Week 8 - Bills @ Seahawks - 1st half game thread
BearNorth replied to BuffaloBill's topic in The Stadium Wall
I suspect that Jon Runyan [NFL fine czar] will probably drop a couple of fines on that one, one for RTP, the other for the stupidity on the sideline. -

Wondering if we could see some Javon Solomon at LB as thin as we are. -

Linebacker depth today is a bit unnerving, Spector, Morrow, Buffalo Joe, makes me a little nervous on kick returns as well. -
are the Jests really this bad?

Belichick on the NFL Network now. Much as I hate the guy for his success against the Bills, he is a very knowledgeable football mind. His analysis is actually a bit refreshing.

This guy is healthy and will be lining up against our receivers: Riq Woolen, CB, Seattle Seahawks 6'4 - 209 Length is a weapon for defensive backs, but too much length can make it nearly anatomically impossible to be an effective coverage defender at the NFL level. However, Riq Woolen is an outlier. Athletically, he shouldn’t really exist. His 4.26 40-yard yard dash is tied for the fifth-fastest time ever at the NFL Combine, while his 40-yard interception got him into the top 10 fastest speeds of the 2022 NFL season. FWIW -
Benford is #13 overall and in pass coverage, giving up a passer rating of 60.6 Johnson and Douglas are both tied for #58 overall. Taron is giving up a 98.8 passer rating when targeted Douglas is giving up a 118.6 passer rating when targeted Last year all three were in the top 20.

Interestingly through week 7 PFF has the #8 cornerback in the league as non other than the much maligned Levi Wallace. Only 14 cornerbacks on rosters over age 30. two; of these, Ramsey and Wallace grade out in the top 10. Top graded cornerback in the league [tho with limited snap count] is our own Kaiir Elam.

Is this a game where they bring up Cine, and play a lot of "Big Nickel" or even Dime, since it's likely we won't have to deal with Megatron II in Metcalf. -

Bernard is the 7th smallest linebacker in the NFL at 224 pounds. Two of the top 10 linebackers in the league are smaller than TB. We do need a Bobby Wagner sized thumper on the 2nd line. -
My Canadian friends will tell you that Leif Ericson landed in North America about 1021. He was a Christian Norseman from Greenland. That's about 471 years before CC landed on a Caribbean island.

We are ranked 20th in Total Defense, 20th in Rushing Defense 132.9 YPG, 4TD's, 17th in Pass Defense 209.1 YPG. Since McD is a defensive master-mind, must make for an interesting discussion with ownership. -
If the opponent plays nickel - Shakir will face the nickel, Kincaid will face a safety, and either a linebacker or safety will have to cover Cook. If they double Cooper, then Shakir will matchup against a safety along with Kincaid, and a linebacker will have to deal with Cook. Hopefully Brady in this situation has some screens dialed up.

The MVP Race is 3 Players & Why they Can Win
BearNorth replied to Wizard's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Chiefs go 17-0, Mahomes will be the MVP. Right now they are favored in every game for the rest of the season, and they have a very easy path [Bills & Houston are the best teams remaining on the Chief's schedule]. -

Josh's starting pass catching options are: Cooper, Coleman, Shakir, Kincaid, Cook. Works for me. Those are all quality options in the passing game.

5 Cities Tried to Steal The Bills From WNY
BearNorth replied to ExiledInIllinois's topic in The Stadium Wall
I think the San Antonio/Austin Corridor [5MM people] would support a team, but Jerry Jones will block that. San Diego had a team and let it walk, too many other things to do on the weekend. Orlando is then next biggest metro, but Tampa might think, not in my back yard, and Jacksonville struggles to fill their stadium. I was interested to see that other than Green Bay, Buffalo is still a bigger market than New Orleans, & esp when you add in Rochester, Buffalo's market is the same size as Nashville. -
How does that work with a toe drag? Receiver is moving towards the boundary, makes the catch, and pretty close to simultaneously does the toe tap. There is very little done other than catching the ball, getting two feet down and falling out of bounds. The football move here is simultaneous to the catch and getting parts of both feet down.
