  1. You do realize that almost every team that plays on a Thursday is playing their 3rd game in 12 days.........Sunday to Sunday to Thursday = 12. I don't know if the person who ginned that up was just trolling Bills fans but it's funny how many people ran with it.
  2. He helped set the tone in the run game early tonight. He's a great tackler. Tied for the NFL lead in run stops by a DL last season........as a rookie.......in a rotational system.
  3. Yeah but he could have had the U of Miami OC job last winter for similar money. And he's from South Florida. The reported reason he wasn't interested is that he hates recruiting. So I'd expect any college OC job he takes to stipulate that he have to do very little recruiting.
  4. Milano replaced the injured starter Humber during the Atlanta game........played a majority of snaps until Humber came back.........went back to a reserve role until the Indy game.........graduated to playing majority of snaps before going on IR and missing the playoff game.
  5. This certainly wasn't your perspective last spring. Same with @eball. Lotta' guffawing when it was sensibly pointed out that the Bills were thin at WR and expecting too much from unproven, injury prone and low pedigree talents.
  6. Bruce? Yeah probably.
  7. Sleep apnea he said. Fairly common problem for drunk drivers. I had an uncle do the same thing. He lived two blocks behind the bar and couldn't stay awake thru the 2 stop signs. Cops pulled his car aside and took him home and dumped him on his couch. Next morning he called me in a panic because he thought somebody stole his car.
  8. Well they were the SB favorite for a reason. Arguably the best QB and deepest roster in the league. The people who complain that expecting more than 8-3 (.727 win %) thru 11 was unfair........they are apparently unaware that you need to expect more to get home field. Last year was literally the first time since 2002 that an AFC team earned the #1 seed with a sub .750 win %. And it's not the expanded schedule. The NFC #1 and #2 both had 13 wins last year and the #1 will probably have 14-15 this time around.
  9. Bills fans complaining about an opponent having an easy schedule is quite laughable given the quality of opponents the Bills have had to face going back to 2017. They rode some pretty favorable schedules to success. This year the Bills have FINALLY faced some adverse scheduling. The media hasn't quite gotten around to talking about it just yet, but not only have the Bills played a lot of good teams......an ACTUAL first place schedule for once.......but barring anymore snowpocalypses they will finish the regular season playing on the road 10 times and at home only 7. I think the difficult schedule has taken a bit of a toll on the players psyche...........the career Bills on the team really aren't used to having to play 60 minutes of focused football every week.
  10. The Bengals actually snuck into the 3rd seed with a win over KC at home last year and then manipulated the Bills into that unfortunate pairing with KC by tanking their finale. And here they come again. I am not really inclined to root for things to align for them again. Whatever happens in that game this Sunday.......hopefully it ends up a favorable result for the Bills at the end of the season. I want the Bills to get the #1 seed but I'd also rather have home games in the first 2 rounds and only THEN have to travel for the AFCCG than be on the road in the divisional........which is entirely possible if Cinci gets hot and beats the Bills at home to finish ahead of the Bills in the seeding.
  11. Yeah if it comes down to 2023 and beyond money I'd be shocked if the Bills ponied up even close to the guarantees that Dallas or even the cap strapped Giants could. What we don't know is whether anyone is ACTUALLY willing to give him any kind of multi-year commitment without seeing him play. That's just what has been floated out there by his people. This isn't the NBA......when teams think you are an injury risk in the NFL.........the money typically is not there. Which is the only reason I still think the Bills are in play.
  12. I think the larger point here is that you can absolutely have a bunch who behave badly off the field.........even big stars.......mixed with a bunch that are choir boys and still have a winning locker room. Case in point........I doubt Josh Allen's GF would be cool with JA living like Diggs juggling multiple GF's(putting them up in different rooms in the same hotel LOL) and having kids with baby mama's. Yet JA and Diggs are tight. Different strokes. It was like that with Reich and Kelly. Reich wasn't ever going to go to one of JK's parties or grab dinner and drinks.......but they were tight in the locker room and good with having breakfast/lunch together.
  13. Exactly. It's insane that someone who claims to remember those teams can't remember what a cluster*ck their stars often were off the field........and sometimes on it.......like the Bickering Bills of 1989. Then they signed Reggie Rogers after he got out of prison for killing someone driving drunk? Was DrPJax being serious implying that the Bills weren't loaded with diva's and troublemakers? Later Butler pursued psycho's Lawrence Phillips and Wayne Simmons. ANY notion that the 90's Bills were a class act in a league full of teams that accepted bad behavior is wrong.
  14. Kelly was sued for physically assaulting a couple women when he was drunk in 1987.........he left a pile of unpaid bills when his restaurant closed despite having the means to resolve them.........and there were less substantiated stories that were uglier. JK was never considered a great guy until long after his playing career. Bruce Smith had driving under the influence issues and the Bills at one time had a PI investigating his connection to local drug dealers and he was subsequently suspended for failing multiple drug tests. Cornelius Bennett? He literally served time for sexual assault. (how could you not have heard that, at least?) Not sure where you got the idea that these guys didn't have reputations for significantly worse misbehavior than getting kicked off a plane after taking some xanax.
  15. Boston Celtics and New England pro sports fans @Nextmanup and @YoloinOhio disagree. Buffalo sports fans should never root for any New England pro teams.
  16. I disagree that 40 seconds is a universal number. Perhaps for other pass heavy teams. But not for a Bills offense that relies heavily on Allen in the run game. And the opponent matters here as well. The Lions are a nickel and dime offense. I'll take my chances with them with 20 seconds left in exchange for having the rush option still in play inside the 30 when Josh Allen has the ball. I thought they played it smarter in the Browns game.
  17. I guess you are responding to the wrong post because I never said anything in this thread even close to "the Bills don't have a shot at the #1" seed. But it's a fact that they no longer control their own destiny for that critical #1 seed and the bye. They've blown that lead..........and I wouldn't frame their schedule as favorable compared to that of the #1 seed Chiefs. Right now there are 8 teams in the AFC with winning records.........the Bills have 5 of their remaining 6 games against them. The Chiefs have 7 games left and 5 are against teams with losing records. And all 8 of those teams think if we take care of our own business we will finish ahead of the Bills in the seeding. That's not where the Bills were projected to be. They've been upset 3 times. Last season, same issue. Upset 5 times on the way to a 7-6 record thru 13 games. And I'll add that you can be enjoying the season and you can be expecting a much better ending than finishing 5th in your conference......... but you can also be of the belief that they have failed to play up to their potential yet again........and that jeopardizes the goals of a team that's gone 0-4 on the road in the playoffs under this coaching staff.
  18. One of my buddies answers to Baler Hayfield so bale jokes are on speed search.
  19. That was exactly the story as you over-shared it here on TSW thru 2020 (when you were lamenting your inability to get playoff tickets for the Baltimore game). Since I bring it up periodically when you go on one of your fan-shaming LAMP-rants now you want to re-frame it? Of course you do.
  20. BWAAAH......hahahahahahaHAhahahahahaha......
  21. Nice LAMP post @eball! Some of the complaints are certainly over the top but they will most likely be the 5th seed in the AFC after 14 weeks when the Dolphins beat the Texans tomorrow. Because they came out flat after the bye......consistent with their annual mid-season slumps that have dashed their home field advantage hopes in each of their prior 3 seasons. Same thing happened in 2017. Coaching is the common denominator. And they did it by blowing big leads twice in the second half to fall out of the #1 seed and first place in the east. That is going to upset fans given SB favorite expectations and the importance the team itself has placed on earning the #1 seed. You know that. It's also a good time to remind you that you quit your (26 year?) season tickets in disgust at the organization when they fired Rex and hired Sean McDermott.
  22. Agree. And it shouldn't be that way with the defense, the reserve safeties and LB's should know their assignments inside and out because they have been here for 2-3 seasons now. The promise of the McDefense was that you could do more with less talent in the secondary because it was more about being assignment sound than matching up individually. But additionally they have been running this D for 6 years now and teams know their tendencies when they put together a game plan.........so the Bills are trying to change things up while also dealing with injuries and limited practice time. On offense it's frustrating but there is also the school of thought that doing less things well is better than trying to fool opponents and doing it to a fault. Daboll was the latter much of last season. "Gotcha'" plays make you look brilliant when they work and stupid when they don't and you keep doing it anyway. I totally buy that Daboll wanted out, just like he wanted out of Alabama. That Wyche/Mularkey style of play calling grates on people like Saban, McDermott and Cowher. The Bills problem now is that simple doesn't work when you don't match up......and after 2 offseasons of neglecting to improve the offensive side of the ball they just don't have the horses to just line up and beat the men across from them the way they did in 2020 and to a lesser extent in 2021. I think they clearly over estimated their personnel coming into the season. Right now, "simple" is actually harder on Josh Allen because he's having to break down defenses with his feet........whether it be holding the ball to get covered receivers free or tucking and running with it.
  23. I didn't miss your point. We have a lot of fans who will always think that other teams aren't as impacted by injuries. Even when the Bills are incredibly healthy like last season. The new one now is "yeah but the Bills injuries are to GOOD players". The Lions had both of their starting guards out.......their #1 CB got ruled out late in the week.......and they also had to elevate a DE from the practice squad and they were a 4-6 team with a 31st ranked defense to start with. But "woe are we" who had to deal with injuries to what is generally regarded as one of, if not the best, rosters in the league. Injuries didn't level the playing field by any means. The better team won. It still would have been an upset if that team with those players and that winning culture would have lost to THAT team.
