  1. Exotic blitzes were an indispensable part of Sean’s mentor Johnson’s defence. Sean not so much.
  2. He also needs vision, which neither of our backs have.
  3. Josh didn’t step into it (back foot throw) and he owns a cannon.
  4. You likely need to spend more than a third to get a franchise back. More like a second to stack the odds in your favour. But you can find good backs just about anywhere. Its clear the Bills don’t know how to evaluate them relative to the team’s requirements. Smart teams likely knew Moss and Singletary did not transition well to the pro game (certainly as a pair of third round picks) even though they were good in college. I’ve puzzled over whether the fault lies with scouting or the GM but in reality the buck properly stops with Beane.
  5. The fanboys keep saying his detractors don’t understand McD’s scheme (or even football for that matter). But McD had some great and impactful LBs in Carolina. Night and day difference. Overall Tremaine is a mediocre player given his positional responsibilities in this scheme.
  6. He needs revision surgery…on both hands.
  7. Agree. I consider him an elite athlete in his position. I also think he’s quite possibly the best route runner in the game.
  8. I agree that Brieda makes Singletary better. If he was in the same backfield as Jonathan Taylor he would be better still and quite possibly very good. That may seem self evident but it’s not necessarily the case that one back can raise another’s production and effectiveness significantly. Moss is not a good complement to Devin and vice versa actually. But the thing that can hold him back are his hands and especially ball security. That can derail his career in a hurry unless correctable and corrected.
  9. Taylor was a second. Our backs were thirds. Do 2/3rds = a 2nd?
  10. Micah Parsons wow
  11. Do you think it would have made a difference in this case.
  12. Yeah football is a game for bad people (on the field anyway). And I don’t think it’s necessarily a scheme thing either. Some of those Carolina Ds were pretty badass.
  13. In fairness saying anything else would have been counterproductive.
  14. The good news is that after Jax and now Indy we know what the bad news is. Whether the coaches and players can now suck it up and make the necessary adjustments (especially with guys coming back) is probably a 50/50 proposition at this point. If they can’t do that some major changes at both levels should be made.
  15. Sure. They are coaching other teams.
  16. They are a bit like us, meaning unidimensional on offence. Taylor is great and they block well for him but Wentz sucks so they aren’t getting to where they want to go. Doesn’t make us good.
  17. And I thought the Jags game was bad.
  18. I’ve got pic in pic. Watching woman’s volleyball from Formosa. Good stuff.
  19. Just shoot me in the face already.
  20. Knox has turned into a fine TE.
  21. Actually it was Chan who said he wanted a water bug for his offence. Daniel Jeremiah was the only analyst who predicted Spiller at #9. Given our backfield at the time everybody thought he was crazy. In fact he understood that our front office was crazy.
