Question: several weeks ago there was some chatter about renovations for The Ralph for roughly 200 million. If they approve and go through with renovations and are complete by say 2014, what happens if Mr Wilson passes after? Is it possible that the Bills move leaving a $200m+ stadium with no NFL team? Highly unlikely I imagine ... I guess Erie County, New York, and taxpayers would need some iron clad assurance that the team stays local. Your thoughts?
-
Sorry if this question has been asked and answered ... but ... with all the recent talk about renovating The Ralph I have a question about Mr Wilson and his "plans" for the team upon his demise. It seems unclear what will happen when he does pass. Conventional wisdom says it will pass to his heirs and then they will sell the Bills. But to whom? The highest bidder? What if that bidder is in Los Angeles? Or Toronto? If Erie county and the team moves forward with renovations for roughly $200 million and are completed within 2-3 years ... then Mr Wilson passes shortly thereafter ... is it possible for the team to go elsewhere thus leaving a newly renovated stadium with no NFL team? What guarantees would New York State, Erie County or taxpayers have to ensure this would not happen? This has to be an obvious discussion in WNY, but I have not seen any articles or answers on this???

BILLS @ JETS Early Predictions
DallasBillsFan1 replied to Frostbelt City's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I understand your concern. They swept us last year and the Jets will be a good team. Rex will have them ready. A lot will depend on how Sanchez plays when he plays the Bills. Sanchez is hot and cold. BUT, the Jets do have weaknesses ... Sanchez being one of them ... again it depends on how he plays. As for Tebow, remember how Bills nailed Denver last year. We contained him well and made him make mistakes. Don't underestimate Wandstadt (sp?) and what he will do with our defense and scheme. I like the 4-3 and our personnel to make it effective. I think Bills offense will improve. My guess is that Bills will at least split with Jets this coming season and have a good shot to sweep Jets. I think we can split with Pats as well and we should sweep Miami ... but don't under estimate Miami ... they are a great unknown in our division. Remember - Miami also swept us last year ... with Jay Mohr at QB ... and I thought Bills were a much better team them Miami last year. If Bills can stay somewhat healthy, I think they should go 4-2 in Division. -
Stevie has minor groin surgery
DallasBillsFan1 replied to Lurker's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wha Wha What? Stevie Johnson to have "very minor" groin surgery? Why now? Why didn't he have that after season ended? Especially after it nagged him last least season. This is bad, really bad. The sky is falling. My glass is half full. There goes the season .... -
RD 3, Pick #69: WR TJ Graham - NC State
DallasBillsFan1 replied to SDS's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
CBS Sports didn't even have him rated. IMO, a bit of a reach, especially for a trade up? I don't understand, did Bills think Carolina was going to take him? I watched his highlight reel and the kid is FAST ,, holy mackrel is he FAST. He friggin accelerates past defenders. Yeah, I agree, Roscoe v2. -
RD 1, Pick #10: DB Stephon Gilmore - South Carolina

Who would throw to him if he was picked? -
Casserly: Buffalo picks Tannehill
DallasBillsFan1 replied to Buffalo Barbarian's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
IMO, picking T-hill would negate all the positives of this offseason. I don't believe he is the answer at QB. After RG3 the value and quality drops off substantially. -
NFL Sunday Ticket cost reduced by 40%
DallasBillsFan1 replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Count me in at this price. I got it free last season b/c I signed up and left ATT Uverse. I was going to forego this season at $350 for the Ticket, but at $199 I can't go wrong. Go Bills! Can't wait to see what they do in Draft ... one week from tonight! -
Saw on ESPN web site that Bills only have 5 games against "quality" opponents (funny, Patriots have even fewer at 4 games against "quality" opponents). This is based on 2011 records. If we accept that Bills have an "easy" schedule in 2012, AND, with all the defensive moves in the offseason + what's in store in the draft, as I see it, Bills win a minimum of 9 games. Projected Wins Miami 2 Jets 1 Patriots 1 Houston 0 Indy 1 Denver 1 San Fran 0 Cardinals 1 Jags 1 Ravens 0 St Louis 1 Seahawks 1 There you go! .... 10 wins ... we are in playoffs! If they can't pull at least 9 wins out of their a** then we r F**ked. You saw it here first.

CJ or Fred? You can only keep one
DallasBillsFan1 replied to FrankReichComeback's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FRED ALL DAY EVERY DAY. I did not see Spiller towards end of season as most of you did ... I read that he exploded and matured. That's good for us, however, I saw Fred at beginning of season and the dude was a stud ... near elite performance until he got hurt. I get that Spiller is younger and we paid a bunch of $$, but Freds performance stands on it's own ... head and shoulders above most if not all other RB's in league last season. I would trade Spiller, give Fred a nice 2 year extension. Good/Great RB's are easy to find in FA or Draft. -
Buddy Nix Place a TON Of Pressure On Ownership
DallasBillsFan1 replied to BuffaloBaumer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I heard Garcon turned down big offer from Indy ... seems he wants to get paid. Garcon will not land in Buffalo. Also, who will throw ball to Vincent Jackson? Fitzy? VJ will want a team with a more "elite" QB who can deliver accurately (and a BIG paycheck) . VJ will not land in Buffalo either. Maybe Meachum? -
Rams, Redskins make a deal for the #2 pick
DallasBillsFan1 replied to cantankerous's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hope RG3 has a great career ... exciting player. He'll be fun to watch. Having said that, RG3 should be concerned about Mr Snyder's bad luck ... he's an overspender and typically makes poor decisions running the football team. Also, I always liked Mike Shanahan ,,, the guy was a stud in Denver. I recall that one Denver (against San Diego) game where Denver scored touchdown and the extra point would've tied the game but Shanny decided to go for two points and Denver won. BUT ... I have the sense that it is over for Shanahan. He's lost IT. Lame move and subsequent excuse for pulling McNabb a couple years ago and just poor decisions with personnel and game management. It's so over. I could see this deal for Luck, but not for RG3 ... huge gamble, very risky. But hey, Mr Snyder is a multi millionaire and I made 50k last year. -
I did not see a few of the games towards the end of the season so I missed Spiller's performance. I hear he ran the rock really well. I think SPiller will be great RB, BUT >>> IMO we need to keep Fred as the feature RB. He was a stud in 2011. He is not elite, but he is very close ... a very good RB. The guy's a friggin stud. Sign him now! I agree!! He is an integral part of our offense!

Fred Jackson to get screwed?
DallasBillsFan1 replied to Rob's House's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Watch Belichick pick up Fred and win Super Bowl with him. Seriously though, I want Fred back. He's a stud and had an incredible season prior to injury. OK, he's not a great RB, but I think he is a VERY good RB ... not just above average. 1 Bills Drive should move heaven and earth to re-sign him. -
The Last laugh is on the Dolfans
DallasBillsFan1 replied to bisonbrigade's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen Brother! Agreed. 100% correct. Aaron Rogers, Drew Brees, Rothlisburger, Manning, Manning, Brady, Kurt Warner, John Elway, Favre ... all winners of last 13 Superbowls. I left out Baltimore and Tampa Bay because they had such dominant defenses and got by with average QB's ... but a dominant defense isnt coming to Buffalo any time soon. Better to draft and groom a stud. Top tier QB's dont overshoot a receiver in stride by 6 yards and also throw picks week after week. Sorry, really do love you Fitz, but it aint happening Bro. Dreadful play last few weeks. Ouch,. -
A few weeks back I heard something about Fitz' contract ... that after the first year (this year) the Bills had the option to let him go and be off the hook for the remainder of his contract. Is this real? Does anyone know? I hope it is true and I hope he is let go. I love the guy, and I recall when he filled in for Carson Palmer several years back ... did an aewsome job and I was happy we got him as backup. But the last several weeks say it all ...regression and losing. Clearly NOT the answer. Even average teams don't lose 7 games in a row. Bills must have the worst luck of any organization ... over committing to Dick Jauron during a winning streak and then the same with Fitzy. What a friggin bummer.

The bills have the worst defense I have ever seen
DallasBillsFan1 replied to berndogg's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Amen Brother. In was b*tching about the Jets game. No pressure at all on Sanchez. None. Didn't see any on Rivers at all either. Don't know if any sacks b/c I didnt watch full game ... very little pressure if any though. I say draft high and early on the best Defensive players available. We have a decent enough offense. Buffalo needs to build a dominant defense. -
Let me point out the obvious - I started watching mid first quarter and then watched rest of game Jets game today. At no time did I see ANY pressure on Sanchez. THAT to me was the reason we lost ... not Stevie Johnson's drops ... not the bad kick in the third quarter ... rather, Buffalo's simple inability to get ANY pressure on the QB. It's really remarkable ... none. The Jets did not bring their "A" game as they did three weeks ago and truly should have lost todays game. Get to the QB or at least get some pressure on him and that forces mistakes. IMO, Buffalo needs to spend several high draft picks in 2012 and 2013 and start to build a dominant defense (ala Baltimore and Pittsburgh). Dareus can't do it by himself. We have a serviceable offense that can hold it's own for now ... build a solid defense and all else will fall into place. I like NIx and I think he can do it.

Congrats on both parts. I live in Dallas and am looking forward to seeing Bills romp on the 'Boys that day. You will like the stadium. I did a tour last year and it is amazing. I understand there will be some great Bills Backers parties and tailgating going on.

Bills bars across the nation
DallasBillsFan1 replied to bobs0108's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think they have one in a Holiday Inn there or one of the hotels right on Cocoa Beach. I used to live in Melbourne and I learned they had one there but never went. Check the websites and you may find one. -
I am going with a fellow Rochester transplant. We live in north Dallas area. Looking forward to seeing how many other Bills fans make it. I toured Cowboys stadium last year ... you will be very impressed with the stadium. I'm sure you got a sense of how nice it is on TV (Superbowl) but in person it is amazing. And, I think Bills will have a shot to win the game. I think 2011 Bills will surprise all. GO BILLS!

A Bold Prediction Concerning the QB's
DallasBillsFan1 replied to Geno Smith's Arm's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear Jeff George still wants to play. The Bills should give him a call. -
I listened to Marty today on Sirius along with SOlomon Wicotz(?) Anyway, Marty mentioned Buddy Nix' name when speaking about the importance of personnel people in an NFL organization. Interesting he mentioned Buddy's name.
