Who will go down as the better QB, Tebow or Taylor?
transient replied to BringBackOrton's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
You left out the 126 passing yards per game average during that 2011 season. He had two games that season where he played the entire game and didn't eclipse 70 yds. -

Hero, maybe, but sports hero would require he be good at the position that he insists on playing in the sport... he would have made a fine fullback, though, I'm sure. -
It's like he thinks he's Non from Superman II Not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but yes, he's a goalie (unless you're counting shootouts, then he's a welcome mat); yes he's fought people on the ice, he's actually 6'4" and 240 lbs; and he's been know to come unglued during games, so he probably is a bit psychotic. Actually, that last picture kinda makes him look like the love child of Kiko Alonso and Vaclav Varada.

The 12 Best Coaching Candidates...what about Dave Toub?
transient replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not to mention that most special teams coaches are used to getting the most out of the talent at hand, since they're typically working with backups, so I would hope he'd be looking for the same perspective in OC/DC. Certainly would beat a total tear down to implement yet another system. The thing I can't get past with McDaniel, though, is the whole Tebow fiasco. That, to me, took some serious bad judgment, the very type of bad judgment that you would try to avoid in your head coach. -
You're not afraid that with the extra free time he'll stalk you and he and his neck tattoo will give you the crazy eyes stare?

Keep Rex, Fire Whaley....... by a 36 Year Bills Fan
transient replied to coldstorage5's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If everything that came to light in the media about this is correct, Fitz is gone (mercifully, I might add) because Buddy Nix was duped into a recorded conference call in which he is on record discussing how much Fitz sucks and how bad the QB draft class was. When the content of the call was leaked Fitz was incensed, rightfully so, and refused to renegotiate his contract, leading to his being cut and painting the franchise into the EJ corner. How is this on Whaley? -

Are you making fun of someone who quite possibly, if I read that correctly, only has one eye? -
Scathing Review of Doug Whaley - Buffalo News
transient replied to BuffaloBillsForever's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
FWIW, do they suggest you do it publicly or internally? Suppose one of the owners of an organization doesn't have a great affinity for local media due to its treatment of him from the beginning and he says internally "This report is patently false, and unless someone strongly objects, we're not going to give these dolts the satisfaction of indulging this bull **** publicly. They're clowns, and they're gonna write what they're gonna write. At the end of it all they'll be exposed for the frauds that they are. Sorry, Rex, but the pressers are gonna suck for the rest of the season. You up for it?" -

How Marrone left? Are you suggesting they should have had the foresight to negotiate the terms of his hire even before they owned the team? -

My disdain for Sullivan specifically, and TBN sports coverage in general, has nothing to do with them being critical of the team. It's just poor sports coverage by no better than mediocre writers/columnists. Gleason is terrible. The next cohesive collection of thoughts he puts together in print will be his first, and it would be overshadowed anyway by his eye-gougingly horrible written language skills. Sullivan, as an opinion piece writer, doesn't know the sport, has only one overarching opinion (that he is smarter than everyone else, and therefore he is entitled to aim vitriol in whatever direction he so chooses) - and he deigns rehash this singular opinion in a painfully formulaic way. When you read anything he writes, an exercise in futility that I mostly gave up years ago, it is the SAME article over and over again, just with a different target and slightly different insults. And to suggest it has only been happening for the last 17 years is uninformed, because he was writing the same piece in the Super Bowl years. I used to like both Graham and Carruci, but there must be something in the water, because both of their second go rounds have been plagued by the same dwindling professionalism and blasé writing. They don't seem cut out for the modern day technology new cycle with the increased volume expectation. Being an out of town sports fan that catches few games, having to rely on TBN for a significant chunk of the coverage is nearly as frustrating as being a Bills or Sabres fan to begin with. -

Sullivan's grammar and sentence structure are generally fundamentally sound, which is more than you can say for Gleason, but the content of his writing is pedestrian, at best. -
Adam Schefter: Rex Ryan to be fired end of season
transient replied to Yeezus's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
If Rex's back, which I'm personally not in favor of cuz I was skeptical of the hire in the first place, it needs to be with the stipulation of firing his brother and revamping the defensive staff. While I'm not sold this would be the answer, I'm kinda curious what the D would look like with Pettine back as DC under Rex, with autonomy and an infusion of talent at safety. -
...Insta-Graham. Clearly meant to be a joke, but really unintentionally (or possibly intentionally)sums up the lack of professionalism within TBN's sports coverage and his disregard for the team, his job, and the reader. I guess fans of a bad team deserve no better in their coverage. Amateurish and pathetic.

If Rex is fired, does a team hire him as DC?
transient replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is just so ludicrous. HCs are never hired as coordinators after unsuccessful HC gigs. It didn't happen for son of bum, or the Schwartz, or for Josh McDaniels*, or for Norv Turner, or for countless other coaches, so why would you even ask?! Sheesh. The nerve of some people. -

Trade the Bill's franchise for the Browns?
transient replied to gjv001's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Instead, can TBN just trade Sullivan to Tyler chicken in exchange for converting New Era to all chicken concessions? -
You can fire one person - who is it?
transient replied to Spurna's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
BillsRdue for the premature official elimination thread. -
There are whispers that Anthony Lynn is also being considered as a replacement, though this may be purely to fulfill the Mooney rule, which requires that at least one dude with a chick's name as a surname (or conversely a chick with a dude's name as a surname) be considered for all worthless blogger positions.

Yeah, his Steelers blueprint hasn't stood the test of time at all. -
Personally never been in to red skinned women with horns, cloven hooves, and a pointed tail, but to each their own. If you wager, just make sure there's no caveat about your soul, and bolt if there's anything to do with signing in blood instead of a simple handshake.
