  1. Hi guys, my name is transient and I am 21 days clean (shows coins with 21 days). I used to be a Fitz-alholic, but I manged to break my addiction for good during the Patriots game when yet another horribly underthrown ball that should have gone to TJ for 6 was picked. I'm hoping the Bills organization can help keep me on the straight and narrow by bringing in a real QB in the offseason so that the temptation for relapse is gone. I've been down that road too many times, and it only leads to heartache and dispair. Thanks for your support.
  2. Maybe "no one is digging the quotes" because they don't actually represent a quote. See, there, how it's done. They're not interpretation marks.
  3. I hated Flutie. He was a self promoting douche whose antics resulted in the locker room choosing sides and perpetuated the inevitable divide it caused. He took credit for success that was predominantly due to a relentless defense, and threw the team under the bus for his failures. The Jets with Belichik as DC drew up the blueprint of how to stop him during a Monday night game, don't pressure him and take away the short and intermediate routes, and the "magic" was gone. He was never going to win us a Super Bowl, and the bull **** controversy led to taking too long to figure out Johnson wasn't either. We wasted the seasons with a SB caliber defense because of it.
  4. The last part of the policy statement about maintaining the integrity of the NFL is a farce, as it has more to do with Vegas and oddsmakers than anything.
  5. "Someone wanna get little miss B word-breasts here a sports bra? And while you're at it, rustle up some midol. Apparently her little girl vagina hurts as well."
  6. Great. If you get good enough internet service under your bridge maybe you can start a Fred Jackson forum and litter it with your profound football insight.
  7. http://www.nfl.com/player/leonardlarramore/2501698/profile http://www.ic.nc.gov/ncic/pages/court/576078.htm Looks like he may have made the active roster for a game in '94 but didn't play, and then injured himself in training camp in '95 with the Panthers and didn't make the team.
  8. If I can fly around the equator fast enough against the earth's rotation I just might be able to fix this...
  9. Just trying to state, IN JEST, that 9 years is a long time to complete high school, and that you would be approximately 23 years old playing against teenagers.
  10. Are you suggesting that if people realized "Tank" is actually Ricky Carder Jr they wouldn't mind so much that Ricky is now a Brown.
  11. Kudos on the persistence. Bet you were a man among boys by the end... literally.
  12. http://www.usda.gov/oig/webdocs/BadNewzKennels.pdf Just skimmed this. It's the USDA's investigation. In reference to your above quote, it appears they were his own family's pets. For those who believe he paid his debt to society, he served time for one count of "Conspiracy to Travel in Interstate Commerce in Aid of Unlawful Activities and to Sponsor a Dog in an Animal Fight Venture" under federal law. Had he been charged and convicted in a Virginia court for animal cruelty, for which the law states: "In Virginia, a first offense that does not result in the death of an animal is a Class 1 misdemeanor, which carries a sentence of twelve months or less and a fine of up to $2500 or both. A person committing a second offense, or if the animal dies as a result of the first offense, is guilty of a Class 6 felony, punishable by up to five years in prison or, in the alternative, a prison sentence of less than a year or a maximum fine of $2500 or both. In addition, the owner of a dog or cat injured or killed as a result of cruelty is entitled to a damage award for the value of the animal or the damage done." this could have resulted in over 65 years in prison if he was prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law (witnessed involvement in over 20 dog fights, and nine "executions"). Personally, I think 18 months and a $5000 fine is a travesty.
  13. Unfortunately WEO, I think you're right. I am hoping that they don't find evidence of CTE in Seau's brain, but that is essentially hoping that they don't find signs of aging, to an extent. The fact that he shot himself in the chest instead of the head is, IMO, a bad sign of things to come. One last grasp at the spotlight for faded, depressed athletes who may be suffering from delayed effects of repeated head trauma, or may be suffering from much more common entities of depression or dementia. J2020, while I, and a number of posters in this thread, agree with you about the media and the scientific community shouting brain damage too soon from the standpoint of not knowing how to interpret the anatomical findings that are coming to light with CTE in relation to the clinical situation, you use as your source an article that does the exact same thing only from the opposing viewpoint. The author of the article clearly didn't know what he was writing about, or he wouldn't have drawn the conclusions that he did using evidence he does to support it.
  14. The report released appears to include only a gross analysis, not the detailed microscopic analysis that will be done at the NIH to evaluate for chronic traumatic encephalopathy.
  15. To your last point, Bledsoe had several 400+ yard games and a number of 300+ yard games, albeit not with Jauron. JP also put up several 300+ yard games, including 2 in 2006 under Jauron. Just sayin.
  16. You over-officious jerk. Marv (coaching in KC against the Bills)
  17. You're thinking of Thurston, Delano played Opie Cunningham on Happy Days in Mayberry, and now directs movies like Apollo 13.
  18. Aww, don't look so surprised. If you had my kind of money you could hire "reach around Bob" too!
  19. How dare they cover an event so insignificant as the Olympics with one of the least liked columnists in the city and leave a bunch of practice sessions to be reported on by columnists that are actually more objective and readable. THOSE BASTARDS!!
  20. Are my eyes failing, or on the SI link is Tebow holding that ball 180 degrees from where it needs to be?
  21. Not defending OP, but I think, as Rockinon was pointing out, that he was trying to speak (uninspiringly IMO) from the POV of the media in the first part of the post. He qualifies his own POV at the end as believing this "motley crew" can perform at a playoff level. Media gave FJax much love before the injury last year among other reported misconceptions.
  22. QB for the Bills? No kidding. I would have guessed the lead in Teen Wolf Too.
  23. They took a Fiedler QB'd team to several 11-5 seasons IIRC. What's that saying about making chicken salad...
