I don't think Putin sucks. He's the only head of state that preaches and practices responsible statecraft. As a strategist he is head and shoulders above the likes of Starmer, Macron, Olaf Sholtz, Joe Biden & Co. Its unfortunate that we in the West have been socialized and propagandized into thinking that Russia is our mortal enemy. It needn't be that way and may cost us dearly in the end.

How many times have you watched Josh's run?
starrymessenger replied to Success's topic in The Stadium Wall
Don’t know that he gave up. Josh got a helpful assist from Torrence vs Jones on that play. Otherwise the thing that most stands out is that the Chiefs did nothing wrong . Coverage was outstanding. Allen was just better. -
I'm looking forward to Dec 15. I think it's great that we get to play them in season, win or lose. Gives McD some valuable experience on how best deal with their O. Its important because there is a decent chance that we will be seeing them again early next year. They have great skill position players and Goff is on his game.

The pundits following Sunday's loss to the Steelers are saying that the Ravens foolishly got away from their running game and relied too heavily on the pass. But the Ravens have always had a very good rushing attack. Henry makes it better but the thing is late in the year and certainly in the playoffs Ravens have to play top Ds, like Steelers or KC. Top Ds can usually scheme to shut down the run. So at the end of the day Lamar inevitably has to be able to beat you with his arm. He has never been able to do that when most needed and his performances in the biggest games pretty much look all alike. Ever since Louisville and Patrino Lamar struck me as capable of executing a decent NFL passing game so unlike some I don't see a fundamental change this year. To me he has always had NFL worthy arm strength (not a gun) with good accuracy. And he has decent weapons that he has shown he can use. Despite his stats though he is simply not a top shelf NFL passer who can make the clutch throws when needed under pressure with the required consistency. You have to worry about all good teams, and the Ravens can be very good, but I think we beat them if and when we see them again this year (assuming no further injuries to key players).

Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy
starrymessenger replied to Logic's topic in The Stadium Wall
I noticed a big difference between Cooper's introductory pressure and his post KC interview. For a guy who doesn't really show much emotion I got the impression that he is starting to enjoy being on this team. He says it's the first time he's experienced joy in a long time. I think he'd like it even more if he got a ring. Probably the numbers can't be made to work but it would be great if he could close out his career with the Bills (and mentor his replacement). It's been a long time since I've seen a Bills receiver track a ball in the air the way he did on Sunday. -
You're not exactly Einstein.

You are drafting a team from scratch.

To me Lamar is not in the discussion when it comes to who is the best QB. The reason is because until he changes the narrative he struggles mightily against top Ds like Pitt and KC. Conversely Allen (and Mahomes/Burrow) play well when the lights shine brightest. Also Lamar tends to feed stats wise on NFC teams who are not used to seeing or scheming to defend him. But he's still a great player imo.

Xavier Worthy: So far, not much more than a gadget guy

Looks to me like he may well develop into the guy they wanted when they drafted him. And for sure Andy will know how to use his skill set. I doubt he will ever be the player Hill is though. Tyreek is like 30 lbs heavier and just as fast. Also a great route runner, which Worthy has jet to prove. -
PM has the rings but you have to wonder what Josh's career would have looked like if he had gone to KC and Andy? Bills were a disaster when Allen showed up. To me Mahomes and Allen are in a class by themselves. Maybe Burrow also belongs in that group (despite his wardrobe). If you were in a position to draft any of those guys, who would you pick?

The turf toe narrative makes sense to me just based on the eye test before and after yesterdays game.

Lamar looks to me more like the best football player while not being the best QB.

You're right. So it was the other playcalls. Did you see how they were lined up on first down. -

That first down call was atrocious. Could only be a run. -

This is like a playoff game. Lamar doesn't win those. -

Lined up offside too. -
There is a lot of back and forth on the need or not for a "true # 1" receiver. Probably just me but I would benefit from understanding what exactly people mean by that. Are we just talking numbers so that it means the guy lining up on the weak side of the LOS in 1 receiver sets? Actually in multiple receiver sets you often have guys lined up at either end of the LOS and, numerically and for playcalling purposes, they are both # 1s. Or do we mean the receiver who most earns his quarterback's trust, is the go to guy and probably the one with the most targets, catches and yards (eg Shakir)? If so, presumably the # 1 could line up as an X, Y or Z receiver. But I think people are referencing a specific skill set. I assume they mean an X type boundary receiver who is a burner (or at least considered fast enough to gain separation) and who can credibly threaten to take the top off of a defence (bearing in mind that in today's game a deep threat will also be positioned as a slot or flanker (Jefferson, Davante Adams) and work all parts of the field). So based on that criteria is Worthy a true # 1? And for those wanting a true # 1, does it also mean they would have preferred Worthy, Leggett or Mitchell to Coleman in the last draft (from amongst those players we could actually draft). Besides being fast some would say that the prototypical # 1 need be big and/or strong. So forget Worthy. The definition can be further limited by requiring that the guy also qualify as the O's principal passing weapon and that he be among the team leaders in targets, catches and yardage, and therefore inferentially that he also have a developed route tree (Jamar Chase, Tyreek). To find someone like that (assuming one is available) your best bet is to burn an early first round pick. And then you often have to wait for the player to develop. Failing that you need to crack a very large cheque to a FA. My view for now is that the Bills O can certainly benefit schematically from having a healthy Cooper. But I dont think you need a great player of that type. A good one should be enuf if you can't find or afford an elite player. You can probably do that. I was interested in Mooney for that role in FA last year, though I doubt anyone would call him a # 1 receiver.
