  1. Joe Buck on calling Bills-Bengals, the biggest ‘Monday Night Football’ game in decades Joe Buck jogs his memory and the answer is clear: He has never called an AFC regular-season game with this much on the line. With he* and Troy Aikman’s first year in the “Monday Night Football” booth concluding in a couple of weeks, the duo gets a massive New Years gift: The Bills (12-3) traveling to Cincinnati to play the Bengals (11-4) on Monday night, with a later-than-normal 8:30 p.m. ET kickoff. The teams’ combined 23 wins is tied with Denver and San Francisco in 1997 for the most ever wins entering a “Monday Night Football” broadcast. The game has massive implications for both teams given the No. 1 seed in the AFC is still undecided. It’s also a showcase between two of the game’s best quarterbacks — Josh Allen and Joe Burrow. “We’ve (he and Aikman) never called a game in the AFC with this much on the line in our 21 years,” Buck said this week. “You hoped when the schedule came out that it would come down to something like this, but there’s so many different factors involved that rarely does it get there, whether it’s an injury or one team doesn’t play as well as you think it will. But this feels like an AFC Championship Game to me. I was just thinking about the game, and I got that rush of nerves and excitement that I would typically get the week of the Super Bowl. It was a great feeling to have.” https://theathletic.com/4035653/2022/12/29/joe-buck-bills-bengals/?source=dailyemail&campaign=601983 * - Pointing this out because it never ceases to amaze me how people who are paid to write and/or speak in the media cannot grasp when to use he vs. his. 2. I wonder how often Willis gets asked what he's talking about.
  3. We've been watching this over the past couple weeks and are up to Episode 6. I love me a good whodunit and this is a great one! Great acting, too. I'll come back and chime in when we finish it up, which should be by the end of the weekend.

  5. If there is one player who should not be representing himself, it's Lamar Jackson. What a dolt.
  6. I have always been a Carr fan. Raiders have never done him many favors, between coaches, defense and offensive weapons/line. It's a shame that he's spent his entire career with an organization who talks a good game, but doesn't back it up.
  7. The injury clause in his contract. Seems they've already made their minds up that this is his last season in Vegas. If he's to play the final two games and gets injured, Vegas would owe him $40 million. Benching him is the only way to prevent that from happening. They're not even making him active.
  8. Agreed. The Bills are scoring 28 points/game, which is 2nd in the AFC (KC - 29.2). Bills are also averaging 260 passing yards/game. KC (#1) averages 304 passing yards/game. Chiefs average just 19 more total offense yards/game than the Bills (#1 and #2 in the NFL, respectively). Who cares how the yards come? They're scoring a lot of points and that's what wins games.

  10. Come with me, my love To the sea, the sea of love I want to tell you How much I love you
  11. I think they only feed WRs who get more than 20 yards receiving in the most recent game.

    Prayer Request

I'm sorry to hear of your and your friends' loss. Always terribly sad to learn of any child's death.
  13. The roids make them as big as they are. Just look at how much these guys shrink after they stop playing. Jeff Saturday is barely recognizable. Eric Wood looks like Thurman Merman in Bad Santa 2. It's the roids.
  14. Few people like attention as much as JJ Watt.
  15. Thank GOD! So tired of hearing this guy’s knob get slobbered every time he’s televised. I’m always interested in seeing what these roid boys look like a few months to a year after retiring.
  16. I became friends with my best childhood friend at the age of 10. We'd actually gone to Kindergarten together, but it wasn't until we were in 4th grade that we became close friends. We remained best of friends into our 30s. He was best man at my wedding. Among the first to hold my newborn son. We simply drifted apart after that. He'd dealt with some substance abuse and mental health issues, through the onset of which I was there for him. Then something really changed in him and he'd just become weird ... almost creepy. Said inappropriate things to married female friends of mine ... said inappropriate things about underage (teen) girls. That's when I decided to distance myself from him and told him as much. We keep in touch, but other than in passing at the grocery store or at a pizza joint getting takeout, we've not seen each other and we only talk once in awhile via social media. He seems to have calmed down, from what I can see, but is still troubled. He reached out just before Christmas and we agreed that we should find some time to hang out after the holidays wind down. I always wish the best for him, but we're just two different people now in different places in our lives. If he ever needed me, I'd be there for him and I'm sure he'd be there for me if I ever needed him. That's what friendship is really all about, to me.
  17. The only thing I can think of is that I was able to don me my Bills apparel and get to the grocery store before all of the Christmas Eve activity began for the day. Watched the beginning of the game at my house. Girlfriend and I headed over to my parents' at around 1:35. After Buffalo scored its first TD on the pass to Davis, I said, "I'm gonna take a quick leak before we leave," then I said, "maybe I should wait until Bass kicks the extra point .... nah, he's got this." When I came out of the bathroom to see the 7-6 score, that's when I knew that my actions were going to dictate what happened in this game. While we were packing up her car, I noticed that my Bills flag was laying in a bush; the wind had managed to pull the entire flag pole out of the holder. I said, "I'll get that before we leave." Well, I forgot. Then I forgot to text my son to ask him to fix it. I decided that I did not want to wear my jersey to my GF's family's gathering. At about 3pm, I changed into a flannel shirt and we headed out to her family's house .. about 15 minutes away. The game was blacked out on the NFL Ticket app, and my girlfriend has the lower tier of Sirius/XM that does NOT include the NFL stations. Luckily, we have a local FM radio station that broadcasts Bills games. At the point when we left the car to go inside, the Bills were winning, but not by much. Had they fallen behind, the jersey was in the car and I was prepared to change back into it. Get inside and the TV isn't even on. I wasn't about to ask them to put the game on when I was clearly the only one there who cared about it. I will say that nearly everyone was wearing a flannel shirt, so that was a good call. I listened to the game on my phone (quietly ,,, I put the phone, speaker side up, in my shirt pocket on the side of my good ear) via the Sirius/XM app. Of course, I sat next to one of the guys I'm more familiar with and his mouth went like a duck's ass. WOULD NOT STOP TALKING. So when he finally came up for air every couple minutes, I'd just put my phone to my ear to hear what was going on. The app also kept the score updated, so I knew the Bills were in control. My karma game was much like the Bills game. I did so many things that SHOULD have led to a loss, but in the end, I did enough (going to the market; watching/listening whichever way I could) to pull it out in the end. And it was all my pleasure!
  18. I would guess that I’ve been one of Síngletary’s biggest fans on this board since he was drafted. I think he’s been fantastic. I agree that he’s underrated. That said, money needs to be spent on the o line. Make the o line better, keep Cook as RB1 and get a lower-priced free agent vet to mentor/spell Cook. That’s just what I would do. Not saying anyone is right or wrong.
  19. Oh, so do I. I just think there are certain things that need to be taken into consideration. High winds, sub-zero wind chills, expedited travel ... I think those are noteworthy factors. It was a team win. Josh made a couple bad decisions; there were lots of penalties; we turned the ball over three times ... and the defense made sure those turnovers didn't hurt us. Can we turn the ball over three times in a playoff game and expect to win? Likely not. But this wasn't a playoff game. The Bills ended up winning in a blowout. They still control their own destiny and have been the only team favored to win the Super Bowl since the end of last season. That's some good sh!t, man.
  20. I remember when I used to focus primarily on the negative stuff. That's no fun. Three total TDs is what I choose to take away from yesterday. Yes ... they were sloppy. So what? They won by three TDs on the road, in freezing temperatures.
  21. Hopefully the one who passed for 2 TDs and rushed for one more, yesterday.
  22. Singletary should be gone. Don't give RBs big money. That's why Cook was drafted. Do it all over again in a couple years.
  23. Appreciate the updates from people living through it as it's happening. I wish the best for all of you.
  24. I think this rule is stupid. I hope he wins his appeal and they change the rule. Gambling is being shoved down our throats every time we turn the TV and radio on. Give me an effin' break.
  25. What can I do, what can I be? When I'm with you I want to stay there If I'm true, I'll never leave And if I do, I know the way there Ooh, then I suddenly see you Ooh, did I tell you I need you Every single day of my life Got to get you into my life
