So next year our offense comes back to 100% but the defense struggles (isn't that the pattern, every other year?). There are a lot of games on this list where we can win in shootouts.

Just wondering if KC has been moved into the AFCE. Seems like we play them every year.

Cryptic Utah Utes player names seen in Rose Bowl
Utah John replied to stuvian's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Utes' pass defense was really good this year before several DBs were injured. They had a running back covering Smith-Njibwa which is what led to all those long TDs by Ohio State. I lived in Salt Lake City for 10 years and became a Utes fan, and I was disappointed at the result but pleased with the overall performance, considering the situation and the talent of Ohio State. Britain Covey became one of my favorite Utes during the season and he played great in the Rose Bowl. Super quick, but tiny. Possible slot receiver in the NFL but probably not able to block an NFL LB's shadow, let alone an actual LB. Still I wouldn't be surprised to see him pop up on someone's roster as a UDFA finding a niche as a returner. -
Judon was cleared with the Belichick get out of jail free card. But Cheatin' Bill only gets one per game.

AFC Playoff Picture Week 17 Rooting Interests
Utah John replied to EmotionallyUnstable's topic in The Stadium Wall
If the Dolphins beat the Titans, both the Bills and Titans will have 6 losses (assuming the Bills beat the Falcons). The last games of the year are the Titans at the Texans, and the Bills vs the Jets, and both the Titans and Bills figure to win their games. If it comes down to the Bills vs Titans for the 2 seed, obviously the Titans have the head to head edge. What if there are three 11-6 teams? Say, Bengals, Bills, and Titans -- a very real possibility. I am not sure how that would shake out, but Cinci would have the best conference record of the three. Once again I don't think the Bills could get the 2 seed. If Tennessee loses both its remaining games, and Cinci loses to either the Chiefs or Browns, I think that's the only way the Bills get the 2 seed. -

I'm rooting for Covid vs all the other AFC contenders. So far Covid is undefeated. -

Hoping for a Bengals loss so the Bills can get the third seed. -
Pro Football HOF Class of '22 Finalists [no Tasker]
Utah John replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall
I agree, a long career should not equate to a HOF career. But wait until Frank Gore gets eligible. He was never close to being the best back in the NFL for any season, but he kept on chugging along, and now is among the career leaders. The lazy voters will look at stats, not capability or impact. -
Week 17 — Falcons @ Bills Uniform Reveal
Utah John replied to SlimShady'sSpaceForce's topic in The Stadium Wall
My favorite combination. -
They're both great athletes, but neither one is particularly fast or strong. They are fast and strong ENOUGH to be the glue that holds together the top defense in the league. The reason is, I believe, their intelligence and their integrity. And their experience. But, the Pro Bowl votes for DBs go for INTs, just like Pro Bowl votes for defensive line and LBs go for sacks. Contributions toward "Best Defense" don't count.

The Pats are a good, B+ team. The Bills are an A team. Belichick deserves credit, not praise, for pulling together a team that's as good as it is, including a long win streak with a rookie QB who lacks an above-average arm. I think the Pats ran out of patsies and now have to play tough competition.

I think I saw that Spencer Brown played LT against the Pats, as he did against the Panthers. The difference is against the Pats we never heard his name called. If huge Spencer Brown can play LT, then huger Faalele can play RT. I'll bet a nickel that means Singletary suddenly becomes one of the best RBs in the league.

Jags sign TE Kahale Warring off Bills PS
Utah John replied to YoloinOhio's topic in The Stadium Wall
He wasn't required to sign with the Jags. He chose to take that opportunity. And I don't blame him, actually -- what player wouldn't want to get onto an active roster, with the huge pay increase, and the opportunity to compete somewhere else for a starting job? NFL careers are short, and no one wants to languish in PS obscurity until they age out of being good players. -
A better comparison is the Bills' opening day loss to Pittsburgh.

The Bills are quietly the hottest team in the NFL
Utah John replied to Hermes's topic in The Stadium Wall
The Colts are the only team to really beat the Bills decisively. -
The Pats WRs aren't any good to begin with, and then they lost Agholor and also Bourne wasn't 100%. The Bills covered Myers as well as possible and took away the TEs. Poor Little Mac (the opposite of a Big Mac) had nowhere to go for a safe throw. This doesn't diminish the impact of the Bills' win. Every team has players out, the Bills no exception. It is the deepest, most complete teams that can continue to play well despite the loss of some of the best players.
