  1. Late extended lunch? That is what I am going to try and pull off.
  2. Thanks for the input so far guys. Unlike Chef, suggestions and opinions on things in the area are welcome and appreciated.
  3. It is looking extremely likely that I will be heading to San Diego next month for work and remaining there for most of the time through the rest of 2011. This will take me through the entire 2011 season, if they play it, so I was looking for some information on watching Bills games out there. I have been to the Bills Backers website and the San Diego Bills Backers Club website so I have the basic information. I am looking for some details from people with first hand experiences out there that I can keep in my back pocket until the fall rolls around. I realize this is very early to be looking for this kind of information but the better part of work this week for me has been dealing with the details required for this trip and I can't think of any detail more important than the when/what/where of Bills game viewing.
  4. Yeah, it is funny how your perception on that stuff changes over time. I guess my comment on this cover with Brady shows how 10 years of losing has my Pats* hate being celebrated more than my Bills love. As for the rest of the links people are posting... I should have guessed this would become a swimsuit issue thread even though I did put a disclaimer saying excluding swimsuit issues.
  5. Ha, I am older than you. No doubt there are a lot of awesome Bills covers from the glory days but seeing Brady on the cover of a magazine looking the fool is priceless IMHO. Especially when considering all the covers he has done for GQ, People, and other non sports mags. No hair and no UGGS present here, just Brady getting killed and looking like he is about to cry from fear. With all the Brady slurping from the media we as Bills fans have had to endure over the last 9 years, as well as the rest of the non-Pats* fans out there, a picture like this can't be celebrated enough.
  6. Nice, that is great too, somehow never saw that one. Great to bring back the memory of being at that game, sadly there are a lot of Pats* games I have been to since then that I would like to forget.
  7. Sorry if this has been posted. But even if it has it warrants extra sharing because all Bills fans will appreciate the look of fear in Brady's eyes. http://cdn3.sbnation.com/imported_assets/636480/227190130.jpg I'll admit I am a little jealous it wasn't a Bill inflicting this damage but I'll take it just the same.
  8. Has to be the Steelers. Two weeks of Rex and the rest of his team running their mouths up to the Superbowl would be too much for any non-fan of the Jets.
  9. I always thought your zodiac sign is determined by what you are actually born under, not just when your birthday falls. In other words where the stars were when you entered the world is what gives you the personality stuff of your sign. So that being said I would think this would only affect babies born going forward, right? Not saying I believe in any of this stuff anyway, just curious why people seem to be so fired up about it.
  10. For food or drink near HSBC try: http://www.pearlstreetgrill.com/ Only a block or two from the arena. They have great beer and food but if you want to eat dinner there go early because it gets packed for Sabres games. The place is huge though and by mid march you might get lucky with the weather and have it nice enough to use their porch as well. In any case it is always my favorite place to go before/after a Sabres game.
  11. There has to be something more to it than just that. I fly a lot and it seems to me with all the books, magazines and sleeping very few are ever paying attention to any of those emergency instructions.
  12. You guys make it seem like hoping for something to happen is actually going to make it happen. How about you root for the Bills and just let things fall the way they will because regardless of who you want to win that is how it is going to work. The Bills could win and still be drafting top 5 if some other lowly teams pull off some upsets too. Way too much energy is wasted arguing about this. When the season is over it is going to be a lot more important how we draft instead of where we draft.
  13. From what I remember the Sex Pistols have actually done that already. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Sex_pistols.gif
  14. The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame is a joke IMHO. I don't see how anyone could consider that place valid when someone like Madonna gets inducted while The Guess Who and Rush sit waiting.
  15. I always thought CNY was well out of the black out area too, but then I moved out here about 6 years ago and learned the hard way that they are also blacked out. From what I understand sometime in the mid 90s the FCC determined that the Syracuse CBS affiliate can reach a tiny sliver of East Rochester that is within the blacked out zone. So by rule they can't broadcast it either. Then because so many other places around Syracuse use their CBS they end up getting boned too so places like Rome and Utica also are blacked out. Seems kind of silly that 200 miles away can still be blacked out but I'm not holding my breath waiting for anyone to reexamine these archaic NFL rules. If you go look at the 10/10 game, Jacksonville, on that map link people referred to above you get a good look at where the lines are for who sees it and who can't.
  16. This is unfortunately not true. Syracuse stations do get blacked out as well. You have to be almost as far east as Albany, as far north as Watertown, or as far south as Binghampton to avoid the stupid black out.
  17. Go Bears! Go Jacksonville! (If we want the chance to knock NY out of the play-offs that last week we actually need San Diego to lose because the Jets win a 3-way tie.)
  18. Aside from the divisional games and assuming the formula stays the same for 2011: Home: Skins, Eagles, KC, Denver, (AFC South 4th place) Houston as it stands right now. Away: Cowboys, Giants, Oakland, San Diego, (AFC North 4th place) Cincy most likely.
  19. I thought seasons 1-4 were excellent. Especially 4, Lithgow was incredible. However I thought this season was very mediocre. I agree with the previous posters about the stolen car thing. Seemed like another example of the poor writing this season as compared to others. It was too easy in a lot of episodes to poke holes in what was going on and Dexter was much too sloppy to keep buying luck is what is saving him again and again. Hopefully next season can raise the bar again.
  20. For all of the people arguing on the "Take this more seriously" side, what would you suggest people do about this? Not attend NFL or college football games anymore, or just avoid any crowded place at all costs? Seems like there really is no answer that makes sense which is where I believe the "not living my life in fear" crowd is coming from. It is no secret that the world is a dangerous place. You have to evaluate personal risks every day in one way or another and hopefully come out on top more often than not. To me going to a Bills game or to the mall is still an acceptable risk, but I wouldn't judge anyone harshly who disagreed.
  21. This is a good and legit charity. I have sent about 100-150$ worth of stuff the last 5 years. Spending a lot of time in a hospital as a kid is bad enough but I can't imagine how terrible it would be to have to spend the holidays there too. If a few gifts Christmas morning can help make this even a little bit better then the money is well worth it to me. Also it isn't just video games. The Amazon wish-list has DVDs and other things on it as well.
  22. I lived somewhere for five years that didn't have Wegmans and was stuck with crappy Price Chopper. The first thing I did when moving back near one, literally the very first night in the new place, was shop at Wegmans. Honestly shopping had never made me happier. Only people who have experienced the awesomeness that is Wegmans can truly understand.
  23. Well the way that the Dallas offense was able to move the ball on the Bills D pretty easily the entire game it probably wouldn't have made much difference anyway. Nice to dream though.
  24. I doubled checked to make sure I wasn't misremembering. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Super_Bowl_XXVII#Game_summary Looks like the drive Kelly went down in ended in a FG too so 14-10 in the 2nd quarter. Not saying Kelly would have won the game but I for one would have rather had him playing the rest of the game despite Reich's play-off magic a couple weeks before.
