a close loss (such as the painful one 20 years ago tonight) I would probably agonize over every play all off-season thinking that play could have changed the outcome.
  9. Maybe they weren't intended to open up the passing game but that's exactly what they have done. Defenders and pass rushers have eased up because of these rules and that has made a big difference in opening up the passing game.
  10. Does it matter? Still a crappy way to treat an employee
  11. The few Steelers fans at our office have been wearing their gear since beating the Ravens last week and they wore their gear a couple years ago after beating Baltimore in the championship game. As heart breaking as those losses were for Ravens fans they were good sports and let them wear the gear. I hope this guy finds another car sales job and runs his old dealership out of business.
  12. The Packers had decades of futility too. In the twenty some years between the Lombardi/Starr years and the Holmgrem/Favre years they went to the playoffs maybe twice.
  13. Actually, the defense was crapping the bed in the second half (goal line stance aside). I really believe that if Ben didn't convert those first downs to salt the game away that Sanchez would have lead the Jets down the field and won the game at the end. Ben did good enough yesterday but I will agree that Mendenhall helped out a lot.
  14. Cutler got lucky that Seattle's secondary dropped so many INTs on Sunday. Tramon Williams and Charles Woodson won't be dropping those balls so good luck.
  15. Perry Fewell was able to. With the Pats having almost that same talent (less Hernandez and Gronkowski but plus Moss) we played them towards the end of the season the year before and only lost by a touchdown.
  16. The Jets and Pats make the Dolphins seem a lot more likeable. Never thought I'd hear myself say that.
  17. The Dolphins of the 70s owned us but we were eventually able to beat them. Not counting week 16 we've come close in recent games so I say yes, we will finally end the losing streak and I believe it will happen sooner than people may think. Brady isn't going to be great forever.
  18. It's a great break from the usual post game cliches: We brought our A game tonight; We just had their number; This is our year; etc.
  19. I've just heard people say that they think it is old but I went to my first Bills game (from out of town) a few months ago and I thought it was fine. I also think it's in a great area in the suburbs instead of downtown in the congestion of a city like other stadiums are.
  20. Green, Nelson, Johnson, Evans, and Parrish. I would like having that set of wide receivers. Perhaps the only offensive player I'd be happy with us drafting at #3.
  21. So can we now put the Cam Newton as our first pick talks to rest?
  22. In the meantime, Jabari Greer and Anthony Hargrove are at home polishing the rings they won last year.
  23. A lot of those teams that won road games had better records than the home team they played, such as this year. This season every road team basically had a better record than the team they played (the only exception was Green Bay and Philly had the same record but since Green Bay beat them during the regular season they technically had the better record). Seems like since the re-alignment there have been a lot of seasons with really strong and really weak divisions in the same conference.
  24. Thank you, one amazing run after an otherwise very quiet season isn't going to make me miss him
