  1. I too was at the game and funny thing is we were probably just a few feet apart. I was in the box right next to the broadcast booth. On the inside the partition was glass so I could see Simms and Nance by just turning to my right. MetLife is not much to look at from the outside. My Giants fan friend told me it cost 1.5Bn to build, more than Dallas which is state of the art. Says its because of the mob still controlling construction in NYC. On the inside though, as you will have noticed, the sightlines are terrific. Not a bad seat in the house. I tailgated a couple of hours before the game. Section K. I agree Giants fans are cool. They are full of their team for sure, but thats just criticizing them for being fans.
  2. Darelle Reevis is the best cover corner in the NFL and its not even close. I wish he was a Bill.
  3. Dont understand not going after Lloyd. Character issues phobia? Me first kind of guy/ Or maybe just a dumb FO non move.
  4. O-Line is definitely better than expected. Fred has had some gaping holes, especially on the left side of the line. Left guard is playing at a high level, left tackle is more than holding his own. Line remains a work in progress but it should at least be clear that barring injury i.e. not much depth, it is nowhere near the liability many of us feared. How good can it be? Don't know, but I have seen enuf to say that it can be good.
  5. That stupid song was the only thing I didn't like about MNF. Good riddance & get thee back to the trailerpark while you're at it.
  6. True. It was more of an ad hoc type of thing. Screw as you go.
  7. Fitz has been "off" in every game this year. He has also been "on" in three of them. Thats the point. He is extremely inconsistent, sort of hot and cold in the same game, and he appears besides to be very slow off the mark. There have been a few drops, but receivers (like D. Jones BTW) have also been victimized by terrible throws, some of them not of a high degree of difficulty as types go. To say that JP and Trent were aweful hardly addresses the point.
  8. Didn't say he was the worst QB in the league either. Hes pretty good. Main problem - in terms of accuracy he is the model of inconsistency. The Bills FO know it. They would have rolled the dice on Cam had he been there at #3 (and would have won) and they would likely have taken Gabbert had Dareus not been there. IMO Fitz will not be getting the long term dream "franchise QB" contract this year some think he deserves. He may still sign with the Bills, because he would still have a good pay raise and a starting job and because he won't be getting that contract anywhere else.
  9. He is definitely not a franchise QB. The suggestion is absurd. He did not play three very good games. He played three very good half games. He has started slow in all four games (and never got it in gear yesterday). D was not good, but they were on the field way more than they should have been because Fitz could not sustain possessions. He is a great guy, and a very good backup QB.
  10. Not worried about Clinton Portis. I AM worried about what AJ Green might do after seeing that little Oak Raider shred our secondary all day.
  11. Best case is a solid, convincing win for the Bills where they prove that they are in fact better than the opposition because it will show they can stay focussed and win a trap game, which is part of what a winning team typically does. Chan seems intent on instilling this and it will be interesting to see if the lesson has been learned. If it has then things bode well for the future. Anyway, that is what I look for in this matchup. I think a close score is possible but (hopefully) with the Bills clearly emerging as the better of the two teams: Bills 27 Bengals 17.
  12. Lots of big running plays over the left side of the line and Bell isn't known as a run blocker...hmmm...something tells me that guy playing left guard is performing at a pro bowl level.
  13. He doesn't drink because he knows he would make a total fool of himself, which he does when he's stone sober anywhere except on a football field. His panzy dancing hardly registers on the suck-o-meter compared with his run down the waterslide.
  14. Such a weird situation with a guy who just cant gey money's worth. He has absolutely no leverage from a bargaining point of view but is in the top tier of offensive weapons in the entire NFL. Fred is an unusual physical specimen. It is quite possible that he can maintain this production until age 34-35 but he negotiates his next contract he will be 32. Again a weak bargaining position. Thats why Fred needs a deal now. They should extend him for 2 more years and pay him 3 mill a year, 6 mill guaranteed.
  15. He was supposed to be nothing less than Patrick Willis. Seriously.
  16. Its a long season and before its over Brady and the Pats will feel the loss of Koppen. He's a fixture in a magnificent O Line that is basic to their system. I derive no pleasure in seeing a player like Dan Koppen go down with injury, especially because one of my favourite things in football is good O-line play. That said, his loss can only improve the chances of the Pats AFC rivals, which now includes the Bills.
  17. No disrespect for the Raiders but they are banged up (including R. Seymour has sore ribs), they are travelling almost three thousand miles on a short week. If we don't take them down there is something wrong. Bills 27 - Raiders 13 BONUS PREDICTION FOR BILLS FANS - BOLTS WILL TAKE DOWN THE PATS TODAY 37 - 28.
  18. I agree. The problem is that the higher numbers would be closer to the negotiated comp. And it would likely be 4 or maybe even 5 years. People saying to sign Fitz now probably haven't cosidered the extent to which the organization is committed. Especially Buffalo which might not then make a big investment in a high draft pick for grooming into a franchise player. So for now its probably not even clear that signing Fitz to this kind of deal is something that you should be doing at all. I too would wait until the year is over.
  19. Everybody likes Fitz but one game is too early to crown his a$$.
  20. TB, in his first game back from year long injury, through 2 perfect 4th quarter TD passes to his TE. We blew it (McKelvin) but he (Brady) still needed to win it.
  21. Let 'em laugh. The Bills are a wild card candidate but even if they fall short this year, if they stay reasonably healthy some teams looking for a wild card berth or home field advantage later in the year will not be laughing when they play Buffalo.
  22. You are exactly right and thats why it seems so unfair and ungenerous on Bruschi's part. But tweets are the road that 85 has travelled in the past when he was an entertainer. Thats enuf to attract attention from a crew that is totally intolerant of even the possibility of deviation from the template. The message is simple - you don't even tweet "nice" things here. You don't tweet at all. You shut the $% up and stick your noise in the playbook. I actualy don't think Bruschi was being mean. He was just being a Pat. Personally I like and admire the way they do things in NE. When the day comes that the Marcellosaurus grinds TBs face in the dirt their insufferable arrogance will only make it more appealing to me. Unlike you, I like 85. Hes a lot like our guy. A joker, a decent guy, and a very good football player (though I think he may have lost a step). I just don't know how things will work out in NE. As for Bruschi, I can understand people outside NE not liking him. But I'd love to have a guy like him in his prime wearing a Bills uni. And Rodney Harrison is a scumbag.
  23. His tackles in run support on Sunday were straightline plays. When (if) he shows that he can take good angles in space at the second level he will have improved the main deficiency in his game. Do that and hes overall a very good safety.
  24. Given the innocent content of the tweet Bruschi's reaction can easily be regarded as a blind sided cheap shot. But Bruschi has a point and probably a purpose. 85's penchant for the spotlight, his clowning around and his interfacing with the football public at large is completely inconsistent with the Patriot way since BB has been running the show there and ruling with an iron hand. In NE you are a professional football player not an entertainer. You focus on your job and nothing else. Above all, you don't provide distractions. Whoever you are, even TB, you are just a cog in a wheel, being the Pat's system, just another team player. This discipline and dedication largely accounts for their success. And Pats players, including retired alumni, are typically pitiless in their treatment of guys wearing a Pats uni who don't quite fit the mold, including where they underperform relative to expectations- remember TB's open and public disdain for Joey Galloway who just couldn't suck it up anymore after a great career. It will be interesting to how 85 reacts to this public humiliation. Will he become more disciplined, or will this type of environment break his spirit? Maybe Bruschi did him a favour. BTW Rodney Harrison is a scumbag.
  25. Agree he is the fall guy.
