Anyone else concerned that if he has solid senior bowl and his stock rises, that he will go sooner than #8? As in Philly will take him at 4 or another team will trade up? It could be argued that every team that picks prior to Buffalo (except Lions) could be shopping for a QB. I don't know ... don't hold your breath if this kid's stock rises ... some other team will snap him up unless Buffalo trades up.

Viewed article and scanned some plays. Impressive. I watched AFC Playbook on NFL channel and they broke down some NE offensive plays. Very impressive, efficient and hard to defend. No wonder they win year in and year out.

How true ... AND in 2014, the QB prospects look strong according to guys on Sirius XM NFL channel. Not good timing for Bills, seemingly. They'll need to get creative or get lucky.

Per ESPN Chicago: Lovie Smith has been contacted by four teams interested in having him interview for a head coaching position, a source told ESPN. No interviews are being set up at the moment because most teams are talking to assistants who are available and coaches who are involved with the bye week of the playoffs. Those teams are expected to contact Smith later to set up formal interviews, the source said.

Reading Buddy's reaction to Chan's firing it seems obvious he is NOT in charge of football matters. Buddy made it sound like it was someone elses decision. I'm not a fan of Brandon. How did he get to where he is? Does he have incriminating evidense on Mr WIlson? He's a marketing guy full of gimmicks (ala T.O.) and smoke and mirrors. His MO is to dupe the fan base. Dick Jauron? A head coach and/or GM is only as good as their QB. As goes the QB, so goes the HC/GM. Sorry, loved Chan as a person and straight talker, but clearly not the answer. Buff News was right, the teams lack of Defnese did him in. I would even argue his Offense did him in ... and he was an "offensive guru".

Turns out Pete was right. You would of course expect a HC to say really positive things about a draftee he was responsible for ... talking him up so to speak. So, in this case he was right. I think the Bills ought to take a Seattle approach to finding a good QB: that is to keep trying until you find the right guy ... from matt Hassleback to Charlie Whitehurst to Tavaris Jackson to Russell WIlson. Keep trying til you find the right QB ... even if it takes 3-5 years ... keep trying ,,, knowing there are good picks in 2nd and 3rd round ...THEN build around around him, from inside out.

I had the exact same observation as I watched a bit of football last weekend as well. The Bills seem like boys among men. Other defenses seem to be controlling line of scrimmage, pushing back OL's and pressuring QB. Amazing to see wide open TE's and to watch QB's throw accurate passes into tight coverage. Seems so foreign to me. Watching Bills offense with white knuckles just waiting for the F'up to happen or another 3 and out. Are there vast differences between the Bills and elite teams or do we just need a good QB and a couple more play makers? Another thought: Nix hired Chan and Chan hired George Edwards and then Dave Wanstadt. Why George Edwards? Why gamble? What were his qualifications? Waste of time, IMO. Wanny doesnt seem to have any answers to ability to adjust or innovate. We hardly have an attacking defense and are not scaring ANY teams out there. Bah Humbug, Merry Christmas.

Agreed, my thoughts exactly. Wannstadt must go, which is a given when Chan gets the heave ho. Still can't get over how much time Russell Wilson had in the pocket (all too familiar week in and week out) ... moreover 270 yards rushing ... 8.2 yds per carry. LOTS of improving to do in offseason. Marshawn and coaches were laughing on sidelines ... says it all.

DUH?? Of course lose out. Look what a top draft pick gets you: Luck, RG3, etc ... Pah-leese. Not to mention we lost out on Luke Kuechley, Von Miller,etc ... in years past and those guys are really good LB's.
