HFBD, dude. Sorry I missed it!

I’m on and off all day whilst working. Very little during the evening and on weekends.

I guess it must be difficult being a lying, cheating, stealing, selfish, narcissistic a-hole with a tiny penis that a cheerleader shared with the world. -
LMAO!!! I can tell you with certainty that she is MUCH smarter than I am!

I don’t know … small venue, so the $68 seats might be well worth it to a Who/Roger fan. This brings up another topic that kinda frosts my ass: it seems that anyone can book an arena tour these days. In another thread, I mentioned that the Goo Goo Dolls are on an arena tour. Are you kidding me? I’ve already made up my mind that my arena concert days are over. Last arena show I went to was Foo Fighters at MSG in 2021. I had a great time, but I spent most of the night watching a screen. Never again … not for today’s prices. It was nice when bands would be post-prime and book gigs at 3,000 seat venues. I hope those days come back.

Yeah, that is friggin' nuts. I saw Cheap Trick last summer when they opened up for Rod Stewart. I was pleasantly surprised at how great they sounded; particularly Robin Zander's voice. They were great. We had lawn seats, so it wasn't that expensive - they (Saratoga Performing Arts Center) had a special through which we got tickets for $25/each. I hate to sound like the old guy yelling at clouds, but back in the 80s and even into the early 90s, lawn seats were a standard price of $9 for all of their concerts. Now, the normal lawn seat goes for at least $50 which I refuse to pay. Cheap Trick was great ... but not $200 great.

You need to go directly to the pot shop. Get yourself some nice indica bud. And chill the f*ck out.

I said I'd be happy if either Daboll or Shanahan won it. I am happy for Daboll. I think Shanahan deserved it more, but that takes nothing at all away from the job Daboll did. He certainly earned it.

How much does sports success & failure affect your life?
Gugny replied to Success's topic in Off the Wall
I think this loss to the Bengals disappointed me more than it upset me/pissed me off. They quit. I know that might not be a popular opinion, but it's how I feel. It's nothing I dwell on, or really even think about at this point. BUT ... I will say that I've never been less-interested in a Super Bowl Sunday than I am today, just a couple days from the game. Normally, I've got a menu all set and I'm excited about shopping for all of the food and a day full of cooking leading to an evening full of eating and drinking. I have absolutely zero plans. Not even any ideas for food. I don't even know who the halftime entertainment is. All I know is that I'm rooting for the Eagles, but I'm not even looking forward to watching. I do think that the way the Bills' season ended has a lot to do with it. -
You got me runnin', goin' out of my mind You got me thinkin' that I'm wastin' my time Don't bring me down

We are incredibly lucky to have Ron, Keith and Gary. There is no other broadcast team in any sport that is better than them, IMO. And I'll opine the same with regard to Howie Rose on the radio.

Very cool! I didn't read much of the article, because I didn't want any spoilers. Another very cool, Mets-related thing attached to the Super Bowl ... Kevin Burkhardt. It seems like yesterday that he was in the stands for Mets games. Now he's top dawg at Fox and doing the Super Bowl. I think that is fantastic!

How much does sports success & failure affect your life?

I only closely follow the Bills and Mets. As I've gotten older (I'm 52), the losses bother me much less. A lot of it is just having realistic expectations. For the Mets, last season was the only season since the 80s that I felt like they SHOULD go to the World Series. It was a great ride and I actually had the pleasure of watching their season end vs. the Padres with @Beerball and his family, as we were all in Buffalo for that week's Bills game. At that point, I really didn't expect the Mets to make a run because of all of their injuries, so the loss/end of season didn't really hurt much. For the Bills, the drought years pretty much conditioned me to expect very little. The Rex Ryan/Tyrod Taylor era was easily the worst for me. I really thought the Rex hire and his pursuit of Taylor set the team back years and it was frustrating to watch it all unfold. It was the closest I've ever come to saying f*ck it and just taking a hiatus. But I didn't. I continued to watch the games, but I was numb. Then came McDermott, Beane and Josh. For the 2018, 19 and 20 seasons, nothing could get me down about this team. I enjoyed all of the good stuff that happened and the majority of the bad stuff affected me very little. With success comes higher expectations (for me, anyway). The last two seasons have been full of ups in the regular season and painful losses in the postseason. I'm less optimistic about our chances of winning a Super Bowl with Josh and it's not a great feeling. But it's nothing that affects my life in any way, shape or form. Going into next season, my expectations will be more realistic than they've been for the past two seasons. I've gotten to the point where I feel that as long as the current coaching staff is in place, there is no chance at winning a Super Bowl. So next season, I'll enjoy the regular season and expect to win (maybe) one playoff game before getting bounced the following week. And then I'll set my sights on baseball season, like I always do. -
Goo Goo Dolls were a significant contributor to 90s music, but I don't think they're in the MR discussion. They're still very much in demand, as they embark on a 2023 world tour playing arenas/amphitheaters that hold 17k+ people.

Michael Irvin Removed from NFL Network Superbowl LVll Coverage

Apparently, it’s running him crazy and we should all employ a little empathy for that reason, alone. -
Agreed. And if we're strictly considering Rock and Roll artists, two no-brainers that come to mind for me are Boston and Jethro Tull.
-
Yeah, they really need to consider dropping "Rock and Roll," altogether. It's a Music Hall of Fame. There's nothing wrong with that. But don't call it what it clearly is not. It's been silly from the get-go.

My name is Gug. My head is not really a baseball. Sometimes I like to smoke the devil's lettuce, but not very often. My favorite Eye Talian restaurant is Olive Garden because it is authentic. I grew up thinking I was partially Italian until I found out that my grandfather was not my biological grandfather. He was a miserable bastard, so I'm glad I don't have his genes. Speaking of genes, I've never seen my dad wear jeans. Dickies. Always Dickies. I think that's pretty neat. Lots of people on this site make fun of me because they heard I have a small penis. But my mom always told me that it's not the size of the wand that matters; it's the magic it produces. I'm pretty sure I have children in at least three continents. My first cat's name was Janis. Janis died a pretty violent death, so I'd rather not talk about it. Merrell makes my favorite footwear. I don't have any hair on my armpits or my legs. I always wear a belt, whether I need to, or not. I'm a lot shorter than @LeviF.- 84 replies

Major Sports Alignment and Playoff Qualifying
Gugny replied to Mike in Horseheads's topic in The Stadium Wall
I'm okay with the current NFL setup, but a change/realignment would not break my heart. The division winner getting an automatic spot in the post-season is one thing I'd consider changing. It's like conference tournament winners in NCAA basketball making it into March Madness. Why? Those 16-seeds are largely garbage. I'd love to see something that could calculate up to the minute strength of schedule throughout the season and adjust seedings/rankings accordingly. MLB ... too many playoff teams. Too many teams, period, if you ask me. The structure of the league isn't high on my list of concerns. Rob Manfred turning the game into a little league atmosphere is a bigger problem, but I won't derail the thread ... not to mention, I get so pissed off when I start talking about it that watching 13-seconds would cheer me up.
