  1. I was a huge Mario fan and I remember thinking that there were going to be two types of teams coming out of that 2006 draft..........the one that got Mario and the losers. He was the singular great pro prospect from that draft. But Mario was a freak, explosive athlete. You could see Mario winning his reps, manhandling OL on his way to making plays. It was impressive to watch. There wasn't a lot of nuance or instinctiveness though and he wasn't a heady player........so his ceiling ended at his physical traits. Physically he is a top 10 all-time DE talent but he's not even going to be a HOF'er. Rousseau really isn't an explosive athlete. He has some great natural advantages with his unusual build/length....and has room to grow......but his ceiling to make an impact is not limited to his physical traits in the same way.
  2. His 11 1/8" hands would be among the largest in the NBA for sure......basically the same hand size as Kawahi Leonard who is the player most associate with having the craziest disproportionately large hands in the NBA.............but Giannis has 12" hands so that stat was false. Rousseau makes a lot of plays that just seem routine to the casual fan but there is nothing routine about reaching out one-handed and snaring a 210# RB on the edge. As I said when they drafted him........he's not going to wow fans with his bend or burst like a Bruce Smith or Von Miller.........but he is going to make A TON of plays anyway. The huge first stride that gets OT's off balance followed by his seemingly innate ability to track and level off with QB's in the pocket THEN combined with his reach and giant hands are literally a unique combination. There aren't any good comps.
  3. I'm not going to downplay it...........the Bills really need a route versatile WR2..........but you don't always get a chance to change the dynamic of your offense in season. You gotta' take care of business when the market is flush with options.........the offseason.........and Beane dropped that ball. As a Yankees fan I can attest that even teams that win all the time need to be reminded to do this. Yankees have become a team that waits until the trade deadline to make deals and it's cost them. I think Beane thought he could try to get by with a couple low cost fliers at slot receiver and elevate Davis to WR2 by himself and if that didn't work he could find help at the deadline. No dice this year. Beasley will help them be better at what they've become.........a station to station offense that relies on Allen running 6-10 times per game to be effective.
  4. Like I said.........if you were kind to every poster in your initial discourse with them........you wouldn't have to cry and divert topics from football to personal. Which I have no idea why you would want to do...........not that having your own apartment isn't a great life accomplishment but I'd dare say that being a football fan is probably one of your stronger suits. Own it...........you defended Star and thought that was a good signing too!
  5. Is it a tight spot? He doesn't have to play this season. I've wondered from the outset why he would even want to come back this season at all. I'm sure if he had a great workout for teams in early March he'd be in great position to get a big contract in what promises to be a fairly weak WR market.
  6. I'll let you in on a little secret that ownership here knows.............if I am unkind or sarcastic to you it's because you "initiated" our internet discourse with a personal attack about a football take that you disagreed with. So if you are here.........don't tell me about being kind. And once you do that.........you are fair game to be held pointedly accountable for your bad takes. You can acknowledge it and be a good sport about the discourse you initiated..............or you can cry about it and try to make your perceived unfair treatment wrt to your takes the focus of the topic instead of football(like above). I've literally never initiated negative discourse with anyone on this forum...........even if I vehemently disagree with a take I keep it about football until they do not............to me, that is the cardinal sin of the forum. The piling on and shouting down some of you do discourages new people from posting and it's an attempt by like minded people to dominate the forum.
  7. Star was far from a fine player in 2018 and 2019. To quote @GunnerBill on those years........Star was "trash". By far his best season as a Bill was 2021..........suggesting otherwise is trying to create a narrative that he declined with age or due to covid or something.......which is entirely false. And the Bills looked at his 2021 and determined that the 2022 version wouldn't even be worth about $1M in actual cap space and chose to instead take nearly an $8M dead cap hit. That is about as big of an indictment of his performance as you could possibly get. To suggest he was anything but a bust of a signing is absurd. $40M in real money spent for 3 seasons of a player they would have loved to been able to cut and replace after the first season........but could not.
  8. Absolutely, you as well. Good to see you are learning about football........run defense is all about effort and technique..........players say it all the time and it goes in one ear and out the other as fans try to build a super team of run defenders on paper. Technique is import for internetting too...........you blindly defended Star Lotulelei for years and now you are trying to get in front of a Daquan Jones for best signing ever train. It's sh*tting on the Star signing without having to admit you were wrong. That's just good internet, right there. Well played.
  9. "Von is healed!"
  10. That's box score scouting. The 2022 Bills haven't been such a middling pass defense because they defend the run very well. They are middling because they are giving up big plays on obvious passing downs..................and often having their once dynamic zone defense exploited even if opposing QB's are getting pounded by the front. You had the opposite take when you were hard apologizing for Star Lotulelei............."the Bills are 19th against the run because they are so good against the pass". The reality is that the Bills have been a base nickel defense all along. As I told you then.........it's about execution. The Bills run D was only middling because their front 7 wasn't executing. The Polynesian Pylon was a big part of that underachievement. They are middling against the pass now because they aren't executing. They should still be a top 10 pass defense. They are blowing assignments, not making adjustments that should be intuitive at this point, not getting their head around etc.. It's very unlike what they have been in the past. If they were fully healthy and the coaching staff were willing(and able) to make some adjustments to a scheme that has become familiar enough that teams like the Jets can just throw up prayers to a spot and often find uncovered targets............this would be the #1 defense in the NFL by a fair amount, IMO. They are deeper and overall more talented than the rest. Even SF(which has suspect secondary talent).
  11. The pic won't open on my apple product for some reason. My tiny wife didn't finish her burger and they gave her a gentle paddling..........so I left a bite to get my love taps.........and this big angry southpaw comes out and gave me about 8 full-on, left-her-feet, blasts. Yeah, the crowd was oohing. Was burning for hours afterward.
  12. He's admitted many times that he is just playing a role wrt the Bills. When he was at TBN Carucci was the kissass, Felser was the "neutral" guy who would mix it up and Jerry asked the pointed questions. When he writes about other things his approach is different. But that's niche stuff.......like women's sports.......that never pays the bills and only a few nerds and pervs will miss. Some overly serious people on here think that I must have domestic issues or something else and that makes me often critical of the team......and don't take any sh*t for it. Simply isn't so..........the Bills are entertainment and I'm not superstitious.
  13. You have no idea but you brought it up like you know all about it. Very small of you. She's a burlesque dancer at a big casino. Big deal.
  14. Don't use a harsh disinfectant or astringent. Try using hydrocortisone on it. Heard some Sundowner girls talking about using it to prevent razor rash. Seemed to be working well. Or you might have developed a form of rosacea. Happens to some with age and it can cause what seem like razor bumps that just linger under the skin. Try shaving with gentle facial cleanser and get a rosacea gel or one of those "calming" creams like aveeno makes.
  15. Does she work at The Heart Attack Grill? The beatings those women give you if you don't finish the burger are no joke.
  16. Do you think McKenzie believes that McBeane are satisfied with his performance?
  17. I think it's pretty simple, really. The WNY sports media has been literally pointless/useless for many years........first totally neutered by the power wielded by sole ownership of both pro sports teams and then systematically weakened by the very limited earnings potential of the print/internet/radio media. I'm surprised Niagara Gazette can still pay people so that they can even technically "fire" them. Social media is our local sports media now.
  18. Yeah but by unplayable I mean he isn't a receiving option even when healthy. Doesn't get open, double catches passes........just lacks the necessary skills to be an effective NFL WR. Blocker and special teamer only.
  19. I agree in the sense that you have to make him make big time throws. That's been a challenge for most teams because the Eagles have a very good OL and he has all day to sit in the pocket and great receivers.
  20. Let's not get carried away.........he "could" help by catching short passes to keep them "on schedule", convert 3rd or 4th downs and maybe a quick TD pass or 2 at the goal line. He can catch well thrown ones and he can catch less accurate ones. It's not likely to be more than that. But that one thing is something they really need.
  21. Yeah as we've seen........particularly when playing 3 games against division rivals since the bye........the Bills deficiencies in the receiving corps are well identified. Nothing is coming easy in the air......except maybe situations where they play hurry up and try to trap opponents into favorable personnel matchups like they have been able to do at the end of the half recently. But if you gotta' play hurry up to not suck that's not championship offense. They are a station to station offense right now........the big play in any TD drive now is often a back breaking Josh Allen run. But they lack a reliable 3rd down guy from the slot...........and washed as he may be.......Beasley might still be able to be that guy to keep the chains moving. Even if you just look at the handful of small plays he made in Tampa this year.........those are things the Bills can't get(sadly) from Lil' Dummy or Shakir.
  22. The Commies beat the tar out of them a few weeks ago. Manhandled. Jalen Hurts isn't in the same league as Josh Allen, IMO..........it just looks that way because they have been healthy offensively. By no means saying it's an Eagles thing...........but on the Eagles alone there are recent examples of QB's who had crazy good regular seasons that they couldn't ever come close to repeating. Remember that Nick Foles had a 27 TD 2 INT season in 2013? Or Carson Wentz playing like a league MVP? When your QB isn't great your offense is a bit of a house of cards. Give me JA17 over Hurts every time.
  23. That is totally incorrect. He averaged over 10 yards per catch his last season in Dallas(2018). He did have an awful year in 2017 where he averaged about the same ypc as last year on a woeful 50% catch percentage. If he'd had that year going into free agency he'd have had to accept a 1 year prove it deal somewhere. It's not uncommon for veteran players to still get lots of opportunities(out of necessity) in a season where they are cratering athletically.........and then end up not even getting job offers the next season despite some counting statistics that look solid. Teams don't just watch tape and box score scout to make those decisions anymore. At the same time sometimes a washed up player can still serve an important role. Frank Gore did just that in Buffalo in 2019 even though he no longer had the speed and quickness to be a frontline performer. His ability to carry a heavy load early in the season when his backup was a rookie and his "give you 3 yards when you need 2 and give you 3 yards when you need 4" kept the Bills on schedule offensively and helped shorten games for a defense first team. In a sense........this Bills offense is also limited......and Beasley........washed as he likely is........may be able to provide the Bills with a guy who can catch the ball consistently and keep the offense on schedule.
  24. Yep we are always in the same spot on Glen St. next door to Hammer's house. We have a Sunseeker RV parked in the yard next to the garage all fall so can't miss it. TSW folks always welcome. This week we even have a TSW Mod attending. 😲
  25. It sure wasn't funny watching him get more than 3 less yards per catch last season. He clearly lost a step. A sub 9 yard per catch average for a receiver is terrible. Duke Johnson is a career 9 yards per catch guy and he's a runnin' back. Unfortunately, Beane "dropped the ball" at the WR position and replaced two consistently reliable but punchless, YAC free possession receivers with the injured and unreliable Jamison Crowder and an unplayable Jake Kumerow.
