  1. This does ruin a lot of the excitement of the draft. I love how the analysts still sit there and pretend the pick is going to be a surprise when everyone in the world has already seen the obvious player on his cell phone and crying for the past 5 minutes. And for the record, Saturday by far for the first few rounds for me. Made for a perfect all day party that usually coincided with some of the first nice days to be outside for us around the NYS area.
  2. Weird how everyone is saying confirmed but neither the espn nor yahoo live FA blogs are showing anything.... Smells like BS but I hope it's not.
  3. Well sorry for the sky-is-falling defeatism. SU still has a good team and they do have a lot of depth but losing a big man's presence down low like his is going to hurt any team's chances at winning the entire thing whether you're a balanced "team" or not.
  4. Just heard that terrible news myself before I checked here... If we thought their rebounding was poor before... wow! Hope you all have time to change your brackets.
  5. I'm surprised you didn't mention Robert Meachem. He has size and speed to be a good deep threat and is going to come a lot cheaper than someone like Vincent Jackson. Also he has been playing in an offense that spreads the ball around a lot so you wouldn't expect to get any complaining out of him about not getting the ball enough. I would expect there to be a good chance of a lot of complaining coming out of VJ so for the money I think Meachem would be a great pick up for the Bills to upgrade their passing attack.
  6. I like Floyd a lot more after watching a lot of the combine yesterday too. I think 10 might be a little too high for him though. I'd love him in round 2 but I'm sure he won't last that long. I really liked what I saw from that QB from Wisconsin, Russel Wilson, as maybe a third day pick for the Bills. Would need some development over a few years for sure but his speed and athleticism seem like they would be a perfect fit into Gailey's offense.
  7. I found this to usually be the case too for myself. But for WVA last weekend I got there about 1030 and there were only a few spots left. Maybe there was something else going on that morning but the attendance ended up being over 28k that game so with that in mind I am planning on getting there even earlier for UConn in case it does end up being over 30k.
  8. East Adams St is where you can find a few good lots close to Marshall, and Faegans is a block up towards the dome from there. I usually park in one of those lots but like another poster mentioned it could be pretty crowded for UConn. If you're not parked in one of those lots by 1030 they are likely to be full. Varsity is a decent pregame spot too, right next to Faegans, if you're looking for pizza/wings type food. But again it gets pretty packed by 11 so you need to be there early.
  9. I was at that game and it definitely was a tough loss. The Kelly fumble was BS, but IIRC it was Natrone Means running wild all over the D that did the Bills in that day. Seemed like for a couple years there the Bills D just did not have an answer for those big punishing backs.
  10. I love Buffalo and I HATE Brady, but sadly he has a point. Adam's Mark is supposedly one of the city's nicer hotels and while the place isn't a dump it definitely isn't anything that would be rated above 2 stars in most cities. But to stay in the spirit I believe this thread was started in... F' Brady, I hope he gets beaten to near-death this Sunday.
  11. Wow. I really hope that was an attempt at sarcastic humor.
  12. This is so sad. Play-off Counter
  13. Jim Henson should be sainted for bringing the awesomeness that is the Muppets to the world. New movie is fantastic by the way for any who haven't seen it yet.
  14. This was probably posted in another thread but definitely fits here. http://espn.go.com/nfl/playoffs/machine You can easily work out all the scenarios. Basically from what I can gather, besides the Bills winning out, they would need to finish with a better record than the Bengals, Titans, and Jets. Albeit a small chance, it is still a chance in December, which coming into this year was really all I was hoping for.
  15. Why is it that every time someone on this board says anything negative about the media as a whole anyone else who actually works in the media takes personal offense and gets extremely upset about it? Every single occupation on the planet has people involved doing a half-a55ed job at it. I work as an engineer and if I hear someone talking about a bunch of crappy work other engineers did my first thought isn't to fight back, first thing in my mind is that they are probably 5hitty engineers. I guess I am missing something but it seems pretty obvious to me these days, with the expanded medium, that there is a lot of bad/lazy journalism out there. So if I was a journalist instead of getting mad and defending them I would just make sure my work was above reproach.
  16. Thanks again. With this info it is more than likely I will spending my xmas-eve afternoon there. Hopefully the Bills game sells out but if not I will be a huge Giants fan that day and with any luck will be able to see them knock the loud mouth Jets out of play-off contention.
  17. Thanks. That is the one I am talking about.
  18. Thanks, I figured that would be the case. Will be in town for the holiday and was hoping to walk to a place from my sister's house to start the festivities early with some beer and football. Now I just have to hope Quaker Steak is open on Christmas Eve day.
  19. With all of the Fox and CBS games in week 16 being on a Saturday instead because of the holiday is it safe to assume all of those games not shown locally will be available on the ticket? I would think they would have to be but just curious if anyone subscribed to NFL ticket the last time Christmas fell on a Sunday and they moved most of the games.
  20. I would be embarrassed if I was one of the people who have been posting "let's just lose out" the last week or so. First off I think you can't argue against that HOW you draft is much more important than WHERE you draft. But the craziest thing about it is the Bills are STILL ALIVE for a play-off spot. Unlikely or not it CAN happen and HAS happened to other long shot NFL teams over the years. If the only way you are rooting for your team to win is if they enter December with 10 wins or more go be a front running Pats* fan with the rest of the m@ssholes.
  21. At the start of the season my hope was that the team showed some improvement and that come December they were still alive for the play-offs so at least some of the final games could mean something. After the hot start I was definitely thinking higher but now that reality is starting to set in I can't really complain. The team has shown a lot of improvement, when healthy, and even with a loss to the Jets this Sunday there still will be a mathematical chance to get into postseason even if it is only a very small one. I know for most teams it is a pretty low bar to set but as a Bills fans you have to keep some of your high hopes in check to avoid serious disappointment every year.
  22. Picard definitely had his supporters. It took a good team to be such an elite Starfleet crew and Riker contributed a lot without a doubt. However Picard could handle things on his own when he needed to. Kirk on the other hand had the intelligence of Bluto Blutarsky. Without Spock he would have been lost, likely off somewhere trying to defend Pearl Harbor from being bombed by the Germans.
  23. Kirk did this? Anyway Kirk has his good traits. He b@nged a lot of chicks and played by his own rules. The guy would definitely be cool to hang out with and drink some beers. However if I am in Starfleet and heading into a starship battle I want someone a lot more sophisticated and intelligent as the captain of the ship I am on. Someone who has continuously proven to be a true leader and superior tactical commander to everyone he has faced. That guy is Picard.
  24. FYI for anyone who might be interested, Fred Jackson was on Dan LeBatard's radio show yesterday. The interview is included on his podcast, The Dan LeBatard Show with Stugotz, and this is available for free through iTunes. It is the show for 11-17 and the interview starts around 26:30.
  25. No one is arguing for Janeway?
