Actually it was Chan who said he wanted a water bug for his offence. Daniel Jeremiah was the only analyst who predicted Spiller at #9. Given our backfield at the time everybody thought he was crazy. In fact he understood that our front office was crazy.

If your a Finns fan Mac Jones is the guy Tua should have been but isn’t. Or maybe that was Justin Herbert. Or maybe anybody else. Key to shutting him down is to stop the running game, especially on early downs. He is very accurate, throws with touch and anticipation and looks to have a good head on his shoulders, but he is not carrying a team with his arm.

Mac Jones cannot carry them with his arm imo especially not vs our secondary.

They are a well coached team on both sides of the ball. As usual. D is very good. Judon is on a tear. Mac Jones is starting to remind me of another system QB who did alright there. He’s very accurate and has very good touch on his throws. Hardly a gun but he can get it done. To me a lot will depend on how effectively we can contain their run game especially on early downs.

Sounds a lot like Shaquille Griffin last week. Boys will be boys.

But could he be the hot read if Josh never even looked his way? Would have been a good call if he had been. I suspect miscommunication.Josh also held on to the ball too long again.

I like GC a lot and find his takes always informative. Something I would add to his comments about Brieda though is that imo his SF tape from a couple of years back shows that he is not necessarily limited to zone stretch playcalls and that he can run inside. When there is a hole he can hit it quickly wherever it happens to be. I don’t disagree with the fans calling for more sweeps, misdirection etc…in the run game but just as running the ball can set up the pass, being able to run inside is complementary to attacking the edge. The Jags did an excellent job of sealing the edge last week.

Whatever the reason Dion is half the man he was. If it’s COVID I sure hope he can regain his strength, at least by next year. Right now I see a scrub where before there was a franchise left tackle or at least a very reliable starter for the next 10 years.

Klien’s the backup I guess and good when the play is in front of him but I’d like to see Andre on passing downs.
