  1. You do not have to be a good team to win close games. You just need to be at least a little better or luckier than the team you are playing that particular day. But I will grant you that teams that give up do not win close games.
  2. How was their luck involved in the 61 yard FG? Just because it is very rare and difficult does not mean it is lucky. One reason it is rare for example is that not many are attempted. Feely hit it perfectly and it was right down the middle with plenty of room to spare. There was no wind to help (or hurt) it. He made a great clutch kick. Not lucky, skillful. Now if the 38 yard one having been tipped and wobbling like crazy had hit the upright and still gone through then yeah that would have been lucky. The way the Bills luck usually runs I'm a little surprised it didn't.
  3. I have to wonder how the Cards got that many wins with an OL that is that horrible at both ends. Are their injured RBs THAT good???
  4. Short by an inch is bull **** by definition anyway. It is VERY rare that the spot itself is that accurate. But they should get rid of the antique chains anyway and use something like this: http://www.firstdownlaser.com/
  5. When he gets fired. Then after a 1 season (at most) honeymoon they start up again.
  6. When Mario performs like that against one of the best OL instead of THE worst he should be praised. Fairly or unfairly he is expected to destroy a terrible OL.
  7. A pretty good Cards team but the Bills matched up perfectly with them. Mario and Kelsay were up against players that were #1 and #2 for sacks allowed with the #3 person having half as many. That plus being down to their 3rd string RB should have made it almost impossible for the Cards offense to score. And as it was the Cards would have won that game in regulation had it not been for the chip shot FG miss. As a good friend of mine says, any win is a good win no matter how lucky or ugly. The Bills have the Titans at home which should be winnable. Hopefully the Bills D can build off of yesterday and show up for the Titans game as well.
  8. I disagree. That 61 yarder was good from 71 and right down the middle. Nothing lucky about it. Feely (and most at the NFL level) makes the short one in his sleep. Even as bad as he hit it,it almost still snuck through. The Bills were given an extreme gift. Hope they can take advantage of it.
  9. Positives: Spiller and Bills finally getting some good luck. Negatives: Gailey and Fitz.
  10. A win is indeed a win, but geez did the Bills get lucky or what. Chan Gailey should send Feely a thank you card.
  11. I picked the Bills huh. Must have been drinking the koolaid that day And it still tastes good
  12. I could follow the OPs logic if and only if T-Jax dressed for the game. We all know what Thigpen is capable of and I cannot think of a reason for wanting him to play unless you wanted the team to tank for the draft.
  13. Sounds like a great time. Lets hope the Bills prepared as well as the AZ Bills backers did!
  14. I see this sometimes and it makes me scratch my head. What, in his entire career but particularly in Buffalo, makes you think Gailey is an above average OC? He came into last season with the short-slant stuff that worked for a few games, then got figured out and exposed. Since then he has employed ... the same short-slant five wide scheme with no adaptations. He has had mediocre records at best wherever he has been. And has an absolutely abysmal record thus far in Buffalo. He is not some young kid who is learning the ropes causing these catastrophic failures, rather he is looking at retirement in a few years (or maybe sooner). Where is "above average" in there? I don't want Gailey or anyone else fired until a better replacement is found. But good lord if Gailey is your idea of above average I'd hate to see your idea of bad.
  15. Heavy favorite? I thought it was only 5 points. Did it change?
  16. That's worse than "It's hard to win in the NFL."
  17. Probably because it was a non-starter instead of someone like FredEx.or Spiller or Fitz.
  18. I do not have a score prediction for the game, but I will predict that you cave and haul ass to a bar Sunday just before game time
  19. I honestly don't even have a score prediction. If Kolb has time to throw then it is going to get ugly as Fitzgerald has a career day against Gilmore. But the D could have a good showing against a OL that has been giving up sacks in bunches, plus the cards are down to the third string RB. Pick-em as far as I can tell. Probably why Vegas has the line so close as well. Could well come down to a key mistake. So please Chan keep your head out of your butt and chill on the 5-wide Sunday! The Bills need to take the ball out of Fitz's hands as much as possible.
  20. That was a playoff game and was in January 1993. And you are correct, it did not sell out..
  21. Didn't happen even in the SB years. December games in an outdoor stadium in Buffalo do not sell themselves.
  22. I don't know about the "insulting" part, but the rest is true. He is entitled to do what he wants (within the rules of the NFL anyway) regarding the ownership and sale of his team. And the fans don't have any right or say in that decision. Like it or not. When Mr. Wilson passes we will find out. All the forum threads in the world won't change that basic fact.
