Joe Marino breaks down the schedule completely
BADOLBILZ replied to Chandler#81's topic in The Stadium Wall
They are moving from X's and O's because podcasters can't keep subscribers or generate any revenue by being honest with the team's fans. The name of the game is to stroke the subscribers until the revenue comes out. If you want to be in that line of "work" and be honest or ever have a pessimistic view you need to have an audience that includes all team's fans...........not just the homer's of 1 team. -
Marquez Valdes-Scantling meeting with the Bills (UPDATE: Signed)
BADOLBILZ replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
They "started the offseason" with a WR1 who had just produced 1183 yards on 107 catches and 8 TD's. Samuel, MVS and Claypool didn't even come close to producing those numbers combined. The strategy the Bills have taken is to hope for unlikely results. They did it to a lesser extent with Harty and Sherfield last offseason. And predictably failed. You are welcome to be satisfied with a stick in the eye or a kick in the nuts.......whatever floats you.........but don't try to tell us that p!ss is rain.........just admit you enjoy it because it's sterile and you like the taste. -

Stefon Diggs was a quasi-legit starter? Man the homer's have no shame. -

Oh did I misunderstand you? You were OK with starting those seasons 6-6 before turning Allen into a battering ram? If so, I apologize for overestimating your intelligence. I thought perhaps you saw some value in maybe having a bye week for once to rest that unlucky Mcdefense that only loses because they are so tuckered out for some reason. -

As I said earlier.........Pat Mahomes had an unfathomable 73 passer rating when targeting MVS last season. MVS is a guy who had averaged over 1.5 yards per route run during his career...................last year he had .72 yprr. He fell off a f#cking cliff and hit every branch on the way down last season. Career worsts in almost everything. All indications...........including the lack of interest around the league.........are that MVS was washed LAST season.........getting a year older isn't likely to reverse that. -

Yeah "let's not discuss anything until after the games are played" makes for really engaging offseason discussions. The people who just want to be told everything is going to be alright always revert to this "I am of the mind to see see how things work out".............as if everyone on this board isn't planning to watch how things work out. -

Yeah if they just start out pounding the rock with Josh Allen from the get-go and get him those 150-160 carries and 20-22 rushing TD's they should actually be able to be a #1 seed for once. You're right........why are they wasting money on receivers? They can just do this with Allen for the next 10 years. No problem. Totally sustainable. -

You didn't think discussion of signing a washed-up MVS was going to generate 40 pages of responses, did you? Each vet scrub they sign is just making it more likely that they are going to camp with a dog's breakfast of a WR corps..........hence the expansion of the discussion. But if you have more to add about MVS than was already said, by all means. Yeah that would be akin to when they brought in Sanders to split WR2 role with Gabe Davis. Davis hands were always too bad to play any meaningful snaps from the slot but Sanders could go inside-outside like Samuel. -

And Josh Allen had to run the ball over 9x per game during that stretch to get that done. Not sustainable. -

BADOLBILZ replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
Yeah MVS is washed up but him being a complementary piece isn't the issue. The issue is not having a WR1 or even an established, proven WR2. How it pertains to MVS is that the strategy appears to be "hoping" that 4 veteran receivers who are all coming off seasons where their season's production declined will combine with a low usage vet and second round pick to "in-aggregate" be a sustitute for Diggs and Davis and then some. As has been said before...........hope is not a strategy. So trying to score a TD with 1:55 or so left on the clock was trying to win it with no time left? Wtf are you talking about? -

The post I was replying to said Bass just blew the staff's strategy missing the kick. I appreciate that you just try to follow me around what I say......it's flattering........but try to follow the conversation. -
Is it time to grow concerned about Greg Rousseau?
BADOLBILZ replied to FireChans's topic in The Stadium Wall
Just look at the 1997 stats.......the Bills only had 4 DL who were even active for all 16 games and the 4th was DE Marcellus Wiley. Ted Washington wasn't making 80 tackles from the NT spot with 50% of the snaps. If you want to believe that, that's your prerogative. But you are just mis-remembering. -

........then the Chiefs quickly march down the field and kick a chip shot field goal to win it. Again, rest assured that the HC knew the play call coming out of the 2 minute warning. He was willing to lean on a defense that had played terribly all day if the play succeeded..........that's bad coaching. -

The Bills lack an All Pro pass rusher. Sure. But so did the 2018 Patriots, 2019 Chiefs and 2020 Bucs........3 years in a row. And they beat teams that did have them. Chris Jones has just 2.5 sacks in 19 career playoff games! Pardon me that my patience wears thin on these ridiculous McDermott D excuse narratives but has it occurred to you that maybe you are fixated on something just because the Bills don't have that and not because it's what's holding them back? Not being able to get to these elite QB's has never been the reason that the Bills can't even put up a fight against Burrow or Mahomes. They are just flat-out getting out-coached. -

Your response doesn't have anything to do with my point you are responding to. I'm sure you had no idea that Chris Jones had done so little in those games, did you? Most Bills fans think he's been a force of nature because the grass is greener on that other side. What I know is that the sky is the f#cking limit offensively with Josh Allen at QB if you give him weapons..........not this bullsh!t half-stepping job of stocking the cupboard that they are trying now. I want to see what it looks like when he's actually surrounded with studs on that side of the ball and doesn't have to run the ball 9x per game to win and subsequently be compromised by elbow and shoulder injuries all season. I'd rather be the memorable Air Coryell Chargers than the totally forgettable Marty/Norv Chargers(which is what the Allen Bills have been to this point). Because I ALREADY know that having 8 good rotational DL and an excellent back 7 with a HC whose expertise is on that side of the ball has been tried repeatedly and has failed many times already. -

False. I am not a McDermott hater. It's just clear that he's been and still is learning how to win in the playoffs via on the job training. The Bills hired a first time HC who was more of a culture guy than a quick-thinking, clever mind and guys like that........Schotty, Cowher or even Reid........tend to have to take a WHOLE LOTTA' lumps in the playoffs before they win a SB. But I believe McD's been trying hard to get better and I am not eager to start over from scratch(that's Josh Allen's decision anyway). As much as you guys push back against the notion that his defensive scheme hasn't proven challenging enough to opponents.........I think he clearly has decided to make changes on that side of the ball to try to diversify their defense. It's obviously a huge issue. They've become fish in a barrel defensively against Burrow and Mahomes. -

I agree that Chris Jones is a stud and the Bills don't have a comparable individual player on the DL. But Bills fans think Chris Jones is way more impactful against the Bills than he actually is. In the 3 wins over Buffalo in the playoffs Chris Jones has a paltry 3 total tackles, 1 TFL and ZERO sacks. Ed Oliver......who all Bills fans will agree hasn't played well against Mahomes in the playoffs..... has 4 tackles, 2 TFL and 1 sack in those same 3 games. The perception is that Jones has made huge impacts. That's not the truth though. -

Have the 3 Chiefs SB winning teams all had elite DL units or secondaries? I don't think that's the case. I go back to being able to adapt your defensive scheme to your opponent. That's Spag's calling card. -

The defensive struggles didn't start after they got Von Miller. They'd been slapped around in the playoffs defensively by the Texans, Colts and the Chiefs twice by that time. -

I think coaching is the reason.........more specifically an inability to adjust to opponents. You gotta' put players in position to succeed. -

BADOLBILZ replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
True, but opposing fans say the same thing about losing to Allen. It's hard to make plays against a great QB. When you are in position against them.......they often get away. Sometimes you just have to contain them.......as the old saying goes. For all the talk about how the Bills don't get to Mahomes..........the Chiefs don't get to Allen either. And yet, they were still able to force Allen to play small ball for 37 minutes in the most recent loss while Mahomes was getting like 9 yards per play or some crazy sh!t like that. There is no excuse for getting rag-dolled like that by an opponent you have seen and prepared for so many times. They are practically division rivals at this point. -

The consistent defensive struggles in the playoffs haven't been due to injuries each year. Nor has it always been 3, 4, 5 key players that they were missing. The common theme is the HC. His defense's just haven't confused or slowed down opponents in the playoffs. 7 of their 10 Allen-era playoff games were marked by very poor defense. -

Henry has never made it more than 2 years at any of his other NFL WR jobs. This is his 5th one of those. His head is very rollable. Goats get scaped when the HC and GM get made to look bad.
